Day 5 in California

The couple felt a lot better after they woke up. Hyuka didn't mean to upset his boyfriend so much, he was just given a lot of shocking information in a short time span. Learning your love had been keeping a dragon from you for years would shock anyone.

Hyuka checked his phone to see a text from Beomgyu saying the dragons went back to Minnesota. He was relieved to see that. Pretending like everything was normal in a public space, when there was a fucking dragon sniffing you down, was not something he was a fan of. Not to mention how bad Kai's breath was after eating a live dolphin. He loved dolphins too. It was sad to watch one get chomped in half.

Yeonjun texted him, asking if they were still studying today. Another thing the 15 year old forgot about. He slithered out from Taehyun's arms to get dressed. It woke his boyfriend up. He felt really bad. "Taehyunnie go back to sleep. I'm sorry I woke you up. I need to study with Yeonjun today."

Taehyun rubbed his eyes and nervously asked "are we okay?"

Hyuka walked back over to his adorable boyfriend. "Yes. I was just freaked out yesterday. Learning my best friends and my boyfriend were raising dragons was a lot."

"I understand."

"Anything else I need to know?"

"No!" Taehyun began to freak out. "No, I swear there isn't anything else!"

Hyuka went to the bathroom to get changed. He believed him. Taehyun thought he was just brushing his teeth so he went in to do the same. His eyes popped open seeing his boyfriend in just his underwear. "SHIT! I'M SO SORRY!" He ran out and closed the door. The younger came out shortly after, fully dressed. He wasn't mad. In fact, it didn't look to bother him at all. That made Taehyun confused. "I'm sorry... are you mad at me? I can't tell."

"No. You've seen me in swim trunks. It's basically the same thing. I know you didn't mean to."

"Right..." Taehyun was still confused but brushed it off. He went into the bathroom to change and wash up.

Hyuka used the mirror by the desk to comb his hair. Yeonjun began calling him. He answered "I'll be there in a second. Where are we going this time?"

"Cafe by the pizza place then the library."

"See you in two minutes." Hyuka hung up. He kissed Taehyun as he was coming out of the bathroom and promised he wasn't mad. They were going to talk about their future later after dinner.

Taehyun went to breakfast with Beomgyu and Soobin. The oldest told them what happened with the dragons to make sure their stories aligned. He described Hyuka freaking out a lot. The dragon seemed fascinated with the 15 year old. Taehyun was just happy to hear his dragon liked his boyfriend. They confirmed Yeonjun still had no idea. Soobin figured Hyuka wasn't going to tell him either. Yeonjun wouldn't believe him if he did.

He regretted not calling Sara over so the younger could meet her as well. Kai may have behaved more if his mother was around too. He recalled Hyuka looking sick when he watched them eat. Taehyun remembered the first time he went hunting with his dragon. The feeling was similar. It was something to get used to.

Beomgyu asked what they talked about last night. Taehyun explained he was worried that he was going to get dumped. His boyfriend kept saying he couldn't stay in Minnesota. Then Taehyun began to pour his fears out to the couple. His most notable one was the fear of holding his boyfriend back if he chose to stay with him.

Soobin assured him they could work it out. Beomgyu wasn't so sure but he didn't let that show. He's known his best friend longer than anyone at the table. Hyuka was never a fan of staying in one place. On the contrary, it could be good for him to be grounded in life if that's what he truly wanted.
