A week later and you'd just finished what felt like the 1000th interview. You were starting to get sick of your new album. The reaction to your relationship with Bucky and Loki hadn't gone down well initially, people were saying you were being selfish and all sorts of nasty things. After posting an official statement over social media, things got better, the support from the Avengers helped too.
You spoke to your boys over the phone most evenings but the last couple of days you'd just been too tired. You missed them and wanted nothing more than to go home, a couple more weeks and the press tour would be over. You then had a month where you had nothing before the performance tour began. You couldn't wait to spend it sandwiched between Loki and Bucky.

As you flopped onto your bed exhausted a light flickered on in the corner. You immediately bolted upright, grabbing the handgun that was hidden under your dress. You pointed it at the man in the corner, soon lowering it when you realised who it was.
"Do you have a death wish?" You asked slotting the gun back into its holster.
"You're a hard woman to get hold of Agent Stark." Nick Fury sat back with his legs crossed.
"I haven't been your agent for a long time Nick. What is it exactly that you want?" You barked at him, you were tired and in desperate need of sleep.
"I need you for a mission." Nick watched as you poured yourself a drink before sitting on the sofa opposite him. "I'm retired remember."

"Still. You were the best we had, right now I need the best." He threw a folder in your direction. Placing the drink down you flicked through it. "An intel run? Surely Nat can handle that?"
Nick nodded his head in agreement. "She could, but it's on a S.H.I.E.L.D vessel that's been hijacked. Nat is dealing with the hostage situation, I need you to get me the information."

That is how you found yourself in the middle of the Indian Ocean, on a covert mission. You were finishing hacking into the software when the door came bursting open, two men falling through it. The second you saw the blonde hair, you knew who is was. He sat out of breath, looking down at the man he'd obviously just been fighting with. "Great. They sent you."

Steve's head snapped up at your voice, he quickly checked the man was still unconscious before standing up, making his way to you. "I thought you were on that press tour?"
You turned your attention back to the screen in front of you. "Call it a pit stop. Fury called me in." You hated the man stood beside you, but the mission had to come first.

Don't let your emotions cloud your judgement.

You repeated the mantra over and over in your head as he got closer to you. "Fury? Why?" Steve turned to look at what you were doing, unsure of what you could possibly need to hack into on this mission.
"Obviously because you, old man, are fucking useless when it comes to this shit. Nat is busy being awesome, so here I am."
Steve was trying to stay calm, he'd wanted to talk to you since the day at the compound, but he hadn't been able to get close enough to you. Shaking his head he turned to you. "Not the time for hurtling insults Y/N."
You finished downloading the last of the data onto the USB drive, grabbing it you looked at him. All you could see was him telling Bucky your relationship was wrong. "Just fuck off Steve, let me do my job in peace."
Steve turned to you as you stood up. You could see how irritated he was, him and Bucky had the same tell. It was a twitch in the eyebrow. "Stop being a brat Y/N." He regretted snapping at you the second the words left his lips but it was too late.
"Watch your mouth. Bucky and Loki are the only ones that get to call me that." Hearing him refer to you as a brat had you feeling physically sick. You went to storm past him but he grabbed your elbow, stopping you. "Why did Fury call you of all people?"
You looked down at his hand before looking back up at him. "Get your fucking hands off me before I do it myself." His grip lessened but he didn't let go. "Tell me."

When he still didn't move his hand you ripped it from you. Placing a kick straight to his chest. Steve went flying backwards, before crouching on the ground. You sent another swift kick to his face, sending him on his ass. As he sat there rubbing his jaw, you flipped round and landed, your foot mere millimetres from his special place. You smiled at him. "I don't have to tell you shit." You backed up, giving him space to stand up, you expected him to retaliate, to hit you back but he didn't. He simply placed his shield on his back. "I'm not going to fight you Y/N, no matter how much you hit me."
