Soobin told Taehyun they had to start training the baby dragon for his first long distance flight. Kai had never flown farther than the surrounding states before. The goal was to make the whole trip in one night if they were really going to New York for a week.

Before they started, everyone sat down on the dining room table to call Hyuka again. They wanted to confirm he would make time for them since they already got the approval from Yeonjun. The phone rang but as usual, he didnt answer.

Beomgyu tried again. Still no answer. They tried one more time. Hyuka finally answered. "Hey Im kind of in the middle of something right now. Can I call you back?"

Beomgyu argued "what is more important than me?!"

"Oh here we go."

"Here what go?!"

"Yeonjun's flight just landed. I miss you too Beomie. I see him now. Ill call you later tonight, I swear." Hyuka hung up and greeted his best friend.

Beomgyu mumbled into his phone "you better call me later..."

Taehyun hoped he would. He was going to talk to him this time. Every cell in his body wanted Hyuka to know he existed.

Soobin stood up and told Taehyun it was time to start training Kai. Their goal for tonight was to make it to Mount Rushmore straight. Kai could easily fly the hour it took to get there but the baby tended to get distracted. His detours would end up making it double the time. That was the first thing that needed to be trained out.

Beomgyu ascended Sara while Soobin and Taehyun flew Kai. Soobin sat behind Taehyun to help give the little dragon direction. Now that Kai had his invisibility, they could be less cautious going to public places.

The dragons took off with Sara leading the way. Soobin yelled in Taehyun's ear "HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO MOUNT RUSHMORE?"

He shook his head no.

"WELL THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST VIEW IN THE WORLD! THERE'S NO BETTER PLACE TO LAND THAN GEORGE WASHINGTON'S HEAD!"

Taehyun turned around. "WHOA! ISNT THAT ILLEGAL?!"

Beomgyu yelled from up front "NOT IF THEY CANT SEE YOU! TRUST ME AS LONG AS WERE QUIET, THE PARK RANGERS BY THE BASE WONT SUSPECT A THING! WE'RE FLYING AT MIDNIGHT FOR A REASON. THE PARK WILL BE CLOSED BY THE TIME WE GET THERE WHICH MEANS NO ONE WILL SEE US ON TOP OF THE HEADS!"

Taehyun couldnt wait. This was an opportunity that no one else gets. To stand on a national monument! How exciting!

Kai took his first little detour around Currie, Minnesota. He saw fireworks from around the lakes and wanted to play in them. The baby dragon started to spit ball his own flames to mimic the colorful ones from the ground. Sara roared at him from ahead but Kai kept going. Soobin smacked the dragon's snoot and told him to follow mamma. The baby obeyed and they drifted back onto their course.

Sara slowed her pace to be side by side to her baby. They roared at each other for a bit before she flew back ahead. Soobin told Taehyun that Sara was trying to keep Kai in line.

Kai was flying fine until he detoured to Platte, South Dakota. There was a herd of deer roaming the flat lands and the baby got hungry. Sara looked back at Beomgyu with hunger in her eyes and Beomgyu gave her the okay to land. Sara hovered to let her baby hunt first. He needed the practice.

Taehyun told Kai "Jaga" which was his cue to hunt. Soobin was excited to see the progress he's made.

Kai hovered low to circle the herd. Deer started running in different directions. He picked out one of the larger, older ones and spit a ball of fire in front of it. The deer dodged and kept moving. The next fire ball was aimed at the back legs. Taehyun and Soobin watched the deer fall to the ground. Kai landed on top of it with his legs on either side of his victim's body. He bent down and ate a chunk of the belly first.
