It hatched

Beomgyu and Soobin were on spring break. They were thankful to be done with classes for a few weeks. They spent half of their time working and the other half preparing for the egg to finally hatch.

Taehyun was on his last week of school until his spring break. Hyuka was also on spring break so they talked a lot more. He learned the Californians spent their first three days doing nothing but sleeping and eating. The stress of six classes got to them but they pushed through it. Now just a couple months left.

The Minnesotans got to hear the final version of Lonely Boy before it was submitted. The song exceeded all of their expectations. It became a favorite around the house. Beomgyu liked to listen to it when he was sweeping since he was the only one who did any around the house. He told Taehyun that which made the 16 year old volunteer but apparently 'he was doing it wrong'. They got into an argument about it. Taehyun knew that would happen. They made up over a couple hours of video games.

Soobin took an outdoor broom and began to scrub Sara with it. The dragon was accumulating moss and dirt on her shiny white scales because she hadn't moved for over a month. Beomgyu grabbed a big bucket of water and began to help. Very slowly, her shine came pack. She went from a sandy pearl to a polished one. It took two hours due to her size. The couple was exhausted by the end of it.

Taehyun came home on his last day of school before break. He collasped on the couch to take a short nap. When he woke up, he smelled spaghetti and meatballs. Soobin offered him a plate which he gladly took. Beomgyu went out to check the dragons again.

The couple was worried the egg wasn't going to hatch at all. It had been two weeks over the estimated date. If it didn't hatch within another week, Soobin was going to bury the egg.

To distract themselves, they came up with a couple of baby names. If the dragon was a boy, Loki or Otto. If it was a girl, Zelda or Stella. Coloration would determine which name they would go for. That's if Sara approved at least.

Taehyun finished his food then began getting ready for work. The diner was closed but he volunteered to help put the truck away for more cash. College was in a few months for him. He really needed the extra money. Hyuka said he would pay for his schooling, no questions asked. The check was sent to the university the next day. All he had to do was buy his books which were much more expensive than they should be. He also had to buy a couple of online access keys for coursework? Why were those hundreds of dollars?

One day he actually asked Yeonjun and Hyuka how rich they were. Yeonjun's family had double the amount the Huenings did. They came from old money.

Still, the Huenings were multi-millionaires. His dad traded stocks in his free time and was very successful at it. He got offers to work for Citadel and J.P Morgan but that would force him to live in one spot, away from his family. That wasn't going to happen. Secretly, he also started a small investment account for Taehyun. He had a feeling he would be his son one day so he deserved to share their wealth. If it didn't work out, it would go to whoever Hyuka ended up marrying.

While Taehyun was packing boxes into a freezer, he got a call from Beomgyu saying the egg was finally hatching. He packed the pallet away faster then begged his boss to let him go home. She said he could since he wasn't supposed to be there anyways.

Kai quickly picked him up then they flew to the entrance of the cave. Taehyun got off of his dragon and started to walk in. He saw it. A little silver dragon, the size of a large dog. Same purple scales down the spine and the belly. The silver shined like polished plates of armor. Kai made a small roar which caused the baby to look over in Taehyun's direction. He locked eyes with those beautifully deep purples. They were gorgeous.
