You and Loki were laying in the bed you shared in your new home. You never went stupid when you bought your first house, it was modest. 3 bedrooms, an en-suite bathroom and the most beautiful view of the city.
Loki turned to you with a smile. "I think having us appear as dating rather than husband and wife went well darling." You notice him snuggling closer to you as he spoke, it was something he had just recently started doing but it made you smile.
"It was bound to make him jealous." You remember the look in his eyes before he stormed off, it was the look you'd wanted for months. Yet it came and it didn't make you happy like you thought it would.
"You know he was there right?" Loki looked at you, wondering what was going on in your head. He could read your mind if he wanted to but you'd told him clearly to just ask you outright.
"I saw him leave when Jimmy mentioned marriage." You kept replaying that look over and over again.

Why aren't I happy?

You almost scolded Loki for asking you that exact question until you saw the look on his face. If he had read your mind he would've already known that answer. It was because deep down you didn't actually want Bucky to hurt the way he'd hurt you.

You turned to him and placed a hand on his cheek, he leaned into your touch. It was moments like this that made him that much angrier at Bucky. How could he give up something so special? Loki knew you were hard work, you and him bickered all the time. Yet he wouldn't change a thing about you.

"I know how you feel Loki. Yet you've never pushed me to move on. Why?" You looked at him and all your saw in his eyes was adoration. He smiled and you felt your heart flutter, your feelings for him slowly starting to develop. You always knew he was attractive but being the only one that saw that softer side to him was more appealing than anything. Then he had to go and open his mouth, causing them feelings to develop even more. "Because I love you. I want you to come to me, but not until you are ready."

There was nothing you wanted more than to love someone other than Bucky but you didn't know how. You rolled over onto your back, not being able to see the look on his eyes any longer. "What if I'm never ready to make that commitment?" You didn't dare look at him, the fear that you'd lose him was too much.

Loki saw the worry written all over your face. He softly turned your face to his, he wanted you to see how sincere he was when he spoke. "No matter what, I'm by your side. Always darling."
He took a chance and placed a soft kiss on your lips. The second his lips connected with yours, you melted a bit inside, he poured all his love into that kiss, along with all his promises. You didn't pull away like he thought you would, so he took a chance and placed a hand on the back of your neck, pulling you closer.

You mimicked his movement and placed your hands either side of his face, trying to pull him closer to you. Rather than him try for anything more you felt him slowly pull away, resting his forehead on yours. Neither of you opened your eyes, neither wanting the moment to end. "When you're ready." He whispered before placing another soft kiss to your lips.

This time when he pulled away he looked at you with a smile. You couldn't help but smile back.
"Let's sleep Loki, it wouldn't surprise me if we have visitors tomorrow."
You snuggled down into the bed, your back to his chest. It didn't go unnoticed by you that when he pulled you closer to him, you could feel how your kiss had truly affected him.

Loki felt you smile in the pillow and how you shuffled backwards, his hard member poking you in the back. When you moved to get comfortable he growled in your ear. "I'm trying to be a gentleman, pet. I'm not a saint, go to sleep."
You couldn't help but smile.
"Goodnight Loki."

The next day passed quite uneventfully. You watched Loki cook breakfast from the kitchen island, he was dressed in nothing but a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms. His muscles on display, you sat watching him while sipping on your coffee. You can't help but think what would have happened if he hadn't pulled away from the kiss last night. Would he have been rough with you or gentle and soft?
