Chapter 44

Ari placed the cup of tea on the small table in her house where she and her two friends had gathered.

"Drink this and then go to rest. You went through a lot yesterday and you have yet to get some sleep." She told Seon, who had been in the hospital until late last night and had even driven you and her husband home as he no longer knows her as his wife.  

The truth was that this case was not easy for her at all because she didn't remember anything. She wanted to know why Jungkook went and got into a fight with his brother and if he went for what she was thinking, how did he find out?

Her memory was so vague, having only a fraction of scattered events playing in her head and when she had proceeded and told the girls about the things she recalled, they had let her know that the thing she is talking about has happened days prior. 

She remembered her conversation with you at Jimin's house though. Still, She didn't remember exactly what had happened before that and especially after that nor did she have any collection of the previous days, except that day she had argued with Jimin at her doorstep.

Everything else was just pure blackness in her head, until when she had woke up to see Dae and Ari above her head while she was on the floor of Jungkook's office at their apartment. That memory was the only one she could claim as crystal clear in her mind. 

"I can't sleep, I promised Y/N that if she needs me I will go immediately," Seon answered her since You had asked everyone to be on an alert and available to you in case you were to need anything. 

"They are still at work now and after all, you already stayed up yesterday all night over your phone in case she needs you. You have to sleep now and when you wake up later you will be in a better condition to help her. " Dae reassured her with her words, as she pushed the tea towards her, signalling her to drink it.

And so she did knowing that her friends were right and her tired body made it clear that she needed rest.

"Why were you so close to this guy?" Jungkook questioned you as his serious gaze remained fixed on you. 

"Excuse me? Didn't you see, I was fixing his tie." You told him before you tried to just pass him by but he stepped in your way and blocked your path with his body.  

"Jungkook, please, I have things to do. We are at work, do you remember what we said about my position and what position do you have when we are at work?" You reminded him and he looked at you for a moment before giving you thin smile and stepping aside to let you pass. 

You took a few steps thinking he understood before you heard your name rolling out of his mouth and you turned to see why he had called you again.

"Miss Y/N. In my office. Now!" He commanded you sternly and everyone's eyes fell now on you as they all assumed you had done something wrong again.  

"It is an order from your boss. Dare not come and you will see what happens." He added a smirk resting on his lips before he turned around and walked away casually, looking all high and mighty. 

Oh my gosh! He remembers well how to be a boss I see! He is such a Jerk! Screw my luck.

You cussed him out inwardly before you followed after him, heading to the elevators where due to the movement of labour you were left outside waited to enter one and once you did, it was one that was pretty packed.

A sigh of relief left your lips when you finally got to emerge from the narrow elevator and walk down the hall tiredly until Jungkook's secretary that always stays by the door came into your sight. You greeted her politely and she halted you for she had to check if you could enter as Jungkook had reached there just briefly some minutes before you and after she finished her call, she gave you permission to enter. 

You approached the glass door and pushed it, a need to laugh reaching to your lips as you found Jungkook going up and down with his desk chair for it had wheels and apparently it was fun for him. 

The smile on his lips was adorable one could say as if he was not angry a few minutes earlier.

"Ahem!" You cleared your throat, revealing your presence and he stopped in the middle of his little amusing game in order to face you.

You approached as he proceeded to collect himself, standing up and placing his hands behind his back, playing it serious.

 Did you- ask for me, boss?" You spoke, forcing yourself to keep it together and not burst out laughing, letting your lips flicker in effort.

"You are an office worker. From what I have been informed, your job is not to fix ties and touch models. From now on, please do your job only, Miss. Are we clear?!" His speech was as serious as it should have been, but you couldn't help but laugh at the obvious jealousy that he was expressing for it was a fit of jealousy he had no reason to have to begin with. 

"Why are you laughing? Don't laugh, I'm serious" He said complainingly, crossing his arms in front of his chest as you were now holding your belly from laughter.

"Sorry, it's just unnatural." You uttered as you tried to control yourself somewhat.

"What do you mean, was I not jealous before?" His gaze was full of questions since he was sure that anyone would be jealous if they had such a beautiful woman as you by their side.

Go ask your wife.

You thought before proceeding to leave other words to escape your mouth. 

"I guess not in an obvious way. Can I go now?"

Jungkook stared at you for a few minutes without answering, causing you to wave your hand in front of his face to get his attention.

"Don't space out Jungkook, helloooo." You chirmed jokingly and then giggled as his eyes moved.

Your joy was short, however, as his hand grabbed yours and brought you closer to him, catching you unprepared. 

"After a minute it will be break time. And I will be your husband instead of your boss." He told you as a sly smile appeared on his face, making you cast your eyes on the clock that was placed on the wall, to confirm it. 

"In less than a minute, I can taste your lips." He leaned to the side of your face and whispered, making your body shiver as cold sweat took over you.

You panicked inwardly as now your hearing was concentrated on the ringing of the clock that filled you with more fear as it ticked. 

He smiled sweetly at you as he took notice of the nervousness in your eyes and dared to bring his lips in contact with your forehead, placing a soft kiss that froze you instantly in place. 

"Cute" He commented after he observed how much your eyes had gotten big, but that wave of shock he gave you didn't last long as you snapped out of it and pushed him away before turning around and running out of his office.

Jungkook watched you leave, a smile of pleasure on his lips as he found it very sweet that even though you were married, you still appeared to be getting so shy to his touches.

Now I understand why I married her. She is not only beautiful on the outside. It's because she makes my heart beat in this way that's beating right now. 

He thought as he brought his hand to his heart and smiled at the sound of his own beats. Feeling happy with his life.
