Complicated (Reader Avengers Romance)

I hear Paris is nice this time of year

"I told you last night! The answer is no!" You shout down the phone as you walk along the busy streets of New York. You'd gotten up early and decided to leave Bucky and Loki in bed while you walked to the compound. Your heart thumping as the anger surged through your veins.

"And I told you what would happen if you don't." Sharon replies back to you, no emotion to her voice.

"I won't lie to everyone I care about."

"I don't really care. If threatening to tear your life apart isn't enough, then I'll resort to something else. Get me the sceptre, or when I get someone else to do your dirty work, the first person I come after will be Bucky. Loki will follow soon after." She threatens down the phone, you don't much care about what will happen to you but her threatening them sends a shiver down your spine. You need to come up with a plan and quickly, she can't get that sceptre but you need her to think otherwise, to avoid someone else doing it for her.

"Send me the location." You bluff as you round the corner, nearing the Avengers compound.

"That's better." You can hear the smile in her voice. "You have 36 hours or the whole world finds out who you really are, and what you've done. Don't let me down Y/N.

She hangs up and you let out the breath you didn't realise you'd been holding. As you walk through the doors you immediately shout out to FRIDAY. "FRIDAY, is Thor about?"

"Top floor living area Miss Stark. Also Mr Stark would like to remind you that his name isn't Thor around here."

You laugh as you step into the elevator. "Remind Tony that I'm his sister, it's my biological right to ignore everything he says."

"Of course Miss Stark, I'll pass your message along."

As the elevator climbs up the building you can't help but feel like it's going at a snails pace, thankfully no one else gets on, meaning you don't have to hide your anxiety too much. When you finally get to your destination you hear Thor shouting, well to him he was talking, but his voice was so loud that to anyone with normal hearing it sounded much louder. He was arguing with Tony over who the strongest Avenger was. You roll your eyes as you walk in. "Thor? A word?" You motion towards the balcony, not stopping to see his reply, you know he'll follow you. You step outside, leaning against the railing, watching the hustle and bustle of the city below. From up here it's like you're in your own bubble, you can see everything but it's so quiet.

You hear Thor walk up behind you, he places a hand on your shoulder, concern written all over his face. "Lady Y/N, how can I be of assistance?"
You quickly fill him in on what Sharon has told you, his face contorting in anger as he hears how she's threatened you and Loki. Sure he cared about Bucky too but Loki was his brother and you meant as much to him as a sister would. You placed your hand on his arm, trying to pull him from his thoughts. "They can't find out Thor, neither of them can."

He nods in agreement, if they knew they would insist on coming too and that would put Loki most of all in great danger. They already knew Asgard's healers would not be able to reset his mind a second time, not without side effects. "Even if we get the mission set up and you manage to get away without them knowing. What then?" He asks watching you, you smile at him, knowing you could rely on him to help you, without treating you like you'd break if you accompanied him. It was why you had gone to him rather than Tony or even Nat in the first place. "You take it to Asgard, far away from him. There is nowhere more secure than Odin's vault right?"

Thor nods his head, and you turn back to watching the city below you. Taking a deep breath you carry on talking, without looking over to him. "If the whole world finds out about me, so be it. As long as they are safe." You look to Thor who has a sad smile on his face. "That's all that matters Thor."
