Angie sat in her bed. It was cold because she hadn't slept there in days. Mike passed by her room a few times. He wanted to walk to her but she seemed far away in thoughts. Angie looked lifeless. Her eyes were swollen and she had dark rings around it from lack of sleep. Each time she closer her eyes mistakenly, she saw a heart being forced out of a body.Mitchell tossed from one side of the bed to the other. She couldn't sleep. The screams and the moment when time slowed down hunted her. She flashed back to all the dead bodies she had seen. Her mind was creating a death scene for each on. The next scene was always more vicious than the previous.
Jo tried to bury her face in her books. She needed a distraction. She opened her English textbook and saw blood on the pages. She threw the book to a corner with several others. Her pencils had turned to chop up fingers and her lava lamp was like a jar of souls all screaming out her name. "Ah!" She screamed too while closing her ears. Sophia was there in minutes and she was hugging her broken daughter.
Lin punched the bag. She was breathing heavily as she did so. Names were reciting in her head. Felicity Hoffman. Galvin. Asha Skewer. Nathaniel Skewer. Brittany Keagan. Daniel Skewer. Eliza. Mr. Schizo. Maggie Pitters. Kimberly Seo. Lin let out a shout as she punched a big hole into the wall. Her right hand was broken and her left knuckles were bloodied.
She leaned against the wall and slid down slowly. She whimpered. The tears were ever flowing. She ran her left hand through her hair. She had no idea what to do with herself. She didn't even know how to mourn. She laid on the cold floor and cried her eyeballs out.
Mr Dhawnren stayed up late. He was trying to figure a way out. He wanted to stop these mad people before they found a way to force him to perform the ritual. He couldn't let them win. His wife and daughter made him promise with their last breaths. He held his hair as the said memory came.
He was happily in London with his family. He had an evening lecture to give so he came home around nine. He met his house door ajar. That should have warned him that he was in danger but he didn't take a hint. He walker in slowly accessing the environment.
His bed room door had been broken down. His white bedsheets had been dyed red with blood. "Maria!" He yelled as her saw her at the foot of the bed. Her legs were bruised from struggle and all her hands were decorated with cuts. He looked at his daughter who was barely breathing. She had a knife in her chest like she had taken the hit for her mother. His brave five years old girl.
"Daddy". She whispered. He dropped his bags and started healing them. "There's no use", Maria croaked, "we're already gone". "No! No! I will save you!" He said with determination. "Daddy promise". His daughter, Sally placed her hand on his face. "Promise us John", Maria continued, "promise us that you will never let them win. Promise that you will fight till your last breath".
John kissed Sally's hand and said, "I promise". Maria smiled weakly. "I love you Daddy". Sally said and closed her eyes. "I love you so much. I have no regrets". Maria said giving him one final smile. John looked at the window. Maria was holding Sally. They looked beautiful. They waved and faded into the air.
John Dhawnren wiped his face of the little tears that fell. The memory was so painful yet Maria told him she had no regrets. She was happy to die for him. John sniffed and made up his mind. He had to find someone else with nature's call. His time was ticking but he would keep his promise. He wouldn't let them win.
Angie woke up with a fever. She tried to stand up but her body wasn't giving in. "Stay right where you are, young lady". Connor crossed his hand and entered the room. "Dad" she groaned, "I have school". "Since when did school matter to you?" He raised his eyebrows. Angie mentally slapped herself. "I need to see my friends", she opted for half the truth, "we're still mourning Maggie". And Kimberly. Her conscience added.
