Night Rider- Tyunning

Day 3 in Cali

Today was a free day for the Minnesotans. Yeonjun and Kai didn't have class but they were going to be spending most of their time doing homework and prepping for finals.

Kai left a little after 7am and promised to be back for dinner. They were going to go out, just him and his boyfriend, then Beomgyu and Soobin were stealing Kai for the night. Yeonjun planned to take Taehyun to Chinatown so he could get to know him more. Their last interaction wasn't exactly the greatest experience.

Soobin knocked on his door a little after 9am this time. Taehyun was already up. Just getting dressed. He told the couple to wait in the lobby while he finished.

When Taehyun came out, the trio decided to go to a different cafe this time. Beomgyu half apologized to Taehyun for taking Hyuka then began to talk about how excited he was.

When he went to the bathroom, Soobin admitted he was going to fake a food illness so he didn't have to go. The older knew he would end up being a third wheel and that wasn't something he was interested in. He had a breakfast alone with Kai the next day anyways. Wasn't missing out on much.

Despite how terrible the last alone interaction with Yeonjun went, Taehyun was actually looking forward to going to Chinatown with him. If he got the best friend's approval, he was in. Next was to meet the parents but that was also something that would wait until Minnesota.

Soobin assured him Yeonjun already liked him because he made Hyuka happy.

Still, the younger couldn't help but be a little nervous.

After dinner, they all split to go their seperate ways. Soobin did as he said, faked a food illness. He went back to his hotel room to catch up on the anime he was behind on.

Beomgyu took Hyuka to the golden gate bridge. They snapped a bunch of photos of them together and then people watched. They told each other ridiculous jokes then caught the other person up with their lives.

Hyuka explained he was moving back to Minnesota sometime next year. He mentioned he already got the clear from his parents to stay with them for up to a month. Yeonjun and him would be doing Yale online classes until he was 18. Then he could decide where to move.

Beomgyu wanted to tell him Taehyun couldn't leave with him but that wasn't his place. It was a conversation the couple had to have with each other.

Instead, he mentioned he and Soobin were taking half online, half in person classes at the University of Minnesota. They could only afford to take two classes instead of four this year so they've been working extra to make up for it.

Hyuka offered to pay their full tuition until they finished college but Beomgyu insisted they were okay. It just felt weird to be offered a lot of money by someone younger than you. Accepting a fully paid for trip felt weird too but it was his best friend's birthday. He wasn't going to say no to that.

After they got bored at the bridge, they went to get ice cream then mini golf. Neither of them took the game seriously. They were loud as hell together too. The owner kicked them out so they went to a different place.

Beomgyu started yelling Hyuka was cheating which made the younger laugh louder. They got a warning. What kicked them out was Beomgyu chasing the younger around the course after he caught him cheating again.

They tried a third course. Hyuka promised not to cheat. The game started off seriously for the first 5 holes until they decided that wasn't as fun. The rules of mini golf got reversed. You had to make the hole in as many strokes as what number hole it was. For example, at hole 7, you had to make it in 7 strokes. Hyuka naturally began cheating at this too. He picked up one of the flags indicating the hole number, and switched it out with a higher one. Needless to say, they got kicked out again.
