This isn't goodbye

You walk with Thor up to the roof, both of you sitting on the soft chairs Tony had put up there. Not many people came up there, but you spent lots of time up in the fresh air, especially when you needed some quiet time. Using your powers you light the fire, causing Thor to smile.

You play with your hands, needing answers but afraid to get them. "Tell me the truth Thor, why does Odin want him to go back?"
Thor looks to you, seeing the heartbreak in your eyes. He doesn't pretend to understand the relationship you have with his brother, but he can see the change in Loki, he's becoming the man Thor always knew he could be. "I do not know Lady Y/N. I can promise to bring him back to you though." Thor would protect his brother the best he could, and he knew he would not return without him, even if it meant going against his father.

You scoffed at him, not believing a word, Thor had left him in Asgard once before. "Don't make promises you can't keep Thunder."

"I swear to you Y/N. I will not return without him."

The thought of being without Loki caused tears to form in your eyes, you looked to Thor as they fell. "I can't lose him Thor. I just can't."
Thor wiped the tears from your eyes, he hated to see you like this. You deserved happiness, after everything you'd been through. "Does Mr Barnes feel the same way?"
You smiled shaking your head slightly. "They're too stubborn to say it out loud, but spend a minute in a room with them Thor. You can see how much they love each other."
Thor thought about the few times in your absence, he'd seen Loki and Bucky together, you were right. The three of you together just clicked somehow. "I'm amazed how your relationship works Y/N." He admits as you look at him confused. "They are two of the most possessive men I have ever met. Yet you've found a way for them to love not just you, but each other as well."

You smile at Thor, having thought the same thing yourself. "It works because it was always meant to." You think back to your relationship with Bucky, the way you two always argued, you loved him but there was always something at the back of your mind. Something that wasn't quite right. "It's why me and Bucky didn't work together, just the two of us. He's our missing piece Thor." Another tear falls as you try to smile at him. "That's why he has to come home."

Thor stood pulling you to your feet. "Go and say your goodbyes little mortal." You glare at his nickname, causing him to gift you with one of his larger than life laughs. You can't help but laugh along with him. Thor pulls you to his side, ruffling your hair like you would to a child. "I'll bring him back to you I swear." You pull out of Thor's grip, punching him in the arm.
"You ever do that again, God or not I will destroy you."
Thor laughs and pushes you gently towards the door.

You head back to your room, on the way you're stopped by Nat. "Sparrow? You've been crying. Who do I need to kill?" She teases but you know that she would do just that if you asked her to.
"No one Nat, or maybe Odin, that remains to be seen." You give her a quick hug before walking off, stopping just outside your door to shout back to her. "If I need to go on a killing spree to Asgard, you'll be the first one I ask." Nat laughs and shakes her head at you as she leaves. You walk into your room seeing Loki and Bucky laying on your bed. Loki leans against the headboard with his arms and ankles crossed. He gives you a look. "So...I'm guessing you heard all that?" You laugh as he holds his arms open to you. As you crawl into his lap, Bucky moves to sit against him. Loki runs his fingers through your hair. "Yeah I heard you darling, but under no circumstances are you to go to Asgard. Do you understand me?" He tips your head up to face him, placing a kiss against your lips. As you pull apart he doesn't let the fact that you didn't answer him go. "Darling. Please. I don't want you anywhere near that place."

When he looks at you the way he is, he makes it really hard to say no to him. You groan and lay your head on his shoulder. "Fine, but if I find out he's hurt you, I will break that promise." Sit up to look at him. "I will promise you a lot of things Loki, but I can't promise to sit by if I can help you. Now do you understand me?" He chuckles and pulls you in for another kiss. Bucky can't help but smile at both of you. He knew how protective you could be, even he would never want to cross you when you're in that mood.

The next few hours were filled with very few words. Before you knew it, it was time for Loki to leave. You pulled him close as Thor knocked on the door. Bucky got up to let him in, you could tell Bucky wanted to say something, but he looked at you and saw how upset you were. Instead he walked straight over to you, pulling you into his arms as Loki finished putting on his armour. "It'll be ok doll." You don't respond, instead you hold onto Bucky, your fists pulling at his shirt. Loki comes over and places a kiss on your head, pulling you from Bucky.

Linking his hand with yours you all start walking through the compound, you and Bucky either side of Loki. You turn to Thor. "You better bring him home, Thunder."

"I gave you my word."

Bucky looks over to him. "Your word doesn't mean a thing. Just make sure he comes back." Loki squeezes his hand, hoping to calm him down slightly. Thor stops walking, turning to look at both you and Bucky. "I know how much he means to both of you, I will ensure he returns safely." You want to believe Thor you really do, but something in your gut has you feeling uneasy.

As you get outside Thor walks ahead of you, his red cape swaying in the breeze. He turns to Loki. "Brother?"
Loki turns to you, seeing the look on your face breaks his heart but he doesn't want you or Bucky to see how worried he truly is. "Don't pout darling, I'll be home soon." You pull your hand from his, crossing your arms over your chest. "I'm not pouting." You definitely were but you refused to admit that. Loki took a step closer to you shaking his head. "Yes darling, you are. As adorable as it is, it won't stop me from going." He uncrosses your arms before placing them round his neck, as he puts his hands on your hips. "Bucky will look after you my love. Just try not to set him on fire if he annoys you."

You laugh knowing he's only joking. "Just come back to us Loki ok?" You lean your forehead against his, breathing in his scent. He puts his lips against yours as he pulls you closer to him, his hands rubbing circles at the bottom of your back. He pulls away before you're ready causing you to whimper. Placing a kiss on your forehead he turns to Bucky.

Bucky looks at the floor, scratching his neck. "Just...erm...come home?" He wasn't sure what to say, being open about emotions wasn't Bucky's strong point. He lifted his head to look into Loki's eyes and felt the words slipping out before he even realised what was happening. "I love you." You smiled watching them as Thor came to your side, you looked up at him before focusing back on Bucky and Loki.

Loki pulled Bucky into him, their lips crashing together. By the time they parted both of them were gasping for breath. "I love you too." Loki smiled before kissing Bucky again. As they parted, Loki walked over to Thor, as Bucky pulled you into his side. You wrap your arms around him as the bifrost opens, you shield your eyes from the light. As you look back you notice that Loki and Thor are gone. "He'll come back doll. Why don't you go and get some rest?"

You go back to your room and pull Loki's jumper over your head, as you reach inside the pocket you feel a piece of paper. Pulling it out you see the elegant looped handwriting, you know instantly it's from Loki.

My darling Y/N,

I'm guessing that I've just left, you've currently run into our room and thrown this jumper on. Do me a favour my darling girl, don't sulk. You can start by getting rid of the frown that is currently plastered over your face, and wipe the tear that's running down your cheek.

You can't help but smile, even without being here he knew exactly what to say to you.

This isn't goodbye. Have fun, go dance up on that stage, or go and fight some bad guys, either way do it with that beautiful smile on your face.
I know you'll be there waiting with open arms the day I come back, that is what I'm holding on to.

Don't push Bucky away and try to deal with your anger alone. He loves you and you love him, now stop pouting and go to him, he's hurting too.

I love you my darling.

All my love,
Loki.

As you sat holding the piece of paper to your chest, the last person you wanted to see appeared at your door.
