Chapter 96

It was almost eleven in the morning and Jimin was in his car with some morning pastries and fresh juices in the next seat that he picked up on his way to the company, and he had decided to be more lively from now on and do tries. to return to his daily life as well as to further repair the relationship with his brother and his friends.

He had arranged with Yoongi and Taehyung to meet later for a drink, so for now he just wanted to spend some time with you and Jungkook.

When he finally arrived at his destination, he happily got out of the car and said good morning to the door, left his keys behind, and then continued to wave happily, smiling at everyone in his path.

It didn't take long for him to arrive at your office, bags in hand and a face beaming.

"Y/N~ look what I got for you~" His cheerful voice found its way to your ears and as he turned around you saw him reach your desk and place one of the bags he was carrying there before bringing his face closer to yours and enlightening you.

"Your favourite pie, the dessert you crave and - the juice you love. A package wrapped up by your favourite roommate."

"What's wrong with you lately? Have you started taking those anti-depressants again?"

"Of course not. I don't want to end up marrying people whose names I can't remember again. It's just that things between me and Jungkook are getting better and that makes me feel relieved as well as it made me realize that I should contribute more for things to get back at a regular pace. So here I am. " He explained himself as he grabbed an empty chair that caught his eye and sat down, not really caring whose it was.

It was not like anyone would dare to request him to give it back since he was influential in the company. He already had all eyes on him just because he was there.

"I'm really glad things are going better and you did well that came. He has been acting a little strange today." You told him and Jimin let his confusion show on his face as his head cocked to the side and his eyebrows drew closer together.

"He's been by here a few times since this morning but he hasn't even laid eyes on me. So either he's avoiding me or I might have done something again that I don't know about and he is mad." You explained further and he fell silent for a while as if thinking something over.

"Y/N, if you have a minute, I think we need to talk about something personal somewhere more appropriate than here." His response made you worry and the first thing you did was check with Shin if there was any meeting going on at that exact moment. After he replied with a no, you turned to face Jimin.

"The meeting room is free, if you want we can go there."

"Great. Off we go." He agreed and the two of you immediately got up and headed for the hall.

When you got there and walked in, Jimin offered you a seat before he too sat a short distance away and took a deep breath, not knowing how you would react to the suspicions that had travelled through his mind after you and Jungkook yesterday.

"So...something has fallen on my notice...and I don't want you to take it as a personal attack or anything, but just...maybe, I'm saying maybe, is there something going on between you and Jungkook that I don't know about?" His question left you speechless for a moment but then a wave was born inside you that gave you the need to protect yourself.

" What are you saying? Of course not. What you are saying is impossible. Why should I like him anyway? In his everyday life, he is so messy and unstable that when I have my period I act more reasonable than him. I mean, from where did you even get this crazy thought?!" The way you responded, with such passion and denial, told Jimin the exact opposite since he knew you well. If you really didn't feel anything, you would be laughing by now because you would really see it as something unlikely but you looked irritated instead.

" Wow...You really have feelings for Jungkook. Oh my god. Since when? How? Why didn't you tell me? This is perfect!" Jimin let his excitement surface, making you jump up from your seat.

"You're completely out of your mind, I see. Do you hear what you're saying? Where's the fun in that? Don't you get that I shouldn't even be thinking about him-" You stopped yourself immediately after realizing that your words were in line with his words and they betray the truth that you tried to hide and to yourself.

"Y/N, where's the harm? You're human. And how can I not be happy since as far as I know you've never loved someone in a romantic way? Isn't it great that you finally have feelings for someone?" Jimin's words made perfect sense and made you feel less remorseful but as you sat down again, you couldn't hide the sadness from your face.

"Look I understand the situation isn't ideal but don't take it all on yourself. We both know you didn't do it on purpose. Whatever happened, it's not like it's just lust because I know that's not how you function. Because if it was only physical attraction, all these years together you might have developed romantic feelings for me too. Since I am hot, handsome and all." Jimin purposely made some of his words sound a bit funny as he wanted to wipe that sadness off your face even if only for a while and to his delight, you gave him a smile.

"Don't you think you are too full of yourself?" You jokingly answered him and he laughed quite a bit before getting serious and letting his hand run through his hair as he winked at you, making him look like he was doing some kind of commercial. A thing that had  you both laughing like idiots for a few minutes.

"Why does the fact make you sad, though?" Jimin couldn't let the conversation get out of line so after the laughing stopped, he put his hand over yours for support and asked you this question.

"As you also said, who wouldn't want to have feelings and get to know what love is all about, but in my case, we know that he won't turn his eyes my way and he won't have feelings for anyone else but Seon. I don't deserve to be anyone's replacement."

" Of course, you don't deserve it nor would I ever advise you to lower your pride and self-esteem just to be by the side of someone you love. I've done it and here I am. The clear result is that there's no happy ending to it. So that's definitely not a solution. But you shouldn't be so sure that he doesn't have those feelings for you. Because I think he might." Jimin let you hear what he was really thinking about and even though you agreed that there was a small chance that what he said was true, you still didn't want to risk it.

" I have no intention of exposing myself. In time these feelings will disappear, and I will be fine."

"Nonsense. Love is not flu that passes so easily. We both know that."

"And what do you want me to do, exactly? This situation is already hard enough on me, you know." You answered him as the stress about this became evident on your face. And Jimin let his hand reach your hair as he brought his face closer, looking at you sympathetically.

"Don't worry about anything. I'll find out if he has any feelings for you. Right now." He reassured you before getting up from his chair to leave, leaving you to grab his hand in a panic to stop him.

" What are you going to do?"

"Just trust me. Even if he doesn't know his own feelings, I'll see through him. He'll end up betraying himself with what I tell him. You just wait for me."

Jimin left after those reassuring words of his that made you worry more instead of calming you down.

What the hell is he going to say to him?
