oox. the bar across the street
2.01

Alcohol was being poured down Atlas throat like he needed it to breathe. It was drink after drink and Joe, the bar owner was really concerned. He watched as Atlas drunk all his drinks, and was worsening his condition. Atlas was heart broken. So broken that he didn't know what to do or how to fix it. So Atlas made a quick decision and used alcohol as his solution.

Joe places a shot glass infront of the attending, who smiled drunkenly at the bartender. "You look familiar. You been here before?" Joe asks, how he doesn't remember the night that Atlas had flirted endlessly with Derek is surprising.

"Once. And then I took him home, and then he had a wife!" Atlas exclaimed drunkenly, way past his limit.

"Oh—oh!—your Atlas!" Joe remembers.

Oliver comes barreling into the bar, his feet echoing loudly against the stone cold floor. His had wrapped around his bag and his jar keys were hanging from his teeth. The dimly lit bar lights shinned on his face, which caused him to squint his eyes so he could look for his elder brother. Once Oliver spotted his older brother he rushed forward.

"Oh my god! I heard! Ima kick his ass!" Oliver shouts, which makes Atlas cover his heads. The drunken man just shakes his head furiously.

Atlas had different stages of drinking and being drunk. After his first or second drink: he started to space out, being out of touch to what was happening around himself. Once he hit his third drink, he was a very fun drunk: always dancing, flirting or singing. Four and five drink Atlas would become confident, one that he would normally have yet boosted. And then there was six drink Atlas, once Atlas hit six drinks he was either sad and weepy, or angry. (more than often it was sad, than angry.)

Atlas was at seven drinks. He had never ever made it past six drinks, he always cut himself off. But now, when his boyfriend had a hidden wife, that Atlas just found out. Which gave Atlas a reason to drink until he didn't want to anymore. So what was the side effects of seven drinks? Derek thinking Atlas was the side effect of seven drink Atlas.

"No more for you Atlas." Oliver pushes his older brother drinks away, Atlas only mumbles something under his breath and makes grabby hands to get the cup of alcohol back.

"Ol..."

"I know Atly, I know." Oliver throws his hand around his older brothers shoulder and helps him away from the counter, throwing a good amount of money at Joe.

Oliver helps his older brother out of the underground bar and out into the street, which causes the drunk man to stumble at the bright shinning moon.

The younger Lee-Sunny sibling helps pull his brother across the street and into the hospital, where Oliver dumps Atlas at an empty nurses station.

The interns, minus Christina and Alex all walk toward Oliver who's pacing near the nurses station near Atlas.

"What's wrong with you? And why is Atlas here? Didn't he have a date with mcdreamy?" Izzie questions, her nosiness and bubbly personality slipping through the cracks.

"More like McMarried." George mutters.

"McWhat?!" Izzie and Eliza shriek, neither of them having known that Derek was married.

The interns and Atlas all watch as Joe, the bartender is wheeled into a hospital room, Christina and Alex by his side.

"What happened to Joe?!" Atlas jumps up only to fall forward into Oliver.

"Oh god." Oliver groans, his strength not being able to hold Atlas's body weight.

"You think he's gonna be ok?" George asks as he helps the drunken Atlas off Oliver.

"You think he's gonna need an operation?" Christina says like a scalpel hungry baby—which she was.

"Operation, yes. Ok, hard to tell. Basilar artery's blown up like a balloon. Subarachnoid bleeding. Aneurysm the size of a golf ball." Derek interjects the conversation between the interns and the drunk attending that stands on wobbly feet between Christina and Oliver.

"No way to clip something like that." George shakes his head.

"Not without magic fingers. Or drunken buddy boy over here." Christina throws her thumb to the side so it's pointing at Atlas.

"Or a standstill operation."

"You're doing a standstill? He's doing a standstill operation." Christina excitedly grabs the drunken males shoulder and shakes lightly, which still makes Atlas dizzy. The attending moves out of Christina's grin and towards the nurses station where he bends over and throws up.

"I'd like to try. First I need some additional patient history, overnight labs, and a cerebral angio." His eyes never leave Atlas, he moves to go towards the male but Oliver throws his arm it.

He tries to hand the chart to Eliza and Meredith who stand together. They both push it away, not wanting anything to do with the attending who had caused Atlas some trouble. As much as they wanted to do the surgery, they wouldn't.

Atlas had sobered up a few drinks, and now he was able to walk steadily without his brother, but he still had his arms wrapped around Oliver anyways. They are walking out the front door as Derek catches up to them.

"Atlas!" Derek shouts.

"No! Go away!" Atlas turns on his heel and stares at the neurosurgeon.

"Just wait. We should discuss this." He pleaded.

"W-what? You wanna discuss? We were dating!" Atlas drunkenly says.

"At least let me explain." Derek pleads once again.

"Explain? You wanna fucking explain? Explain to me why you decided to go on many dates with me and even sleep in my bed. Wear my clothes! Let me wear your clothes! And then you just end up married?!" Atlas shouts, his voice wavering as his eyes fill with tears.

"Look, I know how you feel."

"Y-you know how I feel? It feels like you ripped my heart out of my c-chest." Atlas cries.

"Doctor. Shepherd, maybe you should leave." Oliver says as he starts to help Atlas back towards the direction of their car.

"Atlas please."

"I am so fucking close to running you over with my car!" Atlas takes a few steps and hits his fists into Dereks chest as he cries. Oliver helps pulls him off the neurosurgeon and towards the Lee-Sunny car, watching as Derek gives them a sad look before heading inside.

"It'll be okay, Atlas." Oliver hugs his older brother tightly, letting him cry into his shoulder.

"It'll be okay."
