Angie took Goldie and ran through the shadows. Just like Jo had said, the light came to them in a straight line as soon as they were packed in front of the forest reserves. When she came to a rest, Goldie puked. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry". The girl apologized. "I get it. Just hurry". Angie checked the surrounding. "You think we're close?" Angie asked. "Yeah", Goldie finally stood straight, "the light is getting brighter". "Good""Don't be so hard on yourself Mom". Ashley said as she and Denise walked down the street. "I never imagined that she would alive", Denise shook her head, "and now, she hates me". "She doesn't hate you. Me...maybe".
"It doesn't matter now. I really hoped that Daniel wasn't dead. He could have convinced her... he could have met you".
"It's gonna be fine, Mom". Ashley gave her a smile. "I missed this town", Denise smiled too, "there is something...refreshing about it". "It is pretty". Ashley eyed the place. "I'll go see the gang of friends and we'll be off, okay?" "What about Angie?" "If she finds in her heart to forgive me, she'll come looking".
Lin and Jason were escaping just fine. She told Jason to pause. She listened closely and heard two people talking. She crept to them. She grabbed one from behind. In panic, his claws cut through her skin. Lin hissed at the pain but still snapped his neck. The second guy trembled. Maybe a little wolf. She thought. The werewolf tried to run but Lin stretched her hands to hold him in the air. Once he had fainted, she threw him at a table beside the pillar. The vase that was on it almost smashed but Jason cut it. "Let's go!" She urged him.
Lin quickly saw that Xander was walking up the stairs. "Don't breathe". She told Jason and held his hand. They both turned invisible. Xander came with a female witch. "I thought I heard something". He said. "Maybe it was from the room", the woman slowly said, "the boy may be throwing a tantrum". Xander smirked, "maybe" he said, "he's cute when he's mad".
Lin scrunched up her face like she had eaten a lime. "Let's get back to work". The witch said. Xander turned and sniffed. Lin saw that he was looking directly at her only that he couldn't see her body. He almost touched her head but she duck. He wanted to step on he foot but she stepped back. His hands also grazed hers but she dodged in time. The witch was looking at the werewolf like he had gone bonkers. "Let's go". He said and walked down. When Lin was very sure that he was gone, she made them visible. "That was too close". Jason exhaled. "Tell me about it". She sighed.
Grayson and seven other werewolves reached Angie and Goldie. Levi and Mitchell were struggling to meet up (Mitchell was pulling him back). "Whoa!" One of the werewolves exclaimed. It looked like a shooting star was engraved in the ground with the way it shone. "We've got company". Grayson growled.
Witches moved towards their mark to find out why it was glowing. "We have to stop the from alerting the others!" Angie screamed. "I am trusting you to bring Jason and Lin back". With those words, Grayson led his pack to fight. A leap in the air and Grayson was transformed to a wolf. "Hold on!" Angie pulled Goldie and they were running in the shadows again.
Grayson was sinking his fangs into any part of the witches. He endured some fireballs but it was nothing compared to the flame of rage that burned inside of him. He howled and brought down his claws to slash a throat. Levi and Mitchell arrived to the fight scene. "I'll join them", Levi said, "go met the rest". Mitchell nodded and went left.
The howl did not go unnoticed by Xander. He couldn't tell if it was from inside the building or outside so he stomped to the room he had kept Jason. His eyes widened in bewilderment. Two of his werewolves were dead. In panic, he checked the room. "Shit!" He swore when he was greeted with an empty room.
He ran downstairs. Before he could start barking out commands, the witch he was with came to him with news. "The star for the ritual was glowing", she said, "I sent a few to inspect it. One if them should have returned with news by now". Xander ran a hand through his head, "this cannot be happening! This cannot be happening!" He yelled and punched the wall, "I need you to round up everyone. We do the ritual today". "But it's not yet time. Time is important for the spells to work". The witch shuddered. "I don't give a damn. I say we're doing it today and that's it".
Lin and Jason were constantly checking their backs to see if anyone had come after them. The two crashed into a pair of bodies. Lin jumped up ready to attack but she relaxed at the familiar faces. "Angie!" She lunged and hugged her. Angie pulled away and thumped Lin's head. "Oww!" She whined. "That was for creating a crazy plan", Angie scolded, "did you think of the downside? You didn't even bother to tell me!" "You and scold later", Mitchell joined the gang, "I think Xander might have noticed by now".
The rustling of leaves told them that Mitchell was right. "Run!" Angie screamed. She made sure the others were in front of her before she moved. Grayson had just finished clawing the last witch. He morphed back to his human and very naked form.
"Grayson!" Jason screamed as soon as he heard the voice. A voice that he had missed so much. He trapped Jason in a bear hug. Grayson was so emotional about their reunion that he burst into tears. "What the heck!" Jason laughed, "I never thought I'd see the Grayson Tryler in tears". "I missed you too, idiot". Grayson replied.
The slow clapping was heard loudly. "Wow! What a touchy reunion!" Xander said with a smirk. "Why you don't come closer and repeat that?" Grayson threatened. Xander laughed, "what kind of mate are you anyways?" He mocked, "Jason went missing for over a month and you could do nothing. You're weak. That much is expected when Daddy handed you the pack on a silver platter".
Jason put a hand in front of Grayson to stop him from ripping Xander's head off. "You lost, Xander", Lin said, "I used to think you were smart, you know?" "You played me for a fool", he shrugged, "maybe I'll keep up around as a lackey. After all, you were daddy's little killer since forever". Levi put a protective arm around Lin. She touched Levi softly and said nothing. She wasn't going to give him that satisfaction.
"The worst is you", he stared at Angie, "after all the stories, I thought you would be a bigger challenge or a thorn in my flesh". "Glad you did your homework". Angie sassed while crossing her arms. Xander snickered, "I did, didn't I?" He said, "your dad was killed by the same person you called Mom. Her twin brother in this case. Family drama". "The twist makes it interesting". Angie was trying hard not to be provoked by him.
"You may be fooling them", he continued, "but I see the real you. You're a coward. You're not strong enough to protect anyone. How many more have to die before you realize this?" "Don't listen to him!" Mitchell put a hand on her shoulder. "Yeah Angie, don't listen to me", Xander mimicked Mitchell, "the truth will remain the truth though. You are the reason Felicity was killed, you're the reason Maggie is dead and you killed your father. I can go on with the list especially from the massacre on 'black Valentine'. All those names on the wall... You . Put. Them. There".
Angie's face changed. The names were ringing in her head. The voices in her head haunted her once more. 'You have no idea of the power you possess' 'Focus, Angie! You can do this' 'Do you really think it wa because I healed you?' 'There are those born with magic' 'You have a greater task to fulfill' 'For everything that has a beginning has an end' 'What is your purpose?' 'What is your purpose?' 'WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?'
Angie opened her eyes. "You're right", she took a step forward, "it is my fault they died. They died because I didn't know who I was or what I was doing. I do now". With that her eyes glowed red and she rose ten feet from the ground. Her hair was flying in all directions. "Let's find out who the coward is". She smirked.
Xander and his people charged and so did Angie's team. No one was going to die today without a fight. A tough fight.
