Taehyun wanted to enjoy flying and being up in the air but was very difficult to when he has a fear of heights. If this was going to be his life from now on, he would have to get used to it.

Maybe tomorrow. He looked down to the ground and almost shit himself from how high up they were. The tree tops looked like dots. His dragon flew him above the lower clouds, over the storm so he wouldnt get snowed on. However, it was also even colder up here. Kai could feel his blood flow changing as Tae's heart rate dropped. His body started to shut down again.

The dragon dipped lower at an angle and soon they were out of the thick of the storm. Taehyun's heart rate began to pick back up as the dragon transferred some of its energy into the purple scales on its body. The scales started to glow and Taehyun bathed in their warmth. He felt like a cat sprawling around on a heater. "Thank you."

He had no idea where the dragon was taking them but he hoped it was near food. Not that he had any money but stealing wasnt out of the question for a starving 11 year old child.

They landed in what seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. The only thing around was a large holiday gas station but it was abandoned due to the blizzard. Taehyun knew they were still in Minnesota just by seeing that. The baby dragon dropped him off by the edge of the front door and flew off.

Taehyun had no idea if he would ever see it again. He looked around for something to break a window. There was only about 10 inches of snow on the ground compared to 30. This must have been the edge of the storm.

In the corner of his eye, he saw the dumpster. He trudged his way over and began brushing off the area around it for a rock or a brick. His hands started to freeze again but he kept going. There wasn't really a choice.

He found his medium sized rock and began awkwardly running through the snow to the side door. The glass shattered in 3 hits. Taehyun broke the rest of the window so he could slide through the frame. It was still warm inside. He guessed it wasn't cold enough to freeze the electricity out here.

The wind made it through the broken door so he ran to the other side of the convenience store. There was endless amounts of food leftover, just sitting, waiting to be eaten. An egg salad sandwich called his name and he ate 4 of them. He grabbed cold bottle of water and downed it. His stomach was finally full for the first time in weeks.

He made his way over to the bathroom and tested the water heater. It took 2 minutes for the faucet to get hot but it did get hot. Taehyun walked back out to see if he could find some clothes. Surprisingly, he found a cheap long sleeved shirt that said "Minnesota Nice" on it as well as some sweatpants and a cheap pair of sneakers. No underwear though. He figured a thin pair of shorts would do. The clothes on his body were almost frozen.

The faucet ran as he also found himself a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb and a bar of soap. "Wow this place really has everything."

Taehyun brushed his teeth first then stripped everything off of his body and did his best to wash himself. It wasnt easy but he didnt care. The warm water splashing all over him felt like heaven. He used his old clothes to mop up the water on the floor. The paper towels in the bathroom dried him off as best as they could. The new clothes felt refreshing.

When he walked back out, he saw Kai back with blood on his mouth. The dragon licked it off and stared at him with playful eyes. The wings were out stretched indicating they were ready to fly again. Taehyun told it to wait a second.

He grabbed one of the small backpacks and filled it with hygiene products, food and drinks. "Hmm. I didnt miss anything did I?" Taehyun took one last look around the gas station and determined he was set. Kai hopped up and down in excitement when Taehyun began walking towards him. Those beautiful purple eyes were filled with joy.
