may had moved into enzo's cabin. she wanted to feel closer to him.
she had been binge drinking since enzo left, but not with alcohol. she'd been finding anyone she could sink her teeth into.
she was feeding on some guy she found walking in the woods by the cabin. she stopped when she felt her emotions take over.
she took her teeth out of the guys neck and she let his body fall limp on the floor. she didn't like who she had become without enzo.
she wasn't the kind of person that fed on innocent people for sport. the feelings of not knowing what happened to him was driving her mad.
she started to cry, the emotions she felt flooding in were beginning to be too much for her to handle and she just wanted to turn it off.
she closed her eyes, wondering for a moment what life would be like if she turned off her humanity.
before she could ponder more on the idea, her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts.
"do you mind, i'm trying to wallow in self pity." may said answering the phone.
"may, we have a lead." stefan said.

may met up with stefan and bonnie to follow up on the lead.
"look, i know it's not much, but it's a lead. you know, all those missing people along the trail we've been following, and this is the first time a body has surfaced." stefan said.
"probably because it has nothing to do with what we're looking for." bonnie said.
"yeah, well, i can't let myself think like that. i have to treat every single clue like its the one that's gonna lead us to them." stefan said.
"glad one of us is still optimistic." may said.
"what's that supposed to mean?" stefan asked her.
"it's just... every time we do this, i let myself hope a little. and when things end up back to square one, my heart crushes in on itself a little bit more. i don't know how much my heart has left, you know? i almost turned it off this morning." may said.
"may. no one... not caroline, not elena. no one knows how to fight longer or harder or better than you and bonnie. if you guys give up, i won't have anything left to hold on to. please don't give up." stefan said.
"of course. but don't ask us to have hope. hope hurts. i think we just don't want to hurt anymore." bonnie told him.

they arrived at a crime scene and stefan began talking to the guy on the scene.
"excuse me." stefan said making the guy appear annoyed.
"oh, come on! it took me four hours to get control of the scene from the local idiots. now they're letting press past the tape?" the guy asked.
"do we look like press to you?" may asked him, he nodded his head.
"we're not press. we're not anyone. but tell us what you know." stefan said, compelling the guy.
"female victim, strangled, then exsanguinated, or maybe vice versa. brace yourselves. it ain't pretty. we found blood on the grille, not matching her type. blood on the road over there, also not her type." the guy explained.
