Back to school rush

"Hey baby. Wake up!"

Hyuka's eyes fluttered open to see Taehyun holding a slice of lemon meringue pie and a hot glass of apple cider. "Wow. This is the best breakfast ever!" He took the food then glanced at his phone. "Why are we up so early?"

"So we can beat the back to school rush in town square."

"The what?"

"You know! Where everyone is buying last minute supplies so stores are pretty empty? Hence, the rush?"

"Oh. I guess I've never experienced that before."

"How did you get your things before?"

"Yeonjun. Or my parents. I guess I never asked. Now that you mention it, I did see Yeonjun hand an employee a $50 bill once. I just assumed he was thanking the guy for doing a good job."

"Baby he was paying him for reserving your stuff."

"Oh." Hyuka sipped his cider. "That makes more sense."

"You know, for someone who has literally travelled the world, you're very sheltered."

"I don't try to be."

Taehyun kissed his lips. "I'm sorry. I wasn't insulting you. I was more so observing how unique you are. I wish I was more like you."

"You literally ride dragons every day. You're the coolest boyfriend in the world!"

"Thank you." Taehyun blushed as he ate his slice of pie. He looked at his phone and realized the time. Most people were going to wake up soon. He didn't want to chance it. "Eat faster. We need to go."

Hyuka shoved mouthfuls of pie down then washed it away with the cider. He burned his tounge doing it.

They got ready quickly. Taehyun whistled for Kai. The large black dragon circled the sky then plunged down like a meteor.

Hyuka freaked out upon the dragon's harsh landing. His hair was swept away from his forehead with the impact. Kai appeared to be laughing at him.

Taehyun scolded the dragon. "Hey! I'm used to your weirdness but Hyuka isn't! Take it easy on him will you?"

Kai rolled his eyes. He puffed a large ring of fire into the air then flew upwards into it. He blew another one upon his descent. Kai licked both of his riders before taking off towards the square.

Hyuka still wasn't used to the amazing view. He doubted he ever would be. The scales beneath them started to glow when they climbed higher into the atmosphere.

Kai roared when he saw a small beechcraft plane below them. To the right was a flock of geese in a "v" formation. The couple laughed when they saw Stella chase them down like pac-man eating pills. She chomped them all by the time they flew out of her view.

They landed on the edge of the square. Hyuka hugged Kai then the dragon took off. He heard a lot of noises in the distance.

Taehyun pointed him towards the square as they walked into town. "See?"

There wasn't very many people there but it was more than Hyuka expected at 8 in the morning. The small crowd was watching a woman play the violin. She did it so elegantly. Hyuka imagined her playing in a large concert hall. She looked eerily similar to his ex-girlfriend. A bit shorter but still had the same princess like vibe.

The girl glanced over in his direction. She smiled when she saw how intently Hyuka was watching her. He genuinely looked interested in the performance she was giving. That alone meant the world to her.

Hyuka walked up and put a $20 in her case. He stood to the side and continued to be drawn in to her music.

Taehyun appreciated the music but didn't appreciate how interested his boyfriend seemed to be. He tugged his arm then whispered "baby. The crowd is getting bigger. We're going to be late."
