Night Rider- Tyunning

3rd week of august

Soobin held Taehyun's shoulders and said "got everything right? Got the money? Not gonna let the house burn down?"

Taehyun giggled and said "yes Soobin. Im just going to be working for a week. You dont need to worry. Kai can hunt for himself so he's fine too. We will be okay here. You guys go have fun!"

Soobin climbed onto Sara, in front of Beomgyu, and said "we will call you tonight! I promise!"

Taehyun waved as Sara flew off. He hoped they would call tonight. That one phone call he had with Hyuka was something he couldn't stop thinking about. The warm feeling he instantly got from someone he had never met. Hyuka just made him feel comfortable and happy. He smiled fondly at the memory as he went to bed.

Yeonjun and Hyuka were staying up in the living room, talking about the week they had together in Canada. They were doing their best to stay awake but the two from Minnesota wouldnt be arriving for several more hours. Hyuka made him promise again that he would behave with Beomgyu. Yeonjun replied "I only promise not to start the arguments. I will not promise to be nice all of the time. He starts it!"

"Doesn't mean you need to finish it!"

"Yeonjun Choi is not one to lose a fight! Especially when someone else tries to claim that youre his best friend when youre clearly mine!"

"And I told him that! A lot!"

Yeonjun couldnt keep the grin off of his face. "I can't wait to see you say that to him in person again."

Hyuka went to fight him but they ended up wrestling. Yeonjun easily pinned him to the ground. He started tickling Hyuka and teased him that he wasnt strong. Yeonjun only pulled off when he saw the younger struggling to breathe from laughing.

The younger laid on the floor, trying to catch his breath. Yeonjun felt them both start to get sleepy so he decided to turn the ps5 on. They took turns playing Assassins Creed Valhalla in an effort to keep themselves awake. Hyuka fell asleep during a battle that the older kept getting stuck on. He decided to switch to Assassins Creed Origins for additional mental stimulation. If Beomgyu found out they werent awake to let them in the building, Yeonjun would never hear the end of it, regardless if Hyuka fell asleep first.

After 3 more hours of fighting his eyelids to stay open, Yeonjun heard the buzzer for the condo go off. He shook the recently turned 12 year old awake and they ran downstairs to greet the couple.

Yeonjun got there first so he teased them, pretending to open the door and claiming it was broken when it wouldnt. Hyuka pushed him out of the way and leaped into Beomgyu's arms. "Beomie!"

Beomgyu scooped the birthday boy up and twirled him around. "Happy birthday Hyuka! I missed you so much!"

"I missed you too! Im so glad youre here!" Hyuka reached for Soobin but Beomgyu only hugged him tighter. He gave him a small wave and said "Hi Soobin! I would hug you but..."

Soobin started laughing. "Baby bear let go. I want to hug him too!"

Yeonjun scoffed "baby bear?"

All 3 of them turned to look at him with threatening eyes. He locked his own onto Hyuka and said "sorry..."

Beomgyu eventually put Hyuka down so Soobin could hug him. He kept side eyeing Yeonjun while mouthing "my best friend. Not yours". Soobin took his hand off of Hyuka's back for a second to smack his boyfriend for doing that.

The belated birthday boy brought them up to the condo and offered them some food. Soobin promised he would bake a cake tonight if he was allowed to use the kitchen.

Yeonjun replied "of course! I missed your baking. Youre going to be the first one to use the kitchen here. No one cooks. We all just eat out or get food delivered."

Beomgyu wanted to say something but Hyuka was watching him. He bit his tounge then shoved an oreo in his mouth. When he finished chewing, he remembered the present they got him. "Here! I picked this up at the mall of america for you."

Hyuka was handed a small Minnesota shaped keychain that said "home" in the middle. He smiled and said "thank you Beomie. Ill put it on my backpack when I start school next week. Do you guys need a place to stay or do you have one?"

Soobin replied "we have one. We dropped our stuff off 30 minutes ago. Just thought we would come see you first
Sorry it's so early. Beomgyu insisted we couldnt wait."

Hyuka hugged them both. "Its okay! I really missed you guys. Go get some sleep okay? We can have breakfast in the morning. There's a diner not too far from here."

The couple left the condo after hugging Hyuka one more time. Soobin hugged Yeonjun too. They didnt have a problem with each other. Beomgyu just said "bye" to the older as they left.

Before the two in condo went to sleep, Hyuka asked Yeonjun if he planned out the week for them. He sarcastically replied at first, "I plan on leaving Beomgyu at the door while I let Soobin in." After he laughed at his own joke, he more seriously replied "yeah I do. It'll be fun. You'll see. I figured it had to be if were not going to see them again right?"

"Unless my mom really does move back my senior year."

"Look at it this way. Ill be in Stanford by then so youll only have to suffer a little bit before you join me!"

Hyuka sat in bed, imagining the warm California weather. Palm trees on the endless coastline. Surfing in the giant ocean waves just like he did in Hawaii. It seemed perfect to him. Maybe he would meet a celebrity like Keanu Reeves.

The best part was he would be completely in control of his own schedule for the first time in his life. It was a freedom he couldnt wait to have happen.
