Loki hovered outside Frigga's chambers, his heart pounding in his chest. He'd never been more nervous to face his mother. The guards walking past knew better than to engage with him, so they simply left him to it. The sound of their footsteps along with his heavy breathing echoed around the hall way. Never before had Loki been so nervous to face his mother. This was worse than when he'd been brought back after attacking Earth.
Just as he was about to walk away, deciding he couldn't face her again; the door opened, Frigga smiling at him.
"Loki. Come in." She opened the door wider, showing him that she was alone.Loki took a tentative step inside, standing awkwardly as he tried to find the right words to say. How do you apologise to the person that has always been there for you? How do you find the words to say what a colossal idiot you've been? He decided to go with the truth.
"I owe you an apology." He blurted out before he could change his mind.Frigga smiled. "You owe me nothing my son."
"You've done nothing but love and support me. I love you mother." Neither of them could remember the last time Loki had said that to anyone other than you and Bucky.
It warmed Frigga's heart in ways she never expected. Without giving Loki a chance to put his walls back up, she wrapped him in and embrace. Both of them clung onto each other tightly, tears in their eyes.
"I love you too."***
You'd gone looking for Loki, determined to make it up to him. Perhaps not in the same way you had with Bucky, but you needed him to know how sorry you were. As you were heading towards the gardens you bumped into Thor.
"Thunder. Have you seen Loki?"
"He was with mother last time I saw him." Thor informed you.
He was fixing his mess, making you feel even guiltier for pushing him away. You'd done to him what you'd shouted at him for doing to Frigga.
"Have you decided what you're going to do?" Thor asked, pulling you out of your thoughts.
You fell into step beside Thor, linking your arm through his as you walked from the palace into the streets of Asgard. Smells of things you'd never seen before filled the air as the market began to come to life. People hustling about as they carried on with their lives. A few stopped to say hello to you and Thor, all of them bowing in respect no matter how much both of you protested it.
"I think going home is the best idea. Figure out what our future holds." You tell Thor as you accept a rose from a young girl. You thank her before moving on, twirling the rose between your fingers.
"Do you still feel the flame?"
"More and more with each passing moment." It was taking everything in you to not run to the weapons vault. It's what was pushing you to go back to Earth. You didn't want to be a threat to Asgard, especially after spending time with the people.
"You could stay." Thor offered. "Learn to control it."
You shook your head. "I don't belong here Thunder."
Thor stopped walking, turning to face you. "You belong wherever they are, you know that."
"I know, but all this?" You gestured around you. "It's beautiful, more beautiful than I ever could've imagined. It's just not home, not for any of us." You knew how Loki felt about being back here, while it was an amazing place, it just wasn't where any of you belonged.
"You know I'll support you. Just be careful."
"Darling." Loki called out, smiling as he came towards you.
You walked over to him, pulling him in for a kiss not caring who was watching you. You'd missed him and he needed to know just how much. By the time you pulled away you both chuckled slightly out of breath.
"I'm so sorry Loki." You told him, taking his hand in yours. "I never should've pushed you away. Please forgive me love."
"There is nothing to forgive my darling, Bucky told me everything. I think it's time we go home."
You couldn't have agreed with him more in that moment. You were more than willing to get away from Asgard and back to building your life back home. You could learn to control your powers there, that much you were sure of.

Back on Earth everyone had been hunting tirelessly for Thanos. They knew it wouldn't be long until you or the boys took matters into your own hands and went looking. They wanted to find him before that happened, before one or all of you got yourselves killed to prove a point. Especially knowing how stubborn you could be.
An alert on the holograph of the nine realms alerted Nat that something had been found. She zoomed in as the unidentified planet was illuminated. A lump formed in her throat as she looked over at Steve.
"We found him."Steve knew this news was bittersweet. You, Bucky and Loki had been on cloud nine since returning to Earth. This news wasn't going to go down well with any of you.
"What's the plan now?""We need all the stones, it's the only way we can destroy him and his army in one go."
"I'll go tell them, hopefully they'll listen to reason."
Steve knew you were all at your house outside the city. He started up his bike before joining the busy New York traffic. The journey didn't take too long, but it seemed like mere minutes as his mind ran a thousand miles an hour unsure about how any of you were going to take the news.
He parked the bike as you came to the door. You'd heard him coming, the way he walked up to the door didn't fill you with confidence.
"You've got your bad face on." You greeted him before opening the door to let him in. It was amazing how far you'd come with Steve, now he was one of the people you trusted most in the world. If he was at your home looking like someone had kicked his puppy, you knew there was bad news coming."I know what you three are like. You're likely to act before I finish talking." He walked in, settling on the sofa as Loki pulled you onto his lap so Bucky could sit the other side of Steve.
"What is it Steve?" You asked, grasping Loki's hand in yours to help keep your anxiety at bay.
"We found Thanos."
All of you tensed, you knew this day was coming; especially after what had happened at your wedding, you just hoped you had more time.
"What else?" Loki asked. He kept his grip on you, holding back his concern at the news.
"He has an army. One bigger than we've ever faced before."
Bucky sighed, running his hands through his hair. "Which means just killing him isn't going to be enough."
"We beat him. His army still comes after us." Steve looked sadly at you, dreading the reaction you were going to have to what everyone had discussed while you were away.
Your heart was pounding in your chest. Thanos had caused you too much hurt, you just wanted to end him once and for all. Having complications to that was only adding fuel to the fire inside you.
"Tell me you have a plan." You snapped unintentionally. Lokis grip around you tightened, pulling you closer to him."We have the beginnings of one."
Bucky knew too well the look on Steve's face. "Why do I get the feeling I'm not going to like it?" He sighed.
"Because Y/N is at the centre of it."
You silenced Bucky and Loki with a simple hand gesture as they tried to argue against it. They didn't want you in harms way, that you could understand; but this was about more than you. Odin had made it clear that it was you that was going to be the end to Thanos. This only confirmed that theory. You had to think of the rest of the world, the lives you could save.
"Tell me everything."
