Everyone was sat around in one of the larger meeting rooms. Take out containers littered across the table. You sat on Loki's lap, knowing this was affecting him more than anyone else. A screen displaying all the different infinity stones sat in front of you all.
"Loki, the space stone. What can you tell us?" Steve asked in full Captain America mode.
"You mean aside from the fact Thanos has it?" Loki snarked back, tensing underneath you. His voice dripped with sarcasm as he glared at Steve. He was less than impressed with the plan everyone had come up with. He wanted nothing more than to simply hide you and Bucky away from it all and move on.
"Love," you turned cupping his cheek in your hand. "That's not exactly helpful right now." You knew your touch would calm him slightly, the way it always did.
"No, he's right. Start with something else." Tony stated as he walked in, piled with as many to go coffee cups as he could balance. The smell of coffee wafting through the air, something all of you were in desperate need of.
You snapped your head to Tony, not entirely sure you'd heard him right. "Did you just agree with Loki?" You looked at Bucky who was sat next to you. He shrugged his shoulders, as speechless as you were.
"Apparently so. Moving on." Tony waved your comments away. Loki chuckled underneath you, pulling you closer to him. He needed the contact, all the talk of Thanos had him on edge.
Thor interrupted, standing before pointing at the screen displaying the reality stone.
"The reality stone isn't actually a stone, but I can get to it. It's locked away on Asgard." You went to ask where, how hadn't you seen it when you'd been there? You were stopped by Nick Fury waltzing in like he hadn't been missing for months.
"The power stone is on Xandar. I can make a call."You watched as each screen became update showing who would be going to which stone.
"The time stone?" You wondered, it was the one no one had any idea where it was.
An orange glowing circle appeared in the corner of the room. A well groomed man in a red cape stepped through. You felt your hand heating up, a flame appearing in one hand.
"That's where I come in." He explained, barely glancing in your direction.
"And who the hell are you?" You stood, ready to attack and defend those you loved if you needed to.
The man cocked his head to the side, rolling his eyes. "Doctor Stephen Strange. I have something you need."
You scoffed. "And we're just supposed to trust you?" You could feel the tension growing in the room. No one was in the mood for trusting strangers right now.
"No, you trust me." A voice appeared from behind him. Bruce walking out from goodness knows where.
Tony paled as he looked at his friend in his shredded clothing.
"Bruce?"Glances were passed around the room, none of you entirely sure what the hell was going on. You shrugged your shoulders.
"Well that changes things."Doctor Strange proceeded to do a series of funky hand gestures before the pendant on his neck unlocked. Sitting proudly inside was the time stone. Your eyes widened as you struggled to concentrate on anything else. Strange placed the stone in a specially designed briefcase on the table, making sure we all promised to return it when we were finished.
"So the soul stone?" You asked, wanting to get this over with as soon as possible.
Bruce stepped forward, gaining everyone's attention. "Hold on. We still have to figure out how to get the mind stone from Vision."
"Without killing him in the process." Wanda added, placing her hand against Vision's cheek. Their love for each other could be felt by everyone in the room. No one willing to trade Vision's life for the stone. It was a price you all refused to pay, especially after what Wanda had already lost. She wouldn't survive losing Vision too.
"Vision is more than just the stone." Bruce offered, his hands talking as much as his mouth was. "There may be a way."
"How?" Nat asked, looking around the room.
"Not me. Not here." Bruce subtly explained, his eyes glancing over to you and Bucky.
Bucky looked at his arm as you placed your hand over where the shard of glass that send you to Wakanda had once sat impaled in your side.
"Shuri." You explained, grabbing Bucky's hand knowing he was reliving the past in that moment. "She healed me, took the programming from Bucky. Maybe she can help?"You stood shakily from Loki as memories of Wakanda and the injury that sent you there threatened to overtake you.
"In the meantime, I need some air."Bucky stood, placing his hands on your hips. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I just need a minute." You tried to reassure him with a small smile. Completely unaware that Bucky saw right through it.
"Get some rest, we'll figure the rest out." He reassured you, placing a kiss against your forehead.
You walked out, breathing out a shaky breath as you stepped out into the empty hallway. Part of you wanted to run, to find Thanos and end this once and for all. Steve's words stopped you.
"We stop him and his army still comes after us."
You knew he was right, you had to do this as a team. It didn't mean you had to be happy about it though.
You headed up through the compound, heading for your old room. You walked in, wasting no time in stripping yourself off leaving yourself in just your underwear before you crawled into the bed. Tomorrow was going to be hard work for everyone, you just had to hope that everyone was going to make it back okay.
Loki and Bucky found you a few hours later. The second they walked in you smiled, shuffling into the middle of the bed so they could lay either side of you like they always did.
You settled on Bucky's chest, Loki wrapped his arms around your waist as he snuggled into your back.
"So what's the plan?" You asked, dreading what the answer would be.
"We've all got places to be doll." Bucky tried to reassure you, knowing you weren't going to like what he was going to say next. "Loki and I are going to help Thor, you're with Natasha and Clint."
"Where are we going?" You asked sleepily as the sound of his heartbeat began to lull you to sleep.
"Vormir."
"I get to go to space? That's pretty cool." You yawned.
Bucky looked to Loki who was clearly hiding the worry about being separated from you. He gently shook his head, hoping Loki wouldn't voice his concerns. The last thing any of you needed was to worry about the other tomorrow.
Bucky knew you'd be safe with Natasha and Clint. Natasha was practically your sister, there was no way she would let anything happen to you and Clint wouldn't let anything happen to her.
Something wasn't sitting right with Loki, the whole thing made him feel sick. It was more than just worrying about you keeping safe. He could almost sense that not everyone was making it back tomorrow. He just hoped you'd find your way home to him, because he wasn't sure how he'd cope if you didn't.
