A cough woke Tiberius in the middle of the night. Opening his eyes, he instantly looked over at Angel. The younger hawk had been coughing ever since Gidget had left two days before. Even though she said she was okay, the old hawk feared it was getting worse. "Are you alright?" Tiberius asked in a quiet voice, pulling Angel closer to him, careful not to wake up Tobias and Phoenix.
"I'm fine, it's just a cough," Angel responded, the coughing subsiding a little. However, Tiberius noticed that her golden eyes were a little bloodshot and she shivered slightly, despite it being a few days before the end of May. To him, it appeared she had a fever. Concerned, he whispered, "I'm right here if you need anything, you know that?" Angel nodded her head quietly. Sighing, she rested her head against Tiberius's shoulder.
Nuzzling the top of her head, Tiberius spoke softly, "I love you Angel." Looking up at the old hawk, Angel rasped, "I love you too Tiberius." She waited silently for Tiberius to fall asleep before shutting her golden eyes...
