This piece was requested by the lovely avaaviesflowergirl (who you should follow because she's an icon)! It features her OC, Kumosu Dokuhime (I hope to Kagaya that I spelled it right), alongside the butterfly sisters who we all know and love—Shinobu and Kanae Kocho, and Kanao Tsuyuri! :)
I used some of the bases provided by ibis paint for the poses, and with a little creative editing I came up with a group pose that I felt fits each of their personalities. I put a picture of it above so y'all can use it if you want—I'm sure ibis paint won't mind and I'm not gonna claim it as my own work XD
First, let's start with the woman of the hour, Kumosu :D
I did struggle a little with her hair at first, and the diamond shaped pupil, but once I got that figured out, the rest of it was actually really fun! I absolutely adore her color scheme and her expression was a blast. I look forward to possibly drawing her again ^-^
So, this is actually my first time drawing Kanae, which meant that I was a little nervous, but I think with enough reference checking, she came out okay :)
The real struggle was having to replicate Shinobu/Kanae's haori pattern twice- luckily I pushed through to the end because I was heavily considering giving Shinobu her original haori to save me time. I like this version a lot better though :)
Also, can we just get a moment to appreciate Kanao's face? I thought I captured her essence very well there, and normally I'd say not to brag, but screw it I'm gonna brag a little bit because I never did it that good before. I did struggle a little with her skirt and shoes because of how she was sitting, but I think I pulled through.
