Chapter 72

Sleepless you sat on your desk, your head hanging as sleep threatened to take you.

You had stayed up all night waiting for any news from Seon which never came even though Ari and Dae told you that they had gone by her house and she should have been inside judging by her car in the garage but still Seon had not opened up for them.

Ari had also updated you on Taehyung and Yoongi who had gone to Jungkook and Taehyung had come home in the morning making her curious about what they had discussed and what happened to the pills. Still, Yoongi hadn't bothered to inform you personally of anything even though you now considered yourself involved in the case.

With all this in your head, you ended up not sleeping all night and were now ready to slum your head on the desk and fall asleep, right then and there.

"Y/N... Y/N!" Shin called your name without managing to get your attention until he walked over to your desk and clapped his hands hard near your ears, making you open your eyes which you hadn't even realised that had been closed, to begin with.

"I'm talking to you. Get up and take these files down to the secretariat for me please." He handed you some files before he left and you just sighed not having the strength to complain for you were once again doing work that wasn't your responsibility.

With slow steps, you made your way to the elevator where you entered, luckily finding it empty,  thing that allowed you to lean your head back and close your weary eyes for a few minutes. Minutes that weren't enough to satisfy you as the door quickly opened and you were out soon handing over the files to the secretariat only to be loaded with others that you were asked to deliver to Jungkook's secretary.

Hearing his name had startled you a bit as you still remembered his terrifying visage that had been etched into your memory from yesterday, regardless you still swallowed your fear and did as you were asked.

Once you got to the office, you greeted his secretary who was on the phone and you showed her the files, she motioned silently for you to leave them inside Jungkook's office, which was a room you wanted to avoid but as she seemed to be in an important phone call and you couldn't talk to her and explain that you couldn't do that, you just took a deep breath reminding yourself that this is your workplace and you had to act accordingly.

You knocked lightly on the door before getting inside, feeling a sense of relief when you didn't find him inside. You slowly approached the desk and left the files in a corner, a yawn reaching your lips reminding you of the need to sleep.

Just a minute.

You thought as you sat down in the chair and let your hands become the pillow then leaned back in the seat and closed your eyes. You had only said one minute, but unfortunately, you had not been able to keep your mind awake and one minute in your head had actually become an hour. And by that time Jungkook had returned to his office, finding you asleep on his desk.

He was clearly surprised by your presence but also immediately irritated by your existence, causing him to wake you up abruptly, kicking your chair hard enough to have you jump on your feet as a loud gasp escaped your lips. 

You faced him clearly startled by his presence and the angry look he was giving you which you assumed was due to your transgression and the fact that he had found you sleeping on duty.

"Um. I am so sorry. I came to bring some files and... Sorry." You bowed your head now your fear having awakened your senses for good, the tightness in your throat from yesterday's awkward hold suddenly returning to your mind, making you want to get out of there as fast as you could.
