Chapter 24 - Little Ashlyn

I had such an amazing day with Jeff. We had a mini tour around the city and got to catch up on old times. It was really fun.

But ultimately exhausting.

"You had fun right little Ashlyn?" He asked, referencing the nickname he had given me as a child. I giggled.

"Of course. It's a pleasure to hang out with my second big bro" I said, hugging him while we got into a taxi which was taking us back to the hotel.

"The pleasure is all mine. Though I think we're gonna be all over tabloids soon" Izzy said with a wink. I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah... I thought so too. But the press wouldn't really suspect much once they find out I'm Axl's sister" I shrugged off.

"Ashlyn Rose" Izzy pondered. I had told him during our outing about my name change and he seemed to be in support of it. "Ashlyn Straddlin sounds just as good too"

"Heck no." I said with a laugh. "It rhymes off and it lowkey sounds like a pornstars name. No thank you" I joked as we both shared a laugh. Izzy out his arm around me.

"I'm really happy we got to spend time together today. Sometimes I feel Cobain tries to separate us intentionally" Izzy said. I sighed at the mention of that fact.

It was true. And it was obvious.

But I didn't wanna admit it.

"It's probably in your head" I brushed off despite knowing it wasn't.

"Nah. I don't think so. Cobain tried so hard to keep you away from me yesterday. I just went with the flow" Izzy said. "He likes you, you know?"

"Yeah I do" I admitted. "I like him too" She admitted.

"I can tell. There's a but isn't there?" Izzy asked. I nodded. "C'mon sweetheart, I'm all ears"

"I don't really wanna go into details but he's hiding something from me. And until he tells me I'm not sure we can date. Ever" I said with a sigh. "Which is torture but honesty and trust is the bedrock of any successful relationship right?"

Izzy nodded.

"You'll be a great girlfriend. Kurt has no idea what he's missing out on" Izzy said making me blush slightly.

"Well he's had other great girlfriends in the past so he probably does. I mean look at Courtney." I pointed out. Izzy remained quiet for a while as he stared at me as if he was expecting me to say something. "Jeff?"

"I'm here. I'm wondering what you're seeing in Courtney" Izzy joked. I rolled my eyes and hit his arm.

"She's beautiful, smart, talented, confident, a great musician and is revolutionizing women's rock and roll" I stated. I was a fan of Courtney. I couldn't help it.

"And you're not all those things too?" Izzy asked. I sighed. "You literally just described yourself little Ashlyn"

"You're too nice to me Jeff" I said as he wrapped his arm around me.

"I'm just saying the truth. Kurt should know a good thing when he sees it. And if he doesn't, I'm sure there are hundreds of guys out there who would take you in a heartbeat" He assured. I smiled as he rubbed my arm up and down.

"Jeff"

"Yeah?"

"Why don't you like Kurt?" I asked. "You didn't from the first day I saw you guys"

"True. I don't like him at all. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder for some reason. He's a great musician I'll give him that but he's not good enough for you" Izzy stated. I furrowed my brows.
