Night Rider- Tyunning

December 27th

Taehyun kept staring at the clock during his entire shift. He kept tapping his foot and rushing through customer's orders. Tonight he was going to see his boyfriend sing for him and he couldnt wait. The more he looked at the clock, the slower time went by. He opted to do stuff he didnt have to like clean the windows to kill more time.

A couple of his friends came into the diner. Taehyun served them and they asked if he was excited to see Hyuka sing tonight. He started jumping up and down and said "yes! Oh my god I cant wait!"

Other customers came into the diner so he left to go serve them. His tips were extra good today because of his infectious joy.

After his shift was over, he used the cash to buy himself some new clothes. He took advantage of the discount after Christmas sales and bought a bunch of underwear, socks and bigger shirts and pants. The almost 15 year old was now an inch shorter than Beomgyu.

When he came home, he put his clothes away and ate dinner while continuously staring at the time tick. Youtube, video games and conversation with his roommates kept his mind occupied so he would stop staring at the clock.

Beomgyu plugged in the soundbar to the TV. It was a Christmas gift from Hyuka so they could properly hear the concert the way they were meant to.

7:00 started and the youtube live turned on. Yuna was filming the whole thing with a professional camera. It panned to the full stadium with people surrounding the stage on the field.

Hyuka came on the screen and Taehyun began squealing. He introduced himself. "Hi guys!" The crowd errupted. "Im Kai! Or as most of you call me, Hyuka!" The crowd cheered again. "Thank you so much for coming today! We know its cold so its an honor for you guys to be out here with us! We promise to make it worth it!"

The mic passed to Jake. "Hi you guys. Im Jake!" He paused to let the crowd cheer for him. "We have an amazing show for you guys today! It's an honor to sing with my best friend again. We love you Kai and we cant believe youre graduating this year!"

Vernon took the mic now. "Whats up Im Vernon! How are you guys doing today?"
The crowd shouted "GOOD!"
He laughed and said "that's good to hear. I'll pass it to the man who made this all possible so we can get playing. Thanks for coming!"

Seungmin giggled into the mic. "Hi! Its Seungmin in the..." the crowd shouted "BUILDING!" The band laughed. "Thats right! Seungmin in the building is here! Your lead vocalist. We have such a good show for you tonight! Lets get it! Lets go!"

The stadium lights went off and the TV went dark. They came back on as the music for their first song, "Lighters" by Bruno Mars, began to play. Taehyun watched the crowd turn the flashlights on their phones and wave them back and fourth.

Seungmin came on the microphone to annouce the next song would be an original called "Red Lights". It started off with Seungmin's opening. Vernon took the lower notes, Hyuka got the chorus and Jake shared the other verses with Seungmin. It was a hit. The crowd loved it.

Vernon said the next song was another original called "2 minus 1". Beomgyu bumped his head up and down while air guitaring to it. Soobin laughed and sung along once he got the chorus down. Taehyun's eyes followed Hyuka as he bounced around the stage with his bandmates.

At the end, he pulled Yeonjun up on stage and wrapped his arm around him.
Vernon passed him the mic and he nervously said "hi. I'm Yeonjun Choi." He started smiling and felt blood rush to his cheeks as the crowd began cheering for him. "The next song is another original. I'll be singing it with Hyuka."

He handed the mic to Hyuka. "I wrote this song for someone special in Minnesota." He turned to face the camera and said "Taehyun, if youre watching this, I love you and I hope you like this updated version!"

Taehyun scooted closer to the TV. He yelled "I love you too!"
"Dear Sputnik" started with Hyuka opening. Taehyun couldnt contain his joy as he listened to the new adlibs Yeonjun and his boyfriend put into it. It fit so well while still maintaining the integrity of the original version.

Their solos were next before the half time break. Yeonjun went first as the band cleared the stage for him. He killed it. His dance to "Forever" was simple and fluid. It matched his unique voice perfectly. Women wished they were who he was singing about. He got a standing ovation before he left the stage.

Vernon preformed "Blue World" by Mac Miller for his solo. Jake did "Love Yourself" by Justin Bieber and Seungmin sang "Replay" by SHINee.

Hyuka went last. He took the microphone and looked into the camera again. "Taehyun, this one is for you again." The music played and everyone recognized it as "Still With You" by Jungkook.

Taehyun's jaw dropped. His favorite person in the world was singing a song from his favorite artist in the world. Soobin began to playfull shake him as Hyuka got more into the song. His voice actually did closely resemble the original in some of the verses. His ability to imitate other styles was impressive.
Hyuka made sure to look at the camera often so his boyfriend would know he was singing to him. Taehyun wanted to leap into the screen and hug him.

When Hyuka's solo was over, he thanked the crowd and said theyll be back in 15 minutes.

Taehyun began talking to the couple about the concert. Soobin could see their wedding in his head and it was adorable to him. The younger's friends told him they were jealous and they praised how well their band was doing. He was so proud of his boyfriend. Hyuka hadnt been back to Minnesota in years and he still managed to be a legend.

Jake came back on stage with the rest of the band to let the crowd know they were ready to perform again. Their first couple of songs were going to be group versions of the solos they did in their first concert. To get the crowd pumped up, "So Good" by B.o.B was the first one played. "Thank u, next" by Ariana Grande, followed then "8TEEN" by Khalid played after.

Vernon took the mic and asked the crowd how they felt about k-pop. The crowd loudly cheered. "Now how do you feel about girl groups? Say...a little group called...BLACKPINK?" The audience cheered even louder. Taehyun was extremely excited to see which song was next. The couple behind him started giggling. They were equally excited.

"Tally" began to play and the crowd screamed. Vernon took Lisa's part, Seungmin sung for Rosé, Jake was Jennie and Hyuka was Jisoo.

The three Minnesotans in the living room wrapped their arms around each other and began singing loudly along with them.

"American Dream" by MKTO immediately played next. During the song, Hyuka pulled Yeonjun back up on the stage so they could all sing together. Jumping up and down on the stage with his best friend went into the top 5 moments of his life. The energy from the crowd felt electrifying to the people on stage.

The last song they played was a group version of Hyuka's solo from last year. "Good Times" by All Time Low came onto the sound system and Yeonjun pulled Hyuka into a side hug. The other band members joined their sides as they all sang together. This time it wasnt sad. It was a celebration of all the good times theyve had in New York and all the good times to come.

Hyuka and Yeonjun werent moving until January of next year. They would both be graduated from high school by spring so they would spent the summer and fall touring colleges and packing for Minnesota. Maybe take a trip, just the two of them to a country for a week.

Yeonjun held his best friend tighter as the song came to a close. They bowed and thanked the crowd for coming out. Before Hyuka walked off the stage, he looked to the camera and said "Happy early birthday baby! I cant wait to see you for mine!"

Taehyun blew a kiss to the TV. "I cant wait to see you too."
