Jimin opened his eyes slowly, feeling his eyelids heavy and his vision blurry. His ears buzzed for a few minutes as he let a sound escape his lips then proceeded to move his head and take in his surroundings in order to figure out where he was.
After realizing that he was in his own room, he closed his eyes again, letting his mind bring back memories of yesterday which flashed before his eyes quite clear, making his head feel heavy and giving birth to a certain amount of regret that made him want the earth to open and swallow him up.
"I must go request to make a statue in Y/N's honour. How does she even manage to still tolerate me, I wonder." He spoke softly to himself, regretting every word he had said yesterday and the fact that he wanted to marry a stranger, whose name he still does not remember.
"You woke up!" Jungkook popped up by the side of his bed, suddenly, starling Jimin tremendously as he wasn't expecting him to appear, nor did he know that he was laying on the floor beside his bed, waiting for him to regain consciousness.
"Oh my God, I almost had a heart attack," Jimin uttered as he held his hand over his heart and Jungkook looked at him with worry in his eyes.
"What? Are you in that serious condition? I will call an ambulance."
"What are you talking about! I just said that because you scared me. It was a simple expression, put the phone down!" Jimin caught up to him as Jungkook had already taken his phone out of his pocket.
Jungkook put the phone away soon after they clarified that momentary misunderstanding and the two of them just stared at each other for a moment before their eyes began to wander around the room, each slightly nervous and awkward since they hadn't been in each other's company for a while, just the two of them, especially after what had happened between them.
"Ah sorry about the messages yesterday. If I were in my right mind of course I would have never bothered you." Jimin managed to find something to speak about, making his attempt to explain that he didn't have any intentions of in including him in any mess, nor he was trying to see him.
"I understand but you weren't in your right mind... And... I was worried... So be more careful!" Jungkook replied as if scolding him in a way and Jimin's eyes widened for a moment as his mind was stuck on only one word. And then he just smiled at him, before letting that smile to disappear and morphe into a sad expression on his face.
"At least you still care, even if it's only a little bit. That's something." He let those words echo in the room and then regretted it a bit as the atmosphere fell into silence and a heaviness seemed to exist in the air they both breathed in.
Jimin expected Jungkook to leave after a few minutes, but against his guess, Jungkook simply started pacing around around the room, before going and taking a seat on the edge of Jimin's bed.
"This may not be the best time but, I have some things to tell you." Jungkook finally broke the silence and Jimin slowly rose to a sitting position before giving him his attention.
"I'd like to tell you some things too. Without ending up arguing or hitting each other. You can start first." Jimin answered him and Jungkook turned to face him.
"Sorry," Jungkook uttered and Jimin lost his concentration momentarily as he thought he must have heard him wrong.
" What? "
"I said that I am sorry. I know I've been selfish and didn't give you a chance to explain even though I kind of know more or less." Jungkook went on, now his gaze lowered to the covers as he blurted out thoughts that had been eating him at night for quite a while now.
