I recently met this cute guy called Song Minjae. We met in the summer, at the end of the summer at holiday camp and stayed in touch. I am shy around him and sometimes avoid him when he tries to talk to me. Minjae and I found out that we only live a street away from each other. We never met before not until we met at camp. It was a coincidence. Such a coincidence. We see each other sometimes when we are passing each other's houses. I was always afraid to talk to guys until I met Minjae. I still shy away from him sometimes when I don't feel like talking to him. I feel like Minjae is chasing after me and he's wanting more than a friendship but I told him that we are just friends and I want it to be that way. I'm not ready to be more than friends for a while. I think Minjae likes me more than a friend but I'm just not ready for that. We only met  recently so we don't know each other that well. Anyway I am heading out for a walk around the neighbourhood. Maybe I'll go to Minjae's. I don't know yet. If I had a dog, I be going out all the time. I walk down the street and see someone walking towards me. I couldn't tell who it was from a distance as I have poor eyesight. As I get closer I could see it was Minjae. "Hey, Y/ N" he said. "Hey" I say. "Were you coming to see me? I was coming to see you. See if you wanted to hangout a bit" he said. "Ummmmm maybe" I reply. "You were I think" Minjae said. "Just going for a walk" I say about to walk away from him till he grabs my hand and I pull away from him. "You-you seem to be in a rush, Y/ N" he said. "No not really. Just need some fresh air" I reply. "Okay well I'll catch you later" Minjae said. "Yeah sure" I reply. I smile and cross over to the opposite side of the street. I guess I got nervous in front of him and felt like he was going to pull me in for a kiss

I felt rude for brushing past Minjae earlier and not being that friendly so I want to go this evening and apologise to him. I know he's a nice guy so I don't want to upset him so maybe I should go and make it up with him and explain things to him. I have sometime today go over now and see him if he's around if not it'll have to be later. I get on my shoes and walk to the next street away to Minjae's. I get there and knock on the door. His mon answers. "Hi, is Minjae in. I'm Y/ N I love over there" I say pointing in the left direction. "I'll see if he's in his room, Y/ N" his mom said. "Thank you" I smile. I waited a couple of minutes till Minjae came down the stairs. "Y/ N, hey" he said. "Hi, Minjae. Sorry to come by but I feel bad for earlier" I reply. "It's alright. Don't worry. I didn't think you were being rude or anything" he said. "Ah" I say. "There is something about you, Y/ N that I like. Looking at you makes my brain malfunction. Something like that" Minjae said. "We'll you're being dramatic there" I say taking it seriously. "I was meaning it metaphorically. It's a figure of speech" he said. "Yeah I get that I get that. We haven't known each other that long so I want to get to known you better before you know anything happens like we became more than friends or anything" I say. "Yeah I understand that and sorry if I was hinting at anything more" he said. "You're a really sweet guy, Minjae. I like you and glad you have met you. Who knew we would live so close to each other after meeting at summer camp" I say. "I know right. It's a small world" he said. "Yes it is but I just want to apologise to you for acting so bad" I say. "No it's okay. Don't apologise. Don't worry" Minjae smiles putting his arms around me. "Anyway I'll get back now. Just wanted to let you know though" I say. "Yeah Goodnight" he smiles. I turned around and walk back home from seeing Minjae. I just felt really bad about earlier. Don't want to lose Minjae when he's just come into my life. I would feel so bad if I did. He's one of the sweetest and nicest guys I've met

Minjae and I have been getting closer over the last few months. I feel like he is a good friend to me now and we might become more than friends in the near future. Maybe but still I'm not ready for that yet. Still good being friends and living close to each other. Just around the corner from each other nearly. Today Minjae and I are going to the woods behind us. I am making us milkshakes to take with us so we can find somewhere to sit and drink in the woods. This was my idea this afternoon since we both were free and it's a nice day. The woods are a nice place to go on a nice day to hangout with friends or even on your own. I am making the milkshakes now at home and Minjae is walking up to my place. Minjae says he really likes my milkshakes and he says they are better than ones you get in cafes and restaurants. Haha. I think he's being too nice. The milkshakes are made now and i put them in special cups to take with us on our walk to the woods. He arrived outside my front door just when I walked out. "Oh hey" I say. "Hey" he said. "Here you go. Hope you enjoy" I say. "Of course I will. You make the best milkshakes ever, Y/ N" Minjae laughs. "I really don't but thank you for flattering me" I say. "No problem" he laughs. So we leave my place and walk to the nearby woods together as it's part of our plan. Minjae and I walk and talk as we spend time together. We make it to the woods and walk around for a bit sipping on our milkshakes that I made for us for this walk to the woods. We eventually sit on a log together and rest as we'd been walking for a bit. "It's nice here as there is no one around or hardly anyone. Only occasionally" Minjae said. "I know that's right" I reply. There then was an awkward silence between us for a few seconds. "Y/ N" Minjae said. "Yep" I reply. "I really like and enjoy spending time with you. You are a good friend to me now that I've got to know you better. Sorry if I was wanting to rush things at first. I didn't mean it" he said. "Look, Minjae it's okay. Don't worry. We are good friends now and that's all that matters" I say. "Yes it is. Y/ N, i go towards you feeling our connection" Minjae said. "I reach out to you. Don't let me be alone" I say. "Never" he smiles. We enjoyed our time in the woods with our milkshakes did Minjae and I. Looking forward to seeing each other again maybe after tomorrow

It's the day after tomorrow and Minjae and I are meeting again. We thought we'd go back to the place we met at summer camp earlier and do some bird watching. Minjae is quite into nature. His grandad is quite a big bird spotter so he gets it from him. He has brought his binoculars with him so we can spot the birds. We met about 20 minutes ago and we are walking to the field we met at camp now. It's a big open field so we hope no one is there in our way of bird spotting. "We are here. Where we met at summer camp" Minjae said. I smile. We look around in the trees for birds and see some in a tree. "Think I see some sparrows there. Baby ones. They are so cute" I say. "Awwww little babies" Minjae said. "They are tiny too. Little and tiny" I say. We carry on bird spotting for a walk till we saw more. We saw more sparrows as well as tiger shrikes. "Ohhhhh there's a bird over there with a red crest on it's head. Wonder what it could be?" I say. Minjae gets his binoculars and zooms in and looks at the bird. "It's a woodpecker I think" he said. "Is it? I thought they were brown" I reply. "This is a pileated woodpecker. They are a bit different to their friends" Minjae said. "Oh alright. Never heard of one of those before" I say. He then tells me about woodpeckers. I was trying to get some decent photos of the birds. We bird watched for a while and enjoyed it. "Can I see the photos you took?" Minjae asks. "Sure they are not that good though" I reply. "I'm sure they're fine" he said grabbing my phone from me. He looks at the photos and sends them to himself. "I've enjoyed bird watching. It was fun. I wanna do it again" I say. "Me too. Definitely. Something different. Eh" he said. "Yes" I reply. "Y/ N, there is something about you that makes you different to other girls that I really like" he says. "Is there?" I smirk. "Yes. Since we've gotten to know each other better recently and yeah I do have feelings for you, Y/ N" Minjae said. "Yes me too, Minjae. Me too" I say. "Are you ready for this?" he asks. "Yes I think so" I smile. He leans in and kisses me a little on the lips. "You're the first girl I've ever done that to, Y/ N and it feels so good" Minjae said. "Me too" I say. "Mi hermosa Venus because you are so beautiful" he said. That made me smile a lot. Think the kiss stays just how close Minjae and I have grown
