Hyuka woke up in the morning to Taehyun's annoying alarm. He mumbled "no... don't go to work. I'll pay you to stay with me..."
Taehyun smiled sweetly as he climbed out of bed. "I'm your boyfriend. Not a prostitute."
"Stay with me Taehyunnie."
"I can't baby. It's just a few hours."
Hyuka sat up then rubbed his eyes. He looked at his phone to see a text from Yeonjun. It read "we're cleaning out your closet today!" Hyuka yelled "NO WE ARE NOT YEONJUN!"
"YES WE ARE! JUST BECAUSE WE DO ONLINE CLASSES DOESN'T MEAN OUR FASHION SENSE NEEDS TO FAIL!"
Taehyun put his pants on. He warned "you know you're not winning that argument right?"
Hyuka grumbled. "I know..." He didn't hate it when Yeonjun organized his closet. He hated shopping with him. Everytime his best friend asked how he looked, he died inside. Yeonjun looked good in everything. Even he knew that so Hyuka didn't understand why his opinion mattered when it never was taken into consideration in the first place. This cycle seemed to happen once a season. He looked towards his boyfriend then asked "anything you want while we're there?"
"I'm good." Taehyun finished putting his uniform on. He kissed Hyuka's cheek then left. Soobin handed him a lunchbox as he walked out. He saw Kai waiting for him in the yard. "You memorized my schedule already?"
The dragon nodded. He dipped his head so his owner could climb on. Then they took off into the sky.
Hyuka walked into the living room to see Yeonjun and Beomgyu arguing at the table. Soobin was putting food onto plates. He mouthed "save me" which caused the younger to giggle. He decided to interrupt them by sitting down at the table. "What are you guys arguing about this time?"
Beomgyu whined "why does he always get to hang out with you?! You're actually here now and he still gets you!"
Yeonjun fought back. "Not my fault you didn't bother to make plans with him first!"
"GUYS!" Hyuka rubbed his temples. "Beomgyu. Are you free tomorrow?"
"I have work... I'm free this weekend though!"
"No you aren't!" Soobin served everyone then sat down. "We're going wedding sampling remember?"
"In the morning!"
"You meant until 4pm right? Then dinner? Then we need to get ready for school?"
"I got my textbooks ages ago baby. We can have dinner here but after-" Beomgyu turned to face Yeonjun. "I'm taking MY best friend out."
Yeonjun rolled his eyes. He ate his food so he wouldn't have to continue arguing with him.
Hyuka was so excited. It had been a while since they were alone together. "What are we doing?"
"Taking Sara out. Bring a swimsuit."
The rest of breakfast went argument free. The older three couldn't believe Hyuka was growing up before their eyes. They talked about their younger days before college and responsibility. All were nervous for what was going to come after college. They promised to cherish every moment now before it ended.
Yeonjun took his best friend out. They hopped onto Stella then set off towards the Mall of America again.
Beomgyu and Soobin tended to their land before they went to work. Stocking up on meat was vital since Stella still couldn't hunt for herself.
Taehyun's mood at work was elated. No one could bring him down. Hyuka was here permanently now. Even the rude customers didn't affect him. He hummed to himself while he wiped down tables. His mind drifted to what he wanted to do this afternoon. Obviously he wanted to do something special for Hyuka but he wasn't sure what.
The table next to him contained an old married couple. He overheard them talking about memories they had together. The woman beamed when she recalled a time they listened to music together on the porch. That didn't seem like a bad idea. Hyuka had never heard his playlist before. He listened to a lot of rap and hip hop. His boyfriend was pretty open to everything so he put together a new playlist just for him. It would be all songs he was sure Hyuka had never heard before.
He next imagined them talking for hours while the playlist went on in the background. It was getting colder. They could have hot apple cider and pie. When his shift was over, he asked his boss if there was any leftover pie. Annie gave him half of a lemon meringue. He thanked her then excitedly waited for his dragon in the woods.
Hyuka came home exhausted. He didn't understand how shopping for hours wasn't a complete drain on his best friend.
Yeonjun practically skipped into their house with the bags in his hands. He yelled "COME ON HYUKA!" as he ran up the stairs.
Hyuka stumbled up to his bedroom with his bags. He walked in to see half of his clothes on the floor. The bags dropped from his hands. He scatched his favorite hoodie from the ground. "Hey! What are you planning on doing with this?!"
"Relax. This is the storage pile. The next pile is your 'get rid of' pile."
Hyuka started to fold the clothes on the ground. He knew Yeonjun's organizational system by heart. The folded clothes went into sorted piles for efficiency when it was time to put them in boxes.
The "get rid of pile" was a lot smaller than Hyuka thought it would be. He was relieved to see that. His fashion sense had gotten better from being around Yeonjun so much. He also did secretly love being spoiled by him. It's something he would take to his grave.
Taehyun landed back at the cabin. He put the pie in the fridge then looked around for Hyuka. No one was home. He called him to ask where he was.
"We're at our house. I'm helping Yeonjun go through his closet now that mine is done."
"I'll be right over." Taehyun walked across the property. He saw three large totes on the dirt. Each were filled with thousands of dollars worth of clothes. Their wealth wasn't something he was ever going to get used to. "Need some help?"
Yeonjun bit his tounge. Hyuka answered for him. "He has a complicated system that is a pain in the ass to learn. Trust me. It's not worth learning."
"I believe you. Soobin texted that he didn't feel like making dinner tonight. You guys want me to get anything?"
The best friends simultaneously said "pizza and a coke."
Taehyun left to get pizzas for everyone. He came back to see everyone playing uno at the cabin. His heart warmed as they turned to him and exclaimed "hey!" He set the pizzas in the middle. Everyone paused the game then started eating. He took a glance at his boyfriend's cards. They were terrible.
While they ate, they continued to play. Beomgyu ended up winning. Soobin delt Taehyun in next.
Hyuka tried very hard to keep his cool but his boyfriend was pushing it. Since they were sitting next to each other, he got every +2 and +4 card Taehyun played. And he seemed to get an endless amount of them. His breaking point was a +2 stack that ended with him needing to draw 8 cards. He showed no mercy when he laid down the reverse.
The couples were screwing each other over while Yeonjun laughed at them arguing. He ended up winning that round.
Their night ended with Yeonjun, Soobin and Beomgyu going flying to Lake Erie.
Taehyun played his playlist for Hyuka while they sat on the bed. They had sex first. Then they talked about some of Taehyun's favorite songs. Hyuka asked more questions about his childhood like if he ever wanted to meet his dad again. Taehyun wasn't against it but neither would recognize each other. For all he knew, they saw each other on the street before and had no idea. Their conversation switched to how complete they felt. They had sex again after Hyuka made Taehyun list three reasons he loved him.
The couple was asleep by the time the other three came back. They sat on the couch to game for an hour before calling it a night. Before the husbands-to-be went to sleep, Yeonjun asked "so are we good now Beomgyu? Actually good?"
Beomgyu smirked. "Yeah. We are. You're like the older brother I never wanted."
"Excuse me?!"
"But the one I'm glad I have."
Yeonjun grinned. He went to wash up then took his place on the couch. His feud with Beomgyu was officially over. Now his next goal was to get closer to Taehyun.
