Chapter 20 - Going Nowhere

Kurt and Tobi kissed. Well Tobi kissed him and he pushed her away... she looked directly at me as she did it but obviously Kurt didn't notice.

So she probably still likes him. Who wouldn't? And he pushed her away so that's great. Right?

Then why the hell has his attitude towards me changed?

He barely talked to me after that incident, after that day and hell, three days had passed and he's just basically treating me like a stranger.

"Why do you look so down Ash?" Dave asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? Yeah. I'm fine" I brushed off. "How are you?"

"C'mon what's going on? You've lost your inner... spark... a bit. I don't like that" Dave said. Ashlyn sighed. "You know you can talk to me"

"Yeah it's just... I dunno" She brushed off. "I'll be fine" I told him.

I'd already talked to Taylor about everything relating to Kurt and she just told me to give him time but... I don't know.

"Is this... about Kurt? Cause I've also noticed..."

"Noticed what?" I asked.

"He's been avoiding you. He also seems more down than usual" Dave contributed. "Did you guys have a fallout or something?"

"No. We... kissed" I said. Dave's eyes widened. "Yeah and he seemed pretty into me but then... I saw Tobi kiss him and since then, he's just been so... not Kurt"

"Hmm. Well... have you tried talking to him?" Dave asked. I shook my head no. "Right. He's being a dick. Well whatever he's going through, I don't think he should take it out on you. I say, get even" Dave advised. I raised an eyebrow.

"How so?" I asked.

"You'll think of something" He said as he stood up and ruffled my hair. We changed the topic to some other things before Krist and... Kurt came in.

"Hey... so I was supposed to go out shopping for some stuff with Kurt today but something came up. Ash... you're up for it?" Krist asked.

"Well yeah if you are" I replied. Kurt's eyes met mine.

"Well, Dave would you mind going instead of me?" Kurt asked, turning his attention to Dave. I rolled my eyes.

So it's true. He's actually avoiding me.

That sucks. But I guess I just have to accept it.

"You up for it David?" I asked him with a smile.

"Of course. It's good to hang out with you again" He said ruffling my hair once more.

"David!" I complained as we both laughed. I looked back to Kurt and Krist. I noticed Kurt had his eyes fixed on me but turned away immediately. I sighed.

We both got ready and made our way to the music store at the mall with a list of things of things we were meant to buy.

"New strings, drumsticks, picks and Kurt wants a new pedal. Okay" Dave said checking through the list. "Ashlyn"

"Huh?" I replied. I was looking over at some electric guitars and trying them out.

"I could use a little help" Dave said.

"Oh right. Sorry." I said blushing slightly. "Kurt likes those ones, Krist likes those and..."

"...and I like those" A voice came from behind me which made me jump in my skin. Suddenly I heard laughter as both Dave and the human being were laughing.
