No more distance

Hyuka was rushed into the house so quickly, he didn't even get a chance to say "hello" to the couple. Yeonjun trailed in after to greet them instead. He was a little upset Taehyun didn't bother notice him but he could be mad tomorrow. Today was his best friend's birthday. He asked Beomgyu how the wedding plans were going while Soobin continued to cook.

Taehyun snatched the present from on top of the bed. He hid it behind his back with an adorable grin on his face. "Are you ready for your gift?!"

"Yes! I'm sure it's great cutie!"

Taehyun's cheeks flushed pink as he presented the gift. "Here you go."

Hyuka took the tissue papers out of the shiny blue bag. At the bottom laid ten different plushies on keychains. "Oh my god! I love it!" He held them up one by one to show them off. "This is so cute!" All of them were tucked into bed except one. The small hello kitty wearing an angel costume, got clipped onto his Prada belt. "So cute!" He then took one look at his boyfriend and fell in love for the thousandth time. They made out. It topped off the perfect moment.

Yeonjun interrupted the couple by clearing his throat. When they looked over, he joked "you gonna say hi to me now Taehyun?"

"Oh shit..." Taehyun awkwardly walked up to him. He got pulled into a long hug. "I'm sorry. I really did miss you too!"

Beomgyu opened his arms to Hyuka with a massive smile on his face. He didn't say anything. He just kept motioning for the younger to hug him back.

Hyuka wanted to tease him more but he also didn't want to hear him complain. He ran into Beomgyu's arms and gave him the biggest hug he could. He also forgot he was much taller. The urge to tease him about that was strong. He rested his chin on the top of his head and said "congratulations on the engagement again! You guys are so cute together!"

"Thank you! So what's the plans for the bachelor party?!"

"The what?"

Yeonjun smacked Beomgyu on the arm. "It's HIS birthday! Don't make this about you!"

Taehyun pulled his boyfriend away to the kitchen incase of an impending argument. Hyuka saw all the dirty dishes piled into the sink while Soobin continued to chop away. "Do you want help with anything? Why are you making so much food?"

"It's your birthday! All this food is for us five and your parents too. Wait..." Soobin quit dicing so he could see what the other two were arguing about. Possession over Hyuka. Nothing new. "Anyways, you're not doing anything besides having fun on your birthday! Taehyun. Go make those two do dishes for me. I need to continue cooking."

Taehyun went back and told the other two what Soobin said. They grumbled then agreed to help. When Beomgyu complained Yeonjun was "washing the dishes wrong", he grabbed Hyuka to bring him outside.

The weather was unbearably humid. August was always the worst in this state. The temperature was 92 degrees with an 80 on the humidity scale. High humidity meant it was going to rain soon. The forest sure needed it. They've been in a drought for the past week and a half. Everything, except the pine needles, was completely brown. Fires were restricted in the area until further notice. Canadian fires blew smoke into their territory which made the air quality terrible. Still, the sun blazed on.

Hyuka walked into his cabin with Taehyun trailing behind. They were both sweating from the short 10 minute walk. The birthday boy got into his birthday suit with the intention of cooling down rapidly. He set off to his closet to change. A warm pair of arms wrapped around his waist. Lips fluttered the back of his next. Taehyun teased "happy birthday baby. Ready for the second part of your present?"
