Lin paced from one end of her room to the other. Maggie had fallen asleep so she left. She was puzzled about what evil they had unleashed by changing time. She kept thinking until a knock distracted her. "Honey? Jonah's home". Kimberly said from outside.

Lin dropped everything and rushed to his room. She took a deep breath before walking in. "Hey Jonah", she said in a small voice, "how are you feeling?" "Who's that? Who's there?" Jonah asked almost in panic. Lin sat beside his bed, "it's Lin, remember?" She said.

"Lin who?"

"Lin, your sister. Lin Shin Ye!" She added a short laugh. Jonah joined in. "That's the sister I know", he said, "why are you sad?" "Sad?" Lin wiped her face, "I'm not sad. I'm happy you're at home". "You can't lie to me. The doctor said my hearing and other senses have improved, remember?"

"I know. I'm crying because I missed you".

"Well, I'm home now". "It's not the same!" Lin cried out and hugged him. Jonah stroked her hair softly, "It'll be fine. They said it's not permanent". He tried to assure her. Lin sniffed, "it's all his fault", her tone switched to that of anger, "I wish I could return the favor". Lin was sparking but Jonah touched her hands. "You promised me". He said softly. "Argh!" Lin let the energy die out, "that's the only reason he's alive".

"It's time to go". Kimberly announced. Lin frowned at the door and answered, "I'm coming". "I don't wanna go back there". She whispered to Jonah. "You're doing this for Mom".
"She doesn't deserve my sympathy".

"Maybe, maybe not. You can't walk away now. They'll come after you".

"I can take care of them".

"You promised me. You cannot end up like Jo. You know what it would do to all of you". Lin hugged him and said, "please be here when I get back". Jonah only nodded. He didn't want his words to turn against him at the end of the day.

Lin waved him before going out. She toughened her eyes. She was heading into a battle field. She should have been used to it by now but she couldn't. Getting used to it meant being a monster. She was content with leaving that title for her father.

"Back so soon?" He smirked, "I would be lying if I said I didn't miss you a bit". Angie rolled her eyes. She saw a tiny monster rubbing its rock sized head against his legs. "Awwww. I didn't know you had a soft spot for monster babies". Angie mocked with a smile. Daniel kicked the thing off and adjusted his clothes. Angie laughed and sat beside him.

"Do you now understand why I avoided the topic of time traveling?" Daniel asked not looking at her. "Yeah. Do you have any idea what the problem is?" She asked in reply.

"Maybe. It was a legend though. Probably you brought it to life".

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"The story should be in the book. I can barely remember anything about the book".

"How is that possible? And how did my Mom erase you from everyone's lives?" Daniel scoffed, "she wasn't the one who erased it", he said, "I did it. I don't know how or why but that is why it is irreversible". Angie was pained. She placed a hand on his shoulder, "I'll find the truth", she promised, "no matter what it takes". "It's amusing", he chuckled sadly, "of all the people I get bound to, the magic chose you".

Angie removed her hands and looked away. "Maybe it's one of the secrets you have to uncover", Daniel said, "before it skips my mind, I found something that might help". He brought out a material from his pocket. "What is it?" She asked. "This piece of clothing can lead you to your current problem". Before she could reach for it, it had gone.

"Since I am merely a spirit, I can only latch on to human objects for a little while". He shrugged nonchalantly. "Where did you find it?" She asked strictly. "Can't exactly remember", Daniel stroked his chin, "but I recall that it was a girl. I think she had glasses or was it a dog?" "Gee thanks". She was as sarcastic as ever. Angie closed her eyes and journeyed back. Daniel pulled out a locket necklace. "If only you knew this secret". He whispered.

Mitchell came out to throw the trash. "Lin?" She asked herself when she saw a black Audi A4 driving off with her inside. She was puzzled. She had never noticed that before. Where could she be going at this time of the night? Mitchell wondered. Lin was never the kind of person to keep dark secrets so she decided to ask her about it later.

"What took you so long?" Jo asked taking a bit from the veggie burgers. "Raccoon". Was her short lie. Jo just shrugged and went back to munching. "Are you sure you want to go back home tonight?" Mitchell questioned, "we haven't heard any death reports and I'd prefer if you weren't the first".

"Hey!" Jo protested with a full mouth. She quickly swallowed, "I can handle myself better", she said, "and I'm waiting for your Mom to make the choice". "You're welcome to stay here anytime". Tatiana walked into the kitchen to grab an apple. "Avery baby, don't forget their bedtime", Tatiana instructed, "René has a new thing for puppy eyes". "Got it". Mitchell nodded. "I'll see Sophia then I'm off to work". She added. Mitchell's shoulders fell as heard that.

"Do you have to go to work?" She asked sadly. "How else would I put food on the table?" Tatiana snapped. "We can sell the house. Do anything...as long as you don't have to go back there". "I'd appreciate if we didn't have this discussion in front of a guest". Mitchell ignored the looks and walked closer. "Momma, if you could just listen..." "I'm gonna be late". Tatiana cut in and walked out.

At that moment, the book rattled. Jo freaked because the last time it did that, it exploded. The pages just randomly started flipping. It stopped on a page. Jo took a look. It was a woman who had a circle in the middle of her hands above her head. There were several pictures inside but she couldn't see them clearly. The painting and wordings underneath wiped off and a new painting appeared. "Um Mitchell? Can you come over for a sec?"

Mitchell released her balled fists and went over to Jo. "What is it?" Her tone was harsh. "This page randomly opens and the painting and wordings all erased", Jo explain, "and now, it had redrawn". "What do the words say?" "It's in a different language", Jo sighed, "I'm more worried about the hieroglyphics in the circle". This time the circle had a mini circle in the middle and a foetus was inscribed.

Angie resigned herself to rummaging through her Mom's things. Her Dad was around now which was good but he was detached. It was like he had no idea of the family he formed. Her mind kept traveling to what Jo said about her bond with Daniel. She had tried convincing herself that it was nothing but the denial was draining her. Literally. It was like the magic was punishing her for not understanding why.

She heard footsteps from behind and she let light glow from her hands. Mike stood petrified in his spot. He took a step back. He shook his head and made way to the door but Angie was quicker. She snapped her fingers and it slammed shut. "Mike, you have to trust me", she said slowly, "I won't harm you". "Stay away from me!" He screamed. Angie calculated that Dave might run down soon. She sighed and turned her eyes to slits. "I'm sorry for this". She muttered before imprinting thoughts into his mind. The day was getting worse by the minute.

Maggie woke up with a headache. She checked her surroundings. She wasn't in her room anymore. She squeezed her eyes before opening them fully. She was in the graveyard. Her head rose higher and she read the name on the tombstone. "Felicity Huffman 2001 - 2018".
