Loki held his hand out to you, a reassuring smile on his face.
"Come on, one dance and then you can go and get drunk with Thor." He knew you were dreading the traditional dance that was required of you.You placed a shaky hand into his, letting him guide you onto the dance floor. The whole of Asgard looked on as Odin sat in his throne. He'd never admit how proud he was as he watched Loki lead you onto the dance floor.
A candle was placed in Loki's right hand. Your heart pounded in your chest so hard you were sure that everyone could hear it.
As you got into position, Loki transferred the candle in-between your hands. Both of you holding onto it as his other hand rested at the small of your back. His cold temperature helped to calm you slightly.
"You know I hate dancing like this." You grumbled.
Loki pulled you closer to him.
"I'll make it up to you." He promised with that signature smirk on his face. You knew what he was insinuating and it almost made you buzz with excitement."I'll hold you to that."
Violins started to fill the air with beautiful music. Loki gracefully spun you round the dance floor, his eyes never leaving yours. He belonged in this world. You couldn't understand how Odin had missed how easily Loki slipped into the role as Prince. Carrying himself with poise and elegance.
The candle stayed lit, no matter how fast he led you around. You lost track of time, losing yourself in the dance with him. When you spun you out from him you noticed the music dying down. Loki was beyond proud of you, you'd done the one thing you were dreading.
Gently easing you back into him, he blew the candle out as Bucky came to your side.
"Now we show them how Earth does it." He gently took you from Loki, pulling you into the middle of the dance floor.
You rested your hands on his shoulders.
"Just like our wedding day should've been." You beamed up at him as a more upbeat piece of music began to play. The small detail meant he'd planned this. Something that only made you happier. You began dancing in the goofiest style you could imagine, no rhyme or reason to it. Polar opposite to the dance you'd just done with Loki.
Bucky spun you round in the air, both of you giggling as the people of Asgard clapped and cheered you on. He dipped you so low you nearly hit the ground before lifting you into the air. He kissed you as he gently set you back down. Both of you were out of breath and happier than you had since you'd set foot on Asgard. When the music ended, Loki came over to you. He kissed you both before whisking Bucky off for a dance. You watched on in contentment as you watched them dance together, smiling at each other.
As the ball began to wind down you finally managed to find Thor. He was sat with some of his friends that you were yet to meet. He introduced you to Fandral and Volstagg who were drinking wine as though it was water.
You settled in a chair next to Thor sipping on a glass of wine as they reminisced over past battles. Thor raised his glass, smiling at you.
"To our future Queen!" He declared with a wink.
"I think not Sparkles." You corrected him, having no plans at all to rule. You couldn't think of anything worse.
Bucky and Loki joined you, both of them looking rather flushed. You knew that look in an instant, Loki's unruly hair only confirming what you already knew. They'd disappeared to celebrate tonight in their own way. You knew they'd happily repay the favour for you later on. Bucky placed a kiss against your chest as he sat beside you. Loki wrapped his arm around Bucky's waist as he sat the other side of Bucky.
