Meet the dragons

Hyuka and Taehyun went to their room after dinner was done. They began to just hold each other and talk. The younger was telling him all about the dinner with his parents. He mentioned how much his dad was looking forward to meeting Taehyun. His boyfriend was nervous but Hyuka insisted he would do fine. His parents weren't even that scary. He actually felt more bad for Yeonjun. The Chois were the scary ones.

Soobin knocked on the door and asked that they keep their bedroom door cracked. The other three didn't want to hear or walk in on the couple doing it.

They promised they would. Hyuka knew his boyfriend pretty well but he didn't know anything about his parents other than they died. Curiosity got the better of him so he asked about it.

Taehyun explained he didn't even remember what his dad looked like. His mom burned all of the photos after he left. She got depressed and became a severe alcoholic. He felt like an afterthought as a child. His mom only remembered to feed him when she went to the kitchen for booze. Most of her money went to the liquor store or the bar. He starved for the good majority of his childhood. He could honestly say he didn't miss her. She wasn't around much anyways. Soobin and Beomgyu took care of him a million times better than she did. That blizzard really was a blessing.

Hyuka held him softly. He kept apologizing for no reason. He loved spoiling his boyfriend. Now he knew no one deserved it more.

Taehyun smiled in his arms. He promised that he was okay and he actually was. They talked for a bit more about Hyuka's childhood.

He listed all of the places he lived in. His parents are his examples in life. They taught him how to love and how to be loved. His dad taught him that when you love something, you fight for it until it feels like a losing war. Taehyun always felt like a win. His mom taught him how to be independent. Self reliance was crucial in her life and she wanted her son to be the same way. Hyuka was the best of both of them.

They decided to call it a night. Yeonjun was going to meet the dragons in the morning and they wanted to be rested for it.

The sun peaked through the window. Everyone woke up to the sound of loud, high pitched, roaring in the woods. Yeonjun yelled "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"

Both couples ran out of their rooms to see Yeonjun staring at Stella in the front yard. The baby dragon was teetering around, chasing a butterfly. Hyuka thought she was so cute. He wanted to go pet her. Kai and Sara landed on the grass with prey in their mouths.

Yeonjun ran to go puke in the bathroom. Seeing three dragons devour two live animals made him queazy. He stumbled out then asked again. "What the hell is that?! Are those dragons?!"

The couples looked between them to see who was going to explain it. Yeonjun turned directly to Hyuka and demanded "did you know about this?! What the fuck?! Tell me what the hell is going on!"

"Um... well I tried to explain it to you yesterday but-"

"YOU WERE BEING SERIOUS?!"

"Yeah..."

Soobin took one step forward. "They're not dangerous. The white one is the mother. Her name is Sara. The black one is named Kai. He's her oldest. The silver one is Stella. She was born shortly before you guys got here. Beomgyu and I have been raising them."

Yeonjun slowly sat down. "You guys named one of your dragons after Kai?"

Soobin explained. "Actually Taehyun did. That was before they met too. Just a coincidence. Do you want to meet them?"

Hyuka saw Yeonjun not reacting. The poor guy looked frozen. He offered his hand. "They actually are friendly."

Yeonjun took his hand. "So... this is why you're suddenly interested in staying in Minnesota?"

"Not the whole reason." Hyuka looked behind him towards his boyfriend. He smiled then looked back. "I was told the dragons could fly faster than a plane. The baby doesn't have an owner yet."

Yeonjun looked at the little silver dragon, still chasing the butterfly. He then saw the butterfly being crunched into the dragon's teeth. That was sad. "If she bites me, I'm going to kill you Kai."

Hyuka nervously laughed. He led him outside. All three dragons were looking at them. He waved "hi Kai. Do you remember me?"

The big black dragon charged excitedly towards him. Yeonjun ran back into the house. Hyuka stood still then braced himself for that sandpaper lick. It was much more gentle than the first time. He laughed as he pet the dragon.

Taehyun watched from the window in joy. He pointed at them then said "see? They're friendly! Kai saved my life in the blizzard. No one else can see them by the way. I think the only reason you can is because you're with us. They sense we trust you. So. Ready to meet Stella?"

Yeonjun walked out again. Beomgyu and Soobin followed to monitor the situation. Soobin instructed for him not to move. Beomgyu warned their licks kind of hurt. The baby's licks will probably hurt more since she doesn't have as much self control.

Stella's purple baby eyes twinkled at Yeonjun. She flew up to him, sniffing his hair first then the rest of his body. She sneezed towards a patch of grass and accidentally set it on fire. It went out pretty quickly. She went back then sat down on Yeonjun's feet.

Beomgyu went "awe! Come on! You need to pet her now. She loves you!"

Yeonjun bent down to pet her. She felt oddly smooth for how scaley her silver body was. Soobin explained it's because they haven't hardened yet.

Sara came over to watch her baby. The Minnesotan was terrified of the sheer size of the mother.

Soobin calmly told Sara, Yeonjun was their friend. Sara extended her wing then pulled her baby and the new owner into her body. Her belly began to glow which freaked the Minnesotan out. Stella made baby roaring noises then licked Yeonjun's hand. It did hurt more than he expected it to. He ignored the pain and continued to pet the baby.

Hyuka and Taehyun continued to play with Kai. The dragon picked them both up and threw them on his back. He shot up in the air. It was Hyuka's first time flying so he screamed. Taehyun held him tightly. "THIS IS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO FLY BABY! I'M TAKING YOU OUT TONIGHT!"

Kai kept flying straight up, into the clouds. Hyuka felt the coolness rip through his body. It got colder. He saw the scales begin to glow then he felt heat. Taehyun saw the look in Kai's eyes. He threatened "DON'T YOU DARE!

The dragon began to squeal. He stop flapping his wings then they dropped straight down. The two teenagers were screaming. Kai hovered just before they reached the ground. Taehyun helped his boyfriend off. He laughed at how messed up those fluffy brown locks were. "Are you okay?"

Hyuka collasped against the dragon. "I never want to do that last part again!"

Beomgyu looked at his watch. He told everyone the real estate agent would be there soon. The dragons flew off.

The oldest three went with the agent to the neighbors property. The two youngest went inside the cabin to take advantage of being alone.

Yeonjun made his offer of $400,000 and the neighbors accepted immediately. They agreed to move out within a week. The real estate agent took them to his office to finish the paperwork and make everything official. It was time for dinner once all of the legalities were worked out.

While Soobin cooked, Beomgyu explained the rules to Yeonjun. The couple answered all of his questions.

The younger couple were showering together since they didn't hear the other three come in. Hyuka guessed they were home when he smelled garlic perfuming the house. They finished quickly then made their way out to get changed. Taehyun asked where Hyuka wanted to go tonight. He had no idea. "How about a small lighthouse? We can go to Yellowstone or Mount Rushmore tomorrow!"

"Sounds great baby."

They ate dinner together happily in the living room. Yeonjun kept asking questions to the older couple. The younger couple were in their own world, watching a crappy movie and laughing with each other.

Taehyun waited until nightfall to call Kai. He helped Hyuka onto his dragon's back then packed a blanket and a lantern into the knapsack. "Ready to go baby?"

Hyuka held on to his boyfriend tightly. "I'm ready."
