"so what does your boss think of your daily hobby of tracking crime reports?" stefan asked caroline.
may, bonnie and caroline were together in caroline's office while they talked to stefan on speaker.
"i told her it's like a really dark version of pinterest. did you see the cranberry muffins in the breakroom? i got them at the girls bake sale." caroline said, the last part being for may and bonnie.
"don't mind if i do." bonnie said.
"i'm not hungry, thanks, tho." may replied.
"well, may, you need to eat something. have you had any blood recently?" caroline asked her.
"yes, that's sort of the problem." may said making caroline worried.
she'd never seen may out of control when it came to blood. since lexi had been her best friend, she had always been in control.
"right now we need to be looking for crimes farther away from tennessee. they might have been traveling these past few days." bonnie said, changing the subject.
"okay. i'll widen the search radius. especially now that we know enzo's leaving clues." caroline said.
"i mean, he hasn't left any more." may said.
"well, enzo's playing double agent, so i'm guessing he needs to pick his moments." stefan spoke up.
"there. north carolina. two murders in two different towns just this morning." bonnie said.
"yeah, and both women died of neck wounds." caroline said.
"was there anything strange found at the crime scene?" bonnie asked her.
"all the information they have so far are the victims' names. there's sarah nelson mcgowan. and the second victim is sarah jane nelson." caroline read off.
"what? i'm guessing enzo picked his moment." stefan said.
"what makes you say that?" may asked him.
"because there's another sarah nelson living in north carolina. her real name is sarah salvatore. she's my last living relative. unless damon gets to her first." stefan said.

stefan picked up, caroline, bonnie and may. they were headed to north carolina.
"sarah's mother was zach salvatore's girlfriend in 1994." stefan explained to them.
"hang on. i think i know this story. damon killed a pregnant lady. worst thing he's ever done." bonnie said.
"debatable. but it does make the short list." caroline said.
"what happened to the baby?" may asked.
"the baby survived. she grew up as sarah nelson." stefan told her.
"stefan made sure she got adopted by a loving family. and gave her a trust fund, kept her safe." caroline explained.
"so why would damon target sarah?" bonnie asked.
"he wouldn't. he doesn't even know that she exists." stefan said.
"but she and enzo had a... frenemy thing for a while." caroline said.
"so it was enzo's idea?" may asked stefan.
