In the morning, after seeing all of the texts from his girlfriend, Hyuka ran to the nearest flower shop and purchased the first blue flowers he could find. The cashier who rung him up said "awe! Know someone who is having a baby soon?"
"What?"
The cashier showed him the tag that said "it's a boy!"
Hyuka put them back then asked "I need flowers that say Im sorry. I forgot about my date with my girlfriend."
She walked him over to a small set of red roses. "Doesnt get more apologetic than these."
"Theyre perfect!" He paid for the flowers then ran over to Wonyoung's house. When she answered the door, Hyuka couldnt stop apologizing. There was a point where she was worried he wasnt stopping enough to breathe. "Kai!"
Hyuka finally stopped talking and stood in anticipation.
"Kai I forgive you." She took the flowers from him and stared at their beauty.
"You really forgive me?"
"Yes silly. I really forgive you."
"Do you want to go on a date right now? We can get some food or whatever you want!"
"Actually, Im hanging out with Yuna today. How about tomorrow?"
He looked at his schedule and found he was pretty booked until school started. Maybe he could make some time during a breakfast or a late night movie. "How about breakfast? We can go to that cafe you like!"
"Oh. I have to open the shop early tomorrow with my mom. Some big charity event is going on and they booked us all day."
Hyuka got sad. "Text me when youre free? I'll do my best to move things around. I really am sorry."
Wonyoung kissed him then pulled him into a hug. "And I really forgive you. The flowers are beautiful. Thank you so much Kai."
Yuna showed up which was Hyuka's cue to leave. They said hi to each other before Hyuka took Yuna's cab back to his condo.
Yeonjun asked how it went and then asked what time they were meeting Hyuka's band. The Spoiled Rebellion was actually able to book an under 18 club after their stunt in central park. The club manager saw them before security chased them out and gave the boys his business card. Yeonjun used it as an excuse to not go to his dad's family reunion. His goal was to meet some friends of his age, hopefully some who went to his school, so he wouldnt walk in being the new kid again.
The two were driven to a seafood restaurant near the club and Hyuka introduced Yeonjun to the members of his band. After a large meal, they went off to play. Yeonjun split to mingle and easily became the life of the dance floor when people saw his moves. Friends always came easily to the two best friends.
It did not come so easily to Taehyun. He looked at his phone to see one of his friends canceling on him at the last minute. Soobin told him that maybe he actually was busy and that Taehyun shouldnt worry about it, but history has shown he wasnt being paranoid.
Beomgyu and Soobin realized they didn't know very much about Taehyun's personal life and his abandonment issues was probably why. All they knew was his mom was a drunk who ignored him most of the time. Being alone and fending for himself was just something the kid got used to.
Soobin had work today but Beomgyu didnt so he decided to take him out. "Have you ever been to Mall of America?"
"No. Ive always wanted to go though. Just was too far from my old house."
"Come on lets go. We can take Kai." Beomgyu grabbed a large pouch with a cable clip which he attached to Kai's saddle. The baby dragon started hopping up and down while illuminating his purple scales out of excitment. Taehyun grabbed a dead hawk from the shed and fed it to Kai. The dragon crunched on it like a hard candy bar. Taehyun gave him one before before they took off.
