Bucky is sat talking to Nat and Tony as Steve walks in. He's sporting a lovely black eye and a cut over his cheek. "What the hell happened to you?" Bucky asks, Steve may have been an asshole but unfortunately he's still his best friend. Steve sat down with a sigh. "Your ex wife kicked me in the face."
Nat started smiling before pulling it back, trying her best to keep a straight face. It didn't go unnoticed by Bucky though. "Y/N is in England, how is that possible?" He knew you were in England, you'd shown him the view from your hotel room that morning.

Nick Fury walks in the room, noticing the tension in his team. It was why he'd called you in, in the first place. He'd hoped to get you all working together, you may have retired but you were still the best at your job. He wanted you back, not off galavanting around singing. "I called her in." He stated quite simply. "She's the best, I needed the best."

Bucky saw red and stormed up to him and got in his face. "Next time, you call me or Loki in, you leave her out of it."
Nat knew he was protective over you but she also knew how pissed you'd be at him making decisions for you. "Bucky calm down. You know as well as I do that Y/N will decide for herself if she wants to go on a mission or not. It's not like she hasn't done this before."

Tony can't help but beam with pride at you actually working with Steve. Sure he had a few cuts and bruises but they all knew if you truly wanted to do him any harm, he wouldn't be stood here now. "Remind me why we haven't begged her to come back? Why is she off singing and not working with us?" He knew you enjoyed the singing but your heart would always belong to helping people.

"Your sister is an amazing asset to this team. Right now the one thing stopping her, is him." He pointed straight at Steve. "She won't work with people she can't trust, and she trusts him as much as a mouse trusts a cat."
Steve sighed and shook his head. "How can I make things better if she won't talk to me?" He knew he had a lot to make up for, but between her stubbornness and her boyfriends, he couldn't get close enough.
"Maybe because you've been a fucking dick Steve." Bucky stated with a shrug of his shoulders. He knew Steve would eventually make things right, it wasn't in his nature to leave things the way they were. Yet him and Loki wanted Steve nowhere near their girl, he'd hurt her enough.
Steve couldn't deny what Bucky had said, he simply hung his head, feeling ashamed of how he'd treated both you and Bucky.
When Steve didn't answer Bucky simply stood up and left. He had a date he intended to keep.

You were getting ready to leave your hotel, your last interview was coming up. You'd told everyone the tour was two weeks longer than it actually was. You couldn't wait to see the faces on Bucky and Loki when they woke up the day after tomorrow and you were home. The only one that knew you were coming back was Tony, he was sending a driver to pick you up. You heard your phone ringing with the ringtone you'd set for Bucky as a joke.

With a smile you answered the phone. "Hi beautiful. Is there something you need to tell me?" Bucky asked before you'd even said hello. You put the phone between your ear and your shoulder as you began putting your boots on. You knew he'd find out about your little excursion as soon as he saw Steve. "Hi Bucky Boo." You sang sweetly down the phone.

"Y/N Barnes. Don't even try it." He knew what you were trying to do and it wasn't going to work.

"Ok fine. I may have made a slight detour."

"I'd call it more than slight." You could hear the worry in his voice and you couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. You didn't want to worry him, it's why you didn't tell him in the first place. You realised in that moment that you'd shouted at him for doing exactly what you'd just done. You'd kept secrets from him.

"I'm sorry Buck, I should've told you. I just didn't want you to worry. I know that makes me a hypocrite, but it was honestly nothing I couldn't handle." Your curiosity got the better of you at that moment. "How's Steve's ego? Is his pride at least wounded?"

Bucky could hear the childlike excitement in your voice and he had to try his best not to forgive you there and then. "Doll..." He warned you, even you could hear the smile in his voice that he was hiding. He was proud of you, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud. "No more detours. Come home."

"Soon I promise. Give Loki a kiss from me." You finished getting ready, grabbing the leather jacket that you'd pinched off Bucky, you threw it over your shoulder. Grabbing your keys you walked out the door. "Look I gotta go Buck. I love you ok?"

Bucky sighed, he knew he couldn't convince you to come home. No matter how much he wanted to. "I love you too. No detours!" He dropped his voice an octave, sending shivers down your spine. You knew he'd done it on purpose, using his bedroom voice to make you listen.

Brat mode activated.

Feeling brave due to the distance you smiled down the phone. "We'll see Sergeant Barnes."
You hung up the phone before he could say anything. You knew you'd come to regret it when you got home but you would worry about that in a couple of days time.

Bucky heard the phone disconnect and knew why you'd done it. You'd gone major brat on him, just before his date with Loki too. Growling into the phone he put it in his pocket and headed to the bar where Loki was waiting. He sat down with a huff. "What's the matter?" Loki asked with a smile knowing there was only one person in the world that could put that look on Bucky's face. You'd done something he didn't like.

"She went on a mission. I only found out because she injured Steve in the process. Not that I'm mad about that." Bucky huffed as he took a sip of his drink.

"You two used to go on missions all the time. What's the actual problem Bucky?"

"I can't protect her if I'm not there, or if she doesn't tell us she's going." Bucky pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to keep the incoming headache at bay. Loki smiled at him and took his hand in his. "She doesn't need our protection love." Loki would protect you until his last breath but it was because he wanted to, not because you needed him too. "Has she ever shown you the extent of her magic?" Loki asked rubbing circles on the back of Bucky's hand.

"Not in a long time. Why?" Bucky tried not to snap at him but he was stressed and worried about you. He hated knowing there was a chance that you were now off on another mission. His temper died down slightly when he looked over to the TV and saw you were doing a live interview. Loki followed his line of sight and smiled seeing you. Turning back to Bucky he turned his face so he was looking at him. "She makes me look like a harmless puppy." He proudly stated. Sure you still lost control every now and again but your power was unparalleled. Loki still had no idea where your magic came from, it was something that bugged him, but you'd forbidden him from looking into it.

"You've never been harmless a day in your life, Lo." Both of them smiled at the nickname Bucky had for him. Loki hated nicknames but from his lips it just made him smile. Loki knew he was fighting a losing battle, there was no way he could talk Bucky into calming down. Finishing his drink he stood up and held his hand out for Bucky to take. "Come on, you're never going to sleep when you're like this."

Bucky placed his hand in Loki's. "Where are we going?"
Loki pulled Bucky into him placing a kiss against his lips, his tongue battling Bucky's for dominance. Most of the time Bucky won that battle, Loki happy to switch for him, however tonight was different. He needed to take care of Bucky and he made sure that was obvious through his kiss. Pulling away he smiled at Bucky.

"To get our girl. Obviously."
