The dull thud throbbing through your head pulls you awake. You place your hand against where the pain is and feel a bandage there. "Fucking ouch. Why do I feel like I was hit by a bus." You grumble as you struggle to sit up on the bed. You look around for Loki or Bucky. Steve steps out of the bathroom in a vest and jeans. It's then that you realise you're not at home or in the compound. The events prior to waking up remind you of why. "You're awake." Steve states throwing a towel into the corner of the room.
Your hand holds on to the injured area, trying to numb the ache. "Steve. Where are we?"
He sighs before making his way over to you. "Safe. For now at least."

You scoff, watching him as he sits on a chair next to the bed. "You're safe for now. I'm screwed."

"What do you mean?"

You sigh, placing your legs over the side of the bed. "Someone at SHIELD obviously knows that we know. If they don't get to me first, Bucky and Loki will." You shiver thinking of how that is going to go. "I think I'd rather face another missile."

"They'll come around." Steve tries to reassure you, but you both know they are going to be beyond angry.

You try to smile at him, ignoring the headache that is getting worse. "That before or after they put me on house arrest?"

"I won't let that happen." You know from the way he's looking at you, that he truly means it. After everything you never thought Steve would be the one you got stuck on a mission with. Yet you were glad that you were, you felt safe. Well as safe as you could be with a secret organisation hunting you.
"What happened to the Steve that hated me?" You didn't really mean to say it out loud, but it was out there now. He looked you directly in the eyes before he smiled at you. "He grew up."
You returned his smile before laying back down on the bed. The pain in your head was making you dizzy. "Where are we and what do we do now?" Your eyes closed as you tried to block out the light.

You could hear Steve moving about before he tapped you on the arm. Opening your eyes you saw him stood next to you with some pills and some water. "We're at one of Clint's safehouses. Don't worry, no one knows we're here." He thrust the water and pills at you. Sitting up you take them, the water tasted like liquid gold. "How long was I out?"

"About twelve hours."

You knew that wasn't a good sign, but let's be honest, you'd been through worse.
"To answer your question." Steve sat down on the bed beside you. "We bring it all down." The small smile on his face had you rolling your eyes at him. "You make it sound so easy."
Steve laughed as he stood up, throwing on a shirt that was easily two sizes too small. It reminded you of Bucky. Apparently it came with being a super soldier, you could only wear shirts that didn't technically fit. Your heart tugged at the thought of Bucky. You missed him, more than anything. You knew there was going to be hell to pay when you got back. Not just with Bucky and Loki, but Tony too.

Steve stood in the doorway, completely oblivious to the war raging in your mind. "Well, we've taken on Hydra once before. What's one more fight?"

You sat up slowly, testing to see if the painkillers had taken effect yet. When the room didn't spin, you smiled. "First food. Can you cook?"

Steve laughed. "Not unless you count toast as food."

"Crap." You muttered, there was no way you were functioning without food. An idea came into your head. "Are we anywhere near New York?"

Steve nodded his head.

"Good. I know this place that does the best take away burgers. You go grab them and I'll make a start on finding a way to take down Hydra."

After you'd been gone for over a day, Loki and Bucky couldn't sit around any longer and wait. They headed to SHIELD headquarters. Throwing open the door to Nick Fury's office, they stormed in.
"Where the hell is she?" They both asked in unison.

Nick spun around in his chair, facing the two extremely angry men. "I wish I knew. She's run off with my intel." He knew there had to be a reason, but all the information he had was that you and Steve had retrieved the device and gone off grid.

Bucky's anger flared as he rounded Nick's desk, pulling him to his feet. "I told you not to send her on missions." He growled before Nick slightly pushed him off him. Straightening his jacket, Nick looked at Bucky. "Contrary to your opinion, I don't answer to you."

Loki gently pulled Bucky back, before taking his place. Glaring down at Nick who stood a good foot shorter than him. "You may not answer to us, but how will you function when your heroes turn against you?" He could see Nick gulp as he tried to hide his fear. "When her family come looking for her. Who will be left to protect you then?"

Nick knew he had to give them something, he risked not leaving the room alive if he didn't. Everyone knew the only thing that kept Loki's anger in check was you. Bucky could too but not while he was feeling the way he was. "Her and Steve went on a simple intel mission. Not long after they went radio silent. That's all I know."

Taking Loki's hand in his, Bucky pulled him towards the door. He'd find you if it's the last thing he did. Luckily, he had an idea on where to start. Turning back to Nick, Bucky kept his face straight, containing his rage the best he could. "No one follows us. I'll find them."

Bucky drove Loki home, neither of them saying a word the entire drive back. Nothing would calm Loki apart from you, Bucky knew that and he wasn't going to try. As he pulled up, he laced his fingers through Loki's. "I need you to stay here."

"Why?"

"Because I think I know where to find them, but until I'm sure the both of us will draw too much attention."

As much as Loki wanted to argue that he should be there, he knew Bucky was right. The main priority had to be, getting you home safe. Reluctantly Loki agreed. The pair shared a deep and passionate kiss before Loki stepped out the car. Leaning his head down to the window he smiled at Bucky. "Bring our Queen home Bucky."

"You know I will. Go wait in the bed, I'll be back soon."

Bucky could see the way Loki's face lit up with the instruction. "Now Loki, and get rid of the clothes while you're at it."

With a sharp nod, Loki had to try not to run into the house. Bucky sped off, reminding himself not to take it out on Loki if he couldn't find you.
