Padding down the sidewalk, Chloe dragged a wagon filled with twelve boxes of doughnuts. One was for Sky and Chase to enjoy together. The rest were for herself. She couldn't wait to devour the delicious treats one by one. The thought made the gray tabby's stomach growl. Swallowing her hunger, Chloe pushed onward.
"Need help?" Ozone's voice caught Chloe's attention. Glancing over to her left, she found the hairless cat lounging upon a rusty trash can. Getting to his feet, he leapt down and approached the gray tabby. Biting her lip, Chloe reluctantly nodded her head. Stepping closer, Ozone took a hold of the handle and, together, the two felines pulled the wagon down the sidewalk. Neither said a word, their eyes fixed on something else other than each other.
After what seemed like decades, the pair finally arrived at the apartment building. "Thanks," Chloe mumbled, her tail twitching uncomfortably. Gazing at his paws, Ozone responded quietly, "It was nothing." Turning to leave, an idea popped inside her head. Reaching into the wagon, she grabbed one of the boxes of doughnuts and placed it at Ozone's feet.
Surprised, Ozone looked up but Chloe was already walking away...
