"Someone remind me how we got stuck with this job!" Buddy exclaimed. In the background, Mel and Sweetpea were having a hard time keeping an eye on both Mel's nephews and Buddy's own nephew and nieces. Meanwhile, Sonya was busy trying to get Chase to stop chewing on a table leg in Buddy's kitchen.
About to walk out the door, Duke and Sky looked at the three dogs and parakeet. Clearing his throat, Duke took a deep breath and explained, "You guys have to watch over the pups because Max and Gidget are on a date, Snowball downright refused our offer, Pops is looking for Leonard and Olivia, we can't ask them because we don't know where they are. Chloe is taking care of herself while Tiberius has his own kids to worry about at the moment. We currently have no idea where Norman is and don't get me started on Ozone and the Alley Cats." Thinking for a second, the mutt added, "And I'm not sure if Pepe is up for the job."
"We're getting paid afterwards, right?" Mel and Sonya asked at the same time. Sweetpea nodded his head vigorously to emphasize their point. Glancing at each other quickly, Duke and Sky left without a word. Looking over at Mel, Sonya muttered, "Jinx."
