Jo arrived on time. The atmosphere was darker. She could feel the gloom around her but she made no reactions. Her real mind was locked up in a cage. The madness dominated the body.

The red heels clanked against the stones as the person came closer. "Do you have the book?" She asked. "Yes". Jo replied and brought it out. The woman smiled widely. "At long last, we are reunited". She reached to grab it but Jo snatched it back. "You promised to fix me. I don't care if my friends hate me anymore, I can't remain like this".

The woman chuckled, "you naive girl!" She said, "why would you want to be fixed? You have greater powers now. You can control anyone and anything. You can leave destruction with your mere shadow and best of you never have to be lonely". The insane doll made an appearance after the statement.

"Your friends will not only hate you but they will try to kill you. They will believe that you can't be saved. I speak from experience", her words were entrapping, "join forces with me completely and that could all be in the past". Jo contemplated on it. She remembered the first time her veins turned blue to the time she conjured her first objects to the time of mind reading. Her friends were there and they didn't start off that way. Is power worth losing everything else? She asked herself.

The woman frowned as she saw the big hesitation in her eyes. She  clapped her hands causing a huge wind to knock Jo off her feet. Jo's grip wasn't strong on the book so it flew out of her hands. Her back collided with the floor. She cried out and groaned. The woman crouched beside her body, "you wanna know why I chose you?" She smirked, "because you are pathetic. You're weak. You could never let go of your loneliness. You were the easy target". She stood up. She looked at the doll and ordered, "make sure her madness kills her. Slowly would be a nice choice".

Angie had called 911 and Mr Calley. She and Lin rushed the statements they gave to the cops. They wanted to make sure Mitchell was safe before going to find Jo. They had an advantage going in three than two.

They didn't bother knocking on the door as they barged inside. "Avery baby, is that you?" Tatiana asked. Mitchell put Lashana down and went to check it out. "Look Mitchell, I know you're mad at me", Angie started, "but we have bigger problems than that". "Oh really?" Mitchell crossed her arms. "We're being serious", Lin spoke up, "something is terribly wrong".

"What do you mean ?" Mitchell asked.

"We planned to steal the book from Jo to find a cure. We searched everywhere but the book was gone". Angie said.

"Then her Mom walked in with her throat dashed open and she said we should save Jo". Lin completed. Mitchell took a step back. She had been feeling that something was out of place but she brushed it off. "Is Sophia fine?" Tatiana joined the conversation. "We're not sure", Angie frowned, "the paramedics said her throat wasn't too punctured but she had lost a lot of blood". "Where's Jo?" Mitchell asked. "The last we saw her...she was headed for the graveyard". Lin replied.

Tatiana felt a chill down her spine. She could see history repeating itself. She wasn't going to scare the girls by telling them that it might be too late. Tatiana grabbed a coat, "I'll go to the hospital and stay with Sophia", she ordered, "you three should try your best to stay alive. For now, there's a break in your link which means you have to fight extra hard". She was out the door before any of them could say Jack Robinson.

The girls nodded at each other and walked out. "What's the plan?" Mitchell asked. "We get there and save Jo". Lin answered. Mitchell rolled her eyes and snapped, "that's the goal not a plan". "Well I'm sorry that I'm not the brains here".

"You just never try thinking".

"Since you're so good, why haven't you thought of one?" "Enough!" Angie yelled, "we need to work together not fight". They stopped walking to think. "I went to the Shadow world today", she told them, "I wanted to confirm the death of my Mom". "Your mom is dead?!" Lin was shocked. "According to the Sheriff, she is but she isn't really. Daniel said that I am the reason why she still has powers. What I don't know is how". "This is a big mess. Have you thought about it thoroughly?" Mitchell was the tactical one among them.

Angie bit her lip then said, "I mean, I didn't do anything so..." Realization hit her. She didn't do anything. That was her fault. She knew something was wrong with Jo and she spent her time feeling angry that she didn't do anything. Her mind went back to the time when she saw the hit list. Jo was the next target. She could have easily put all pieces together back then. "You guys, Jo badly needs our help".

Jo coughed out blood. Her lips were busted. She was in pain. All her body ached. "Isn't this fun?" The doll cheered, "just you, me and death around the corner". Jo closed her eyes. She wanted to concentrate and send a message to her friends. She needed them now more than ever. The doll obviously felt this. "Oh no you don't". It said and drove it sharp teeth into her side. "AH!"

The woman flipped through the pages. The hat she wore was big enough to cover her face so no one could tell who she was. She smiled once she found the golden page. She opened her hands and the sand started twirling together. The book floated in mid air. She started the chant of the spell as her eyes turned white.

"Step away from her!" Angie yelled immediately striking the doll. The little monster rolled in the floor then stood up. "Oh, I have had it with you". Lin charged fire at the doll. It was burning but it's creepy smile never faded once. "Jo! Jo!" Mitchell held her, "breathe Jo! Hold on". While Lin was handling the doll and Mitchell was healing Jo, Angie went to look for her Mom.

She hid behind a tree as she saw the mini tornado. She took a guess that the spell was powerful for all the leaves in the area to be turning gray. She stretched her hands towards the book. She was trying to pull it away but it was difficult. The woman paused her chanting. She had a feeling that they were going to ruin her plans so she was prepared. She clicked her fingers and Angie fell to the ground.

Angie used her hands to close her ears. The high pitch ringing was giving her a massive headache. "Mom!" She screamed out. It caught the woman by surprise. Angie quickly used the opportunity to stretch her hands to the book again. The woman also tried to pull it to herself. Angie slowly stood on her feet and rooted herself to the ground. She wasn't going to go down that easily.

The air was thick and the skies went black like night time. A fireball came from nowhere and blasted the woman in her chest. It was Mitchell. Lin was helping Jo walk to the spot. The book floated into Angie's hands. "It's over". She told the woman. "It's not over until I say so". The woman spat. She managed to stand upright. She accessed the girls. They had stern looks on their faces and they were sparking with energy.

She knew she had lost. She brought out a white handkerchief. She threw it up and once it came down, she had disappeared. The girls let out huge breaths. "She'll be back". Angie said frowning.

The book suddenly started rattling. It turned red and it grew hot. "Get down!" Angie shouted pushing her friends down. Time slowed down and the book exploded. They all turned pale as the ashes flew everywhere.
