Day 6 consisted of waking everyone up at 5:30am to go to the beach. Hyuka was over enthusastic getting up in the morning. He kept bouncing on the bed until his boyfriend woke up. Taehyun grumbled under the covers. "Not now baby."
"Wake up! It's our last full day together!"
Hyuka kept jumping on the bed. "If you don't wake up soom, I'm getting Beomgyu to wake you up!"Taehyun sat up. He didn't want to know what that meant but it was probably annoying and loud. He saw his boyfriend already in his swim trunks and shirtless. It took him a moment to quit staring and go change himself. He entertained the idea of being with his boyfriend for the first time in his head but dismissed the idea. They could talk about that later.
Everyone met in the lobby of the hotel. Hyuka and Yeonjun especially were excited. Soobin was the least excited. Beomgyu was in the back row, trying to convince him to have fun today. The older began to blow up his arm floaties as the beach came into view. Taehyun promised to spend the first couple minutes with him on the sand so he wasn't lonely.
Beomgyu and Hyuka kissed their boyfriends then ran off into the water.
The three surfers began to have contests. Distance contests, balance contests and tricks.Soobin asked how their conversation went.
Taehyun explained that Hyuka wanted him to meet his parents. He was equal parts excited and nervous.
Soobin said "his parents are cool. You don't need to be nervous. Just don't bring up anything about their grandparents."
"I remember calling at thanksgiving. Are they really that... intense?"
"Don't get me started. We insisted on going one year but Hyuka and Yeonjun kept telling us it was a bad idea. It was. There was a lot of yelling and crying. Yeonjun told us it happens every year which is why they don't go. The food was at least good."
"So... don't mention the grandparents. Got it. Anything else?"
"Hyuka is a copy of his dad. Ask to hear stories. His are just as crazy as his sons'."
"Thanks Soobin. I can't wait!"
The two on the beach were called over to the water. Soobin took a deep breath then got up. Beomgyu ran over and took his boyfriend's hands. They kissed then took off into the ocean. Hyuka was busy being in a drowning contest with Yeonjun. When he saw Taehyun walk over, he grabbed the long board so they could surf together.
Hyuka jumped off mid-wave so Taehyun could be on his own. He floated in the ocean and cheered him on. "YOU'RE DOING SO WELL BABY!"
Taehyun didn't realize he was alone until he whipped his head around to see his boyfriend in the water. "WHAT THE HELL?!"
Hyuka kept cheering as he watched Taehyun get the hang of it. He was flying through the water all on his own. The wind ripped through his hair. He looked really hot on the long board.
Yeonjun picked Hyuka up out of the water on his board. They started pushing each other off. Beomgyu hopped off and started to join the contest. It ended up being an all out balancing competition. Hyuka really enjoyed watching Taehyun versus Yeonjun. He looked so attractive. Best friend versus boyfriend. Hyuka rooted for the boyfriend which earned him being tackled off of the board he was floating on.
They had lunch at a beach side restaurant.
Hyuka dismissed himself to go to the bathroom. When he got back out, he was stopped by two girls who were clearly flirting with him. Taehyun got annoyed as he saw his boyfriend laughing. He walked up to him and threw his arm around his waist. "Hi ladies. This is my boyfriend! What were you guys talking about?"
The girls got uncomfortable. Hyuka apologized then walked back. He whispered "nothing was happening. I'm gay! I thought that was obvious. You didn't need to be jealous."
"I'm sorry..."
Hyuka smiled. He grabbed Taehyun's hands then softly kissed him. "It's okay. But seriously baby. You got jealous of girls? Really?" Taehyun hid his shame in his boyfriend's chest. He was now very aware that Hyuka was still shirtless.
The couple walked back to the table to finish eating. Afterwards, the five of them went surfing again for another couple hours.
Before dinner, Hyuka opted to call his parents. Yeonjun did the same. Beomgyu and Soobin went souvenir shopping.
Taehyun was handed the phone. He kept mouthing "no" but Hyuka handed him the phone. With anxiety in his voice, he introduced himself. "Hi Mr. And Mrs. Huening..."
Mr. Huening said "my wife actually isn't here but it's so nice to finally meet the boyfriend! Hyuka told me you're graduating high school next year! I'm impressed!"
"Ye-yeah. I am."
"That's impressive! I would love to take the four of us out to dinner when we move next year. Meet you officially!"
"That sounds great Mr. Huening."
"See you soon kid. Can you give the phone to my son for a moment?"
Taehyun handed it back to Hyuka. They talked for a couple of minutes. He heard bits and pieces. The conversation seemed to be mostly centered around their move next year. He also heard his father's laugh. His boyfriend really was a carbon copy of his father.
Hyuka hung up and then told Taehyun his father liked him. Beomgyu came back and described all of the souvenirs they bought. Yeonjun came back shortly after. None of them could believe their week was almost up. Hyuka regretted not giving them a later flight.
After dinner, they went back to the hotel. Everyone hung out in Taehyun's room. They began to joke around and talk until it was really late. Yeonjun and Beomgyu could honestly say they were friends. They still argued but it wasn't more serious than when Beomgyu argued with Soobin.
When it was really late, Yeonjun said goodbye to the Minnesotans. He couldn't wait to see them next year. The couple eventually left so Taehyun and Hyuka could be alone. Once they were alone, they started to take a few selfies together. Hyuka kissed him then looked at the photo. It wasn't good enough. They kissed again. He was satisfied with that picture so he set it as his home and lock screen. Taehyun did the same.
The younger kissed him again. Taehyun melted feeling his boyfriend's lips against his. They started making out intensely. Taehyun asked "have you ever...?"
Hyuka shook his head no.
They both were terrified but they wanted to try. It was awkwardly funny. They had no idea what the hell they were doing but that was the best part. Figuring it out together.
The second time, that night, was a little less funny. It was still awkward but they began to learn from each other. It began to feel good.
The third time, they really understood each other. It felt right. They were both pleasantly exhausted by the end of it.
Hyuka fell asleep. Taehyun stared at the ceiling with a smile on his face. Today was the best day of his life. He flipped over on his side to admire his boyfriend who was sleeping so peacefully. He remembered having to leave in the morning. How could he leave the love of his life behind? The only thing that kept him from not crying was knowing it was only temporary. Hyuka turned over to face Taehyun. His fingertips grazed his boyfriend's cheek. "Baby. You need to go to sleep. We have to be up really early."
"I don't want to leave you..."
"It's only temporary. Next year, I'm all yours. I love you so much Taehyunnie."
Hyuka very softly kissed him. His thumb kept grazing his boyfriend's cheek in their kiss. He pulled away to pull Taehyun onto his chest. "Go to sleep baby. I'll still be here in the morning."Taehyun closed his eyes. He listened to Hyuka's heartbeat. They synched. He fell asleep shortly after.
