Angie related the memory to them. "Let's go to Mitchell's house and look them up". Lin said. "I'm starting to rub off on you". Jo said cockily. "Real funny, Jo". Lin rolled her eyes. They left the gay bar without noticing a shadowy figure at their heels.

"So", Jo opened the laptop, "show us what you've got". She imputed the names and their information popped up. "Whoa! Things got interesting after that night", Jo commented while reading, "they got married; Vinci and Andreas Lux. Vinci gave up on his hotel and bar business to explore the world with  his family". "Seems like a regular story". Mitchell shrugged.

Angie felt the presence of the figure and quickly said, "Mitchell, make a shield now!" Mitchell was confused. "Now!" Angie repeated. Mitchell touched the table and let a shield cover them. "Can you explain why now? That was freaky". Lin crossed her arms. "We're being watched", Angie said looking around, "I can sense it. My guess is Nolan. We don't want her getting the Or of Light before we do".

They all nodded and Jo  went back to the story. "Hold up! There is something here that doesn't fit", Jo said, "Andreas was pregnant in 2002, right?" "Right". Angie confirmed. "Their daughter wasn't born until 2005", Jo announced, "and there was a rumor of them separating because Vinci turned out to be the biological father. Andreas' family charged him for  sedation and rape".

It shocked them all. "There is definitely something magical about that", Angie said, "Andreas and Vinci didn't meet till that night". "Exactly!" Jo snapped, "and you won't guess what their daughter's name is. Goldie. Goldie Lux". Angie was confused as to why the name should be of importance to them.

Mitchell's eyes widened first. "Or is French for 'gold'", she told the rest, "and Lux is Latin for 'light'". Lin gasped. "The Or of Light", Angie finished, "is Goldie Lux". Jo nodded with a big smile. "And we're in big luck", Jo continued, "they're in Bresten right now". A notification popped up. Jo checked it. "Uh oh", Jo muttered, "Vinci just posted on his Twitter that they're headed for Siddertown next". "Just our luck!" Lin groaned. "We have to go now!" Angie beckoned.

"Over here!" Levi called out to them. "Looks like a hunter got to them first". Grayson muttered at the sight of the dead wolf with a large arrow in between its eyes. Jason felt a wave of nausea at the sight. He was confused. Death or blood never made him cringe. Maybe he was just sick.

"So where to next?" Levi asked Grayson. "We go back to the lair and rest". Grayson replied. "But the wolves? What if they attack someone?" Levi protested. Grayson put a hand on  his shoulder, "you're not letting me down", he said softly, "I know that you're under pressure. Don't be. You're my second-in-command and the pack respects you for that. You don't have anything else to prove". Levi gave a small smile and nodded.

Jason phone suddenly started wailing. "I'll be back". He excused himself and pick the call. "Hey Jason". The familiar voice greeted. "Xander? How did you get this number?" Jason lowered his voice and stole glances of Grayson. Grayson's ears weren't perking so he was sure that Grayson wasn't listening in.

"Well, hi. Why'd you call?"

"Just wanted to check up on you and ask you if you're up for an ice cream break".

"I already had ice cream today".

"A little more sugar never hurt anyone". Xander chuckled. "I guess". Jason also chuckled. He turned to see Grayson and Levi staring at something. "Look um...I would love to hang out but I'm kinda busy". Jason's tone was apologetic. "How about this evening? My treat". Xander insisted. Jason sighed, "I know you're not gonna give up", he said, "so fine! This evening. Your treat". "Thanks. Bye". Jason hung up and moved closer to the guys.

They were still staring in the direction. "What happened?" He asked totally confused. "Look". Levi pointed. Jason squinted. His eyes went wide as he saw it too. The other wolves were also dead. Something about the way they were scattered seemed odd to him. Jason moved closer. He bent down and wiped the sand. Lines? He mused. His eyes traced the lines and it was in a drawing. Jason checked his sides, front and back. He was in the middle. But the middle of what?

Lin stopped to catch her breath again. "Freaking boot heels!" She grunted. "At least, you still look fashionable in pain". Jo mocked. Lin evened her breathing and replied, "die in style has been my motto for a while now, Jo. Your joke was so last year". Jo rolled her eyes and they continued to the house. "I didn't even know there was a house here". Angie commented. "Maybe it's the ranger's", Mitchell shrugged, "he could have rented it out".

Angie knocked as soon as they got there. There was no reply. She knocked again and still no reply. She closed her eyes to sense the house. She could feel their auras and it was surprisingly very strong. "We know you're in there", Angie yelled, "I'm Angie Skewer. We're not here to hurt you. We're here to help!" Silence. That was what followed her introduction. Angie sighed and used plan B. "Agorha mista profatum!" She shouted.

The locks clicked and slowly, the door opened. Angie recognized the man from her memory. "Vinci Lux", she greeted, "you're in danger. Can we come in?" Vinci accessed the girls. They looked harmless. He had learned not to trust pretty faces. "Seo Lin Ye?" He asked like it was a password. "Actually, it's Lin Shin Ye. I hate my real name". Lin replies with usual sass. Vinci smiled and let them in.

"Lovely home". Mitchell said out of courtesy. The place was homey and comfortable but it lacked style. The wallpapers were ripping off and cobwebs hung around the chimney. "Please have you seats", Vinci instructed, "I'll the others". "Should we be worried that he knew Lin's name?" Jo whispered. Angie shook her head and answered, "it probably has something to do with Maggie. She must have been here".

Right one cue, the other Luxs walked in. Andreas held Goldie closely. Angie smiled at that. She knew what it felt like now. Daniel was nothing but a great father. That was almost enough to make her sulk that he  was dead. Vinci whispered into Andreas' ear and he relaxed.

Goldie walked boldly towards them. "Hi", she extended her hand, "I'm Goldie Lux. I know. It's a totally uncool name but hey! I can't change it". She was so young and beautiful with her blue eyes and brunette hair. "I'm Angie. And these are my friends", Angie took her hand for the shake, "Mitchell, Jo and Lin". "Hey" "Hi" "Aloha". The others said.

Vinci quickly went back to lock the doors. "Have you told her?" Angie asked the fathers. "No", Andreas replied, "she said you would". Angie didn't need anyone to tell her that the 'she' was Maggie.

Andreas intertwined his fingers with his daughter's. She had been a blessing  for them. Before Maggie played them a visit, he always wondered why 'Or' was written on her chest. The words were born with her. He had dreams about darkness and light but he brushed it off. Maggie dropped a bomb with her visit. He could remember the day like it was yesterday.

Past...

"You all done?" Andreas asked his husband who was fixing the light bulbs. "Just a sec!" Vinci replied. The knock interrupted their work. He looked around. Goldie wasn't close by. She was probably putting up posters in her room. Andreas sighed and opened the door.

"Ah!" He yelped as he saw a girl (if he could call her that) around seventeen years with tree branches growing out of her head and gray eyes. "I come in peace". Her voice sounded like the wind. Soothing. Begging for trust. Andreas welcomed her. "Babe, I can't find the...ah!" Vinci shrieked like he had seen a ghost.

"I have little time left", the strange girl started, "my name is Maggie Pitters. I have alarming news about your daughter and what her future holds". "I'm sorry but we don't believe in fairy tales", Vinci frowned, "and today isn't Halloween". "Vinci Lux take a seat. Please". Like he was under a spell, Vinci took his seat.

Andreas was uncomfortable in his seat. This Maggie girl had powers they could not comprehend. " Your worries would be made more today, Andreas", Maggie addressed him, "her birthmark shows a terrible fate. Your daughter was born with a soul of pure light and those that walk in darkness would do anything to dim it".
