Night Rider- Tyunning

Spring dance

Wonyoung was helping Kai get fitted for his suit to the spring dance. He insisted she come again but she said she couldnt. "How would your date feel? I couldnt do that to her. I bet she's beautiful if she's going with you."

"I guess but Id rather go with you. I only have 6 more months here. I would like to spend it with people I care about." He took her hand and kissed it. That was a move he learned from Yeonjun but Kai actually meant what he said.

Wonyoung blushed as she was fixing his tie. "There. Youre all set for tonight."

Hyuka looked in the mirror and checked himself out. He had to admit, Yuna does have good fashion sense. The only thing that wouldve made it better was if instead of blue accents, it was purple with his black suit. Purple and black was a color combination he always had admired. Purple for royalty. Black for the night. He turned to Wonyoung and asked "what would you think of purple instead of blue?"

She looked him up and down with a lot of thought. "Im sure it would look nice but blue is better. I like the blue!"

Hyuka got saddened but dismissed it. He had to pick Yuna up any moment now. "Thank you for helping me out. I need to get going. We still on for tomorrow?"

"Of course!" Wonyoung hugged him goodbye then kissed his cheek. Kai blushed as he walked out the door.

His driver took him to Yuna's apartment complex and he texted he was there. The officer at the desk let him in when he got the okay from her place.

He waited in the lobby that was overly decorated in modern art and glass flowers. An elderly woman walking by joked that Kai looked like he belonged in a museum.

"Thank you ma'am. I hope that when Im as old as you, I look half as amazing as you do."

The elderly woman cackled as she left the lobby towards the street.

Yuna came out of the elevator in her royal blue dress and looked like a barbie doll. Her blonde hair was tied up in a bun with a blue flower hairpin at the base. A small diamond choker hung around her neck with diamond drop earrings to match.

A guy walked out with her and Hyuka heard him say "have fun tonight sis" before he left. Kai found himself staring at the brother more than his date. The brother was only wearing a black long sleeved shirt and gray shorts but it was enough to get Kai's attention. His eyes were drawn in like a magnet and he had no idea why.

He forced himself to look at his date. Kai handed her the small bouquet of red roses and told her how pretty she looked. She pinned the matching red rose to his lapel and said they looked like the perfect couple. Her parents came down and took a few photos of them in the lobby. Hyuka posed with lifeless eyes just like every other dance he's been to. He had yet to find someone he was truly happy going with.

Yuna told their parents they had to go. Kai opened the door for her and held her hand as she got in the car. On the way over, she was showing him the photos her parents took. They took a few more selfies together which had to be retaken 3 more times because "she didn't look good enough". She always looked good.

Hyuka took another page out of Yeonjun's book. He gently put her phone down out of her hands, looked her in the eyes and said "you are so beautiful tonight. I cant wait to dance with you."

She swooned in her seat. Yeonjun said it worked every time the photo session went on too long. Guess he wasnt wrong.

They arrived at the dance and got the photographer to take a few more photos of them at the decorated entrance. Hyuka pulled her onto the gym floor where they met up with their mutal group of friends. They all shared the photos they took seperately and then took a lot together as a group.

The girls split to take a few more in a corner. Hyuka turned to his band and said "what are the odds we get to go up on stage today?"

Jake said "what are you crazy? We would get kicked out of our own school!"

Seungmin asked "isnt it just a DJ today too?"

Hyuka turned to the top section of the gym and saw a DJ surrounded by a few microphones. He turned back to his friends and asked "do you really want to dance all night when we could BE the night?"

The boys looked at each other and had the exact same thought. Hyuka walked up to Yuna and whispered "watch this".

The Spoiled Rebellion took the stage. Seungmin slipped the DJ $500 and told him to play "24k Magic" by Bruno Mars to start the party. They became the energy of the room. Their dates felt like royalty because they were the lucky ones who came with them.

After an hour, the boys let the DJ go back to his job. Hyuka took Yuna's hand and pulled her into a slow dance. He smiled through the shyness. His face had a tint of pink to it. Yuna innocently asked "I heard about your girlfriend. Why did you say yes to me?"

"You asked me first. I wasnt going to cancel on you."

She got sad. "Oh."

Hyuka ducked his head down to meet her eyes. "You know Jake really likes you. His favorite color is blue too."

She looked over at Jake dancing with a different girl. Jake looked over and smiled.
Yuna smiled back and turned to Hyuka. "I had no idea he likes me. He would look good in blue."

Hyuka took her hand and brought her over to Jake and his partner. He asked Jake's date if she wanted to get a drink. She said yes and followed him over to the drink table. Kai saw Jake and Yuna laughing with each other. When Yuna wasnt looking, Jake texted him "thank you".

Beomgyu texted Hyuka asking for a photo of himself. Taehyun was growing fast. His voice kept dropping and cracked less and less. He figured his best friend was going through the same thing. If he did see Hyuka this summer, he wanted to be able to recognize him. The idea of his best friend becoming a stranger was terrifying.

Kai had the girl he was talking to, to take a photo of him under one of the spot lights. He sent it to Beomgyu who was surprised and relieved to see he looked the same.

Beomgyu showed Soobin the photo. Soobin said "wow he looks the same. Have you seen how tall his dad is? I wonder when that will happen to him."

Taehyun wandered over to see the photo of Hyuka. He still looked like a little prince in his eyes. "Are we free the 3rd week of August?"

The couple grinned. "I think we are."
