Going to California

Taehyun spent the entire summer working his ass off so he could spoil Hyuka for his birthday. His boyfriend really did pay for the plane tickets and the hotel for all three of them to visit. He felt it was the least he could do in return.

Beomgyu and Soobin were doing the exact same thing. They took Taehyun to Mall of America again to find the perfect gifts for Hyuka. Beomgyu opted for pillows to go with his blanket. Soobin wanted to get him a plushy but Taehyun threated him not to so he settled on a citrus cologne. Taehyun couldnt find the perfect stuffed animal until they went into the squishable store. He saw it. A stuffed corgi in an astronaut suit. It was adorable just like Hyuka and the space aspect tied into their song. Now they had their gifts set.

The Minnesotans had a very firm talk with their dragons since they would be alone for a week. It was more so for Kai but they didn't want him to feel singled out.

The rules were as followed.
1. No burning anything down besides food. Another wild fire in Canada started because of them hunting.
2. Stay together.
3. No eating more bison. Bears, moose and deer only for land animals. They've made the population shrink by 1/4 from the previous 2 years alone.

Taehyun looked directly at Kai for this one. 4. No making excessive noises. They didn't need people snooping out the property while they were gone because of it.

5. Be home when they were.
6. No visiting in California. It was too much of a risk. Yeonjun and Hyuka would meet them eventually. Just not now.

Once the dragons were clear on the rules, they began to clean the house from top to bottom. The idea was to come home to an organized environment.

Taehyun dug through his closet and pulled out all of the clothes that didn't fit him anymore. He was now the exact same height as Beomgyu which the older was very upset about. Yeonjun told them Kai was taller than him now so Beomgyu wasnt looking forward to that either.

Once all of the clothes were tossed into a donation bag, he began dusting. Soobin came into his room and offered to take the clothes to goodwill for him. He gladly accepted so he could begin to sweep and mop.

After he finished vacuuming his area rug, he started cleaning the bathroom. The small window had to be opened to let out the smell of bleach. It damn near sparkled by the time Taehyun was done.

At dinner, Taehyun begun to panic. He went on a crazy rant saying "what if he doesn't like me in person? What if he thinks Im too short for him? Yeonjun said he was almost Soobin's height right? What if he gets bored of me?! Im so awkward!"

Beomgyu grabbed his shoulders and began to shake him. "Calm down! It's going to be okay!"

"What if it's not going to be okay!?"

"It will be!"

An anxiety attack was starting for the 15 year old. Soobin shoved a large piece of chicken into his mouth and told him to chew slowly. Taehyun begun aggressively chewing so Soobin put another piece in. There wasnt enough space to continue his nervous chomping so he began to slow down. By the time he was able to get the chicken into his stomach, he was calm again. Beomgyu gave him a glass of water which he happily drank.

Hyuka began calling Taehyun. "Hi! Wait Taehyunnie, put me on speaker." Taehyun did as he was told and set the phone in the middle of the table. "Hi guys! Soobin! Beomgyu! Can you hear me?"

The couple said "yes."

"Yay! Everything is pretty set for you. Yeonjun and I still have classes in the morning but in the evenings, we're all yours! Anything you guys wanna do in particular?"

"The beach and the golden gate bridge" replied Beomgyu.

"Sounds great you guys. I'll see you tomorrow! This will be the best birthday ever! Taehyun, let me talk to you alone for a bit."

Taehyun turned the speaker off and went into his room. "Hey. Im alone now."

"I cant wait to see you baby! Are you nervous? I bet you are!"

"You arent?"

"Not really. I know I love you and I know youre the cutest person I've ever met! Even with the giant muscles. Nice by the way."

Taehyun blushed as he double checked his abs. "Thank you. Are we... are we going to be alone at any point?"

Hyuka started laughing. "Yeonjun told me my birthday present was taking the couple out so we could be alone together tomorrow."

"Yeonjun must really love you then. I cant wait to hear how that goes."

"Theyre going to an arcade then a movie so they dont have to interact too much. Smart if you ask me."

Taehyun looked at the time. His flight was early in the morning so the intelligent thing to do was to get some sleep. "Hyuka?"

"Yes baby?"

"Youre picking me up tomorrow right?"

"Actually my driver is. I'll be in class. Look for the guy in the suit, holding the sign with your names on it. He will bring you to the hotel to get settled in and by that time, the classes should be over. I'll be meeting you guys there."

Taehyun began to yawn. Cleaning all day kind of exhausted him out.

Kai asked "baby? Are you tired?"

Through another yawn he said "no..."

"Awe! Youre so cute Taehyunnie! Go to sleep. You'll need it."

"But Kai!"

"I wont hang up on you but you really should. We're seeing each other tomorrow right? God I cant wait. You're going to be the best gift ever!"

Taehyun yawned again. He told his boyfriend he loved him and then hung up. Before he went to sleep, he double checked to make sure he had everything packed. The couple knocked on his door and wished him goodnight. He fell asleep shortly after.

Beomgyu banged on his door at 6 in the morning to wake up. Taehyun took a quick shower, very thoroughly brushed his teeth then headed out the door. Kai and Sara dropped them off in the parking lot of the hotel near the airport. They walked to the departure gates and checked in.

The time in the air felt like an entire lifetime. Taehyun was so excited he could barely contain his joy. Since they were in first class, they were able to get off of the plane first. Soobin and Beomgyu were yelling at him to slow down as he ran through the airport. The trio found their driver and left as soon as they could.

The hotel Kai set them up in was the 5 star one by Stanford. It looked like you were walking into a northern California mansion. Never in a million years did they think they could be staying in a place like this. The couple got one room while Taehyun got his own. Hyuka figured he wouldnt be spending much time in his dorm. Yeonjun was more than happy to have a room to himself for a week too.

Taehyun quickly unpacked then started doing pushups to relieve some of his energy. He felt as if he could run to Stanford with how excited he was. Beomgyu knocked on his room and asked if he wanted anything from the small convience shop downstairs. He said no so the older left.

After Tae noticed sweat dripping down his forehead, he washed his face again and brushed his teeth. He annoyingly went through every little detail about his hair to make sure it was perfect. He checked his phone to see if his boyfriend was out of class yet. No response. He decided to shave again and moisturize his face. Still no text.

Beomgyu knocked on his door and yelled "I KNOW YOU SAID YOU DIDNT WANT ANYTHING BUT I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU ANYWAYS!"

Taehyun opened the door to see Hyuka standing behind Beomgyu. He was holding a rose and had a huge smile on his face. Beomgyu left and went into his room.

Hyuka took a step forward and offered him the flower. "Hi baby! You look so much better in person!"

Taehyun ran up to him, jumped into his arms then kissed him. It was worth the wait, better than he could ever have dreamt of. He sunk into it and took his time. Slow and tender. He found himself crying from happiness in their kiss. Hyuka pulled back and softly laughed. "Taehyunnie dont cry!" He used his sleeve to dab his tears away while Taehyun took the rose. Hyuka kissed him again. "I love you Taehyun."
