as may was walking back to her car, she got a call from damon but she declined it. when she looked up, she saw cade standing by her car.
"why are you following me?" may asked him.
"because i'm not done with you. i've been wondering what happened to enzo's spirit since the moment of his death, and, finally, i have my answer. when enzo died, you screamed. and something extraordinary happened at the moment of your deepest pain. a powerful psychic blast created an entire world. a private dimension linked only to you. hidden, even from me. do you realize how rare that is? in all my thousands of years, not a single person alive has ever done anything like what you did. like... what i did. but, sadly, enzo's soul belongs to me." cade said.
he placed his hands on may's temple, making her gasp. she felt the wind behind her pick up and she pushed cade off of her.
"stay the bloody hell away from me!" may told him.
"so, not only are you hiding enzo from me, but you believe kai parker could be out in the world. how long have you suspected this?" cade asked her.
"look, i don't know anything for sure." may replied.
"if you think you can continue to harbor secrets from me, you truly do not understand why they call me the devil." cade said, threatening her.

may left and she tried contacting enzo again. this time she did it at his cabin.
"enzo. i'm here. i'm here, please, i know you're out there. if you can hear me, i need you." may spoke out.
"hello, love." she heard.
she turned to see him at the door way and she ran into his arms.
"don't ever leave me again." may said with tears in her eyes.
"oh, believe me, i don't want to." enzo told her.
"so, is this really you? are you really here?" may asked with a smile.
"it is really me. but i'm not really here." enzo said.
"are you part of some psychic world that i created?" may asked him.
"none of that matters now. all that matters is you." enzo said before he pulled her into a kiss.
may never thought she'd feel this happy ever again. she wanted this feeling to last forever.

may had spent the night at the cabin and the next morning, she got a visit from stefan.
"may." stefan said making her look up at him, fueling her anger.
he saw may was pouring herself a drink and he could tell by her state, she was drunk.
"you're drunk." stefan said in a sad tone.
"i'm still sober enough to kill you darling, so don't push your luck. there's nothing you can say, stefan." may said coldly.
"i understand. but i wouldn't be able to live with myself if i didn't try." stefan told her.
"well it's a shame, isn't it. i've learned that a good human skill is knowing when to shut up." may said as she looked at stefan.
