The girls had returned to Seon's house after a few hours, all of them unfortunately empty-handed even though they had searched everywhere.
The three of them were now in Seon's room, waiting for her to wake up so they could all discuss what to do together. Unfortunately for them though, Seon didn't wake up until the next morning, finding a half-asleep Dae with her head leaning in her bed while the rest of her body was on the floor and an Ari who had taken a place next to Seon in her double bed.
She opened and closed her eyes a few times until her vision adjusted and just as she was about to move, the door to her room opened, revealing you with three mugs of coffee at hand.
"I can't believe you all. It took me only five minutes to make the coffees and teas and you already dozed off!" You spoke out loud, causing Ari and Dae to jump up, startling even Seon, who they just noticed that she was awake.
"Oh my, Seon you are finally awake. How are you feeling? Are you okay?" Dae asked her as she got up and walked over to her, touching her forehead and realizing that her fever had thankfully gone down.
"I'm fine. Just a little groggy from sleep I guess." She replied in her sleepy voice and Ari then helped her out of her blankets and into the bathroom to freshen up.
"How about someone gets from my hands some mugs before they fall?"You reminded Dae that people only have two hands and she left her eyes to grow wide briefly.
"Sorry, I'm sorry." She took the one mug meant for her and you simply turned and walked out again, heading to the living room where you knew they would gather shortly.
It took a few minutes for them to come down without Seon, leaving you to understand that she most likely had stayed to take a bath.
"Which mug is mine.?"
"The green one," Ari asked before sitting on the couch and taking her mug and gulping down a few sips to wake up as all three of them hadn't blinked an eye, this mug full of coffee counting the fifth in a row for her.
"You have made it so bitter!"
"You are welcome. It was my pleasure to make you coffee for the third time." You replied sarcastically and Ari smiled, reminding you that it wasn't her fault that you lost at rock paper the scissors so many times. After this happy little conversation, the room fell silent until Seon's footsteps were heard coming down the stairs.
"Shall I make coffee?" Dae asked her but Seon refused, for now having priority on something else in her mind and that was Jungkook and the pills which had come back to her memory while washing up along with the last conversation between the girls.
"Can we talk about what we were talking about?" She asked her eyes soon falling on you.
"Y/N, are you sure about everything you said?" She added and you answered with certainty without hesitation.
"Yes, all I said are true."
"If that's the case then I need to go talk to him." She said with a determined look in her eyes.
"But he still has the pills. It's dangerous to go." Dae couldn't help but interrupt in worry.
"There's no way he's going to admit it," Ari added, nervous about what might happen if Seon goes to see him all alone.
"We're talking about Jungkook here. Please don't make him out to be some monster. I know Jungkook and I'm sure if I ask him directly he'll tell me the truth." She told you as she walked away to her room to get dressed, all your eyes on her back, following her figure.
"Are you sure it's a good idea to let her go?" Asked Dae who very much doubted if Seon was in any condition to face a conversation with him.
"We will see." Was the only thing she got in response from Ari as you had called quiet, wishing to yourself that this would go well and that Jungkook wouldn't end up more of a mess than he was yesterday after their conversation.
---Time skip---
Jungkook had woken up this morning alone in bed, with a terrible headache and some memory from last night. All he could remember was the song and Seon's name that was going around in his mind.
He had barely managed to get up and make his way to the bathroom, taking a shower to recover, and after he got out and got dressed, he went to the kitchen and downed some pills for his terrible headache.
As he took two, he sat down and looked at them for a while tempted to take them all but his rumbling belly derived his attention elsewhere. He looked around, his eyes immediately falling on a pot he didn't remember having laid eyes on, and as he approached and opened the lid, the aroma of a lovely soup reached his nostrils.
He touched the vessel curiously, wondering where it came from but then put his questioning aside and simply sat down to eat, having downed nothing but alcohol for several days.
"The taste seems familiar," He thought for a moment as he continued to eat until the doorbell interrupted him.
At first, he ignored it, not wanting to open it but as he heard the keys unlocking the door the spoon in his hands slipped from his grip and he stood up abruptly, dropping the pot of food you stayed up and made for him after he had fallen asleep completely and you had searched all his things, then you had gathered your belongings and left.
You had thought that his condition would be bad when he was to wake up in the morning and that's why you had taken the effort to sit and cook for him, an effort that so easily got wasted, just at the thought of Seon coming home to him.
As soon as Jungkook stepped out into the hallway and faced Seon, he felt his legs grow weaker but at the same time, he felt a balloon of joy burst inside him, making him smile wide with eyes full of adoration at her.
"You came. Finally my love. You don't know how hellish time is without you." He brought her into his arms and held her tightly, his action having caught Seon off guard.
"Jungkook. Please. Let me go. I didn't come to-" Seon tried to explain but his lips falling on hers cut her off and made her eyes widen.
"I missed you baby. I missed you so much." Jungkook looked into her eyes tenderly as he said these words to her, making Seon instantly feel bad inside.
"Jungkook. Please don't do this. I didn't return back to you, I just came to talk about something very serious and I want to believe that I can trust you to tell me the truth." She gathered her courage and spoke directly to him, her eyes showing her seriousness.
"Baby of course and I would never lie to you. Tell me what you want to ask." He reached out and gently touched her hair as he said these words, but Seon quickly brushed his hand off and he pulled away from her, her action having made his previous look that was full of love and joy to turn into a sad one as he felt rejected.
"I know you have some experimental pills in your possession that erase someone's memory. And I know you used them on me. What I want to know is why you started this and when exactly did you start this. And you can't tell me no it's not so, because the gaps in my memory are now countless." Her words froze the blood in his veins and he swallowed his saliva with difficulty, not having imagined that she would come to tell him such a thing.
"Seon... I-"
"I want the truth Jungkook and only the truth. If you ever want to be even a small chance of me coming back to you again. Just tell me the truth." She looked at him with pain and resentment in her eyes as she had a right to know and had been tormented for so long thinking that she had a weak memory and something might be wrong with her health that was causing her this blankness.
"Promise me first. Promise me that if I tell you, you'll stay with me." He told her, his eyes pleading with her for a reassurance that Seon gave to him in order to get him to speak. Not intending to keep that promise at all.
