Chapter 6 - To Be Or Not To Be

"That was some tour" Ashlyn said as we finally finished going around the whole house.

"Yeah you get used to it after a while" I said. "I dunno how long that will be cause I myself haven't" I admitted.

"It is a nice house. I may have to steal it from you someday" She said hitting me playfully in the arm.

Was she flirting with me? I could hear Krist's voice in my head right now telling me not to think about that.

"I'd love to see you try" I replied. "We should probably go meet the guys before they think we got lost or I kidnapped you or something"

"Yeah we probably should" She said with a chuckle. "Thanks for showing me around Kurt"

"Hey it was my pleasure. I'm barely around so I don't really get to show it to a lot of people"

"Oh cause of touring and recording and all that" She guessed.

"No. It just gets pretty lonely sometimes. Since Court and Frances left" I admitted. "I'm kinda fed up here. Was thinking about moving to an apartment in L.A. or something. Something more bachelor-y"

"L.A.?" She asked. "I'm sorry but you just don't seem like..."

"They type of celebrity to love that kinda L.A. lifestyle yeah I get it. But it's not so bad. I mean there are a lot of good places there. And I have been spending a lot of time there"

"Well whatever you feel will make you happy. No one deserves to be lonely" She said.

True, true that.

"There you guys are. We thought you got lost or Kurt kidnapped you or something" Krist commented as we finally made it to the living room.

"Told ya" I whispered into her ear making her giggle.

"He did try to kidnap me though. But I used my martial arts know how to fend him off" She said proudly making each of us laugh.

"Oh yeah sure, I can believe that" Dave remarked sarcastically.

"Dave!" She yelled.

"I'm just being honest... ow!" Dave said exclaiming when Ashlyn hit him in the arm. "What?! Jesus woman you're so violent!" Ashlyn giggled.

"Don't worry, you're gonna love me" Ashlyn said batting her eyelashes at him.

"Oh God!" He groaned making her laugh some more.

I watched them intently as they engaged in their playful banter. I couldn't help but feel a little weird feeling in my stomach. I mean I knew she was a playful person and all but... I dunno. It was weird.

"You look ready to kill" Krist whispered in my ear. I rolled my eyes at him. As if.

"As if. I couldn't care less" I said with a shrug. "So how long have you been playing guitar Ash?" I asked completely changing the topic.

"About 10 years." She replied.

"Formal?" Dave asked.

"No... not exactly. My brother's friend taught me for a while in the beginning but after he uh... I mean I just learnt by myself after a while" I raised an eyebrow.

"You never mentioned having a brother earlier" Krist stated.

"Yeah I know, but uh..."
