Hello my lovelies! I'm not sure if anyone wanted another flashback to Nagisa and Shouko's childhood, but I found this on the internet and just had to recreate it with my beans so there you go!
Okay maybe I just wanted an excuse to draw Shouko's long hair and this was the perfect way to do it. I love her current style as much as the next guy but I worked hard on her backstory so I might as well draw it, right? :D
This was actually inspired by one of the drawings in the manga—if my memory serves me right it was volume 19, and that would be kinda nifty because that's one of the volumes I own! :D however please don't quote me on that it's been a while since I've last read the manga. Did I only get it cause Kanao was on the cover? Only partially the other part was it had my favorite fight scene...with Kanao but don't worry about it
I'm getting off topic, back to the drawing!
After Shouko was introduced to the Hayashi family, she would spend a lot of time with Nagisa and therefore Takehiro, who would try to help his friend with her whenever he could in between their training sessions. One of the ways they did this was through doing her hair, which she wore long up until after her final selection (let me know if you wanna see that as a drawing by the way 👀). As a result, Nagisa also grew quite skilled in styling/cutting hair :) (even if he was reluctant to lolz)
Am I getting people attached to Takehiro knowing full well that he's dead? Who knows lolz
For the artistic process, I'd definitely say Shouko was the easiest, with Nagisa being relatively simple save for the multiple attempts on getting his hair to make sense. As for Takehiro...he was definitely a struggle, but I tried my best XD since I was using Kanae and Shinobu as a guide/base, I had to really improvise with the clothes.
I still think this is a really sweet scene, so I hope you like it too!
