Two weeks had gone by. Laying in his dog bed while Myron fanned him, Pops sighed softly. The old dog had been thinking nonstop about his granddaughter. Olivia was going to be a momma, he was going to be a great grandfather. Unfortunately that also meant those puppies were related to Leonard. But was that such a bad thing?

"You're sighing again," Olivia grumbled from the next bed over. Glancing to his left, Pops saw that his granddaughter was watching him. Sitting up a little, the elderly basset hound murmured, "Apologies, I've just been thinking of things." Wringing her paws, Olivia replied, "It's alright, just don't scare me like that. It makes me think something is wrong with you."

"I'll try," Pops remarked with a grin. Clearing his throat, he looked around and asked, "Is Curly Hair here yet? I need to speak with him." Just then, both basset hounds heard a crash near the window. Picking himself off the floor after he had clumsily tripped over the windowsill, Leonard stated, "I'm here now. Pops, um, what exactly did you want from me? And... do you have scissors?"

"No, Myron took them away from me," Pops admitted. Biting his lip, the old dog continued, "And I brought you here because... I wanna tell you both I'm sorry." Leonard and Olivia were taken aback by surprise. They had not been expecting this. Meanwhile, Pops continued to explain, "I was so scared of losing you Olivia, you're the only family I have left in this world."

"It's gonna be okay Grandfather, I'm sorry I caused you to worry. But everything will be okay, I promise," Olivia vowed, getting up and walking over to Pops. She hugged him, to which the old dog gratefully returned the favor. Glancing over at Leonard, Pops murmured, "Curly Hair, get over here. This is a family hug."

"Wait, for real?!" Leonard exclaimed, his tail wagging. The poodle didn't need an engraved invitation as he jumped into the hug. Myron tried to walk away but Olivia grabbed him, dragging the hamster into the family hug.
