Chapter 43 - Negative Creep

"You know what, I think this is the first time in a while that I feel like I'm actually relaxing. For real" Dave said as he laid under a beach chair and reclined back.

"No kidding. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius" Krist who had his wife Shelli in his arms, commented. "The beach is exactly what I needed."

"Well thank you Novoselic. The pleasure is all ours" Stephanie, who sat on the beach chair next to me said, "Axl and I thought this is exactly what you guys need after these past few weeks of touring, right babe?" Stephanie asked as Axl walked up to us with drinks in tow and an ice pop for Stephanie.

"You've got yourself a good one here" I complimented as Axl laid down on the chair next to her. Stephanie blushed.

"Oh stop it Kurt. And by the way, where's your sweetheart?" She asked.

"She's on her way with Courtney. They went to the mall" I said as I put on my shades and reclined back on the chair.

Other than the awkwardness of sitting in between two lovey-doves couples, I had to say this was a really nice gesture from Axl and Stephanie.

They rented out a beach and invited us, GNR, some of our other mutual musician friends, some members of our touring crew and of course, Tony.

It was moderately crowded but still good enough. Nothing beats some little outside fun.

Dave and Izzy were for some reason playing a version of volleyball in the water so I just decided to close my eyes and relax.

Ah I could get used to this.

But that lasted for about a good two minutes until a volleyball was thrown at my feet which shook both the chair and my umbrella.

"Hey, watch it Straddlin" I warned as Izzy came up to me to retrieve the ball. I didn't need a rocket scientist to tell me he was he one who threw it.

"Lighten up Cobain it was just an acci... holy fuck" He stopped explaining whatever lie he was trying to muster up and sighed deeply under his breath as he looked away in the distance.

Confused I stared back in that direction and my eyes widened.

Coming in the distance was Ashlyn wearing a black bikini with a little shawl wrapped around her waist which barely covered anything. She wore a beach hat and sunshades to match as she made her way over to us.

Well, I don't think I'd ever taken the time out to notice her figure accentuated by very eccentric curves.

Damn. Was it getting hot here or was it the sun?

Izzy stood in the same place he had been standing as he watched her walk up to us looking stunned with his mouth ajar.

Yeah, I'll address that later but for now...

"Hell no. You've gotta change. Wrap that shawl around you tighter. Why is this shawl transparent? When did you get that body Ashlyn?!" Axl yelled which grabbed everybody's attention.

"Oh lighten up Axl. She looks hot. I picked this one especially" Courtney said, taking up the chair next to Axl and putting both hers and Ashlyn's beach supplies on it.

"Yeah. Let her be Ax, she's really cute with it" Stephanie pitched in.

Cute was a total understatement.
