Hello again, and welcome to episode who knows of Melody Draws Armor! This is the first chapter in a while that I didn't have to open up with an explanation as to why I took so long, since this is one of the products of my random late night drawing frenzy XD
Introducing everyone's favorite strong-willed swordswoman Tsubaki as Eurylochus, the second-in-command!
So this was kind of another no-brainer for me, given that I casted Yūjin as polites and him and Tsubaki are contrasts to each other. On top of that, she's not afraid to stand up to people even though they're higher ranking than her, which fits given how many times in EPIC there's a back and forth between him and Odysseus, the literal king of Ithaca (which also fits the canon dynamic given that she's at kanoe and Ren's at hinoto hehehehehe). If she thinks something's wrong or if she doesn't agree, she'll say it.
And now for the artistic process! I tried to contrast her outfit to polites, so I used "warmer" shades to fit her color palette that consists mostly of reds, and I used a red waist band to further differentiate her. I had a lot of fun with her ponytail since that's the first time I've managed to pull something like that off. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me :)
Her artistic process was actually relatively easy, thank the stars- in fact, the most difficult part was finding the right colors to shade the hair so it didn't look weird and splotchy. I'm still not entirely sure if I got it right, but it looks passable and that's good enough for me XD
There was also the mini debacle I had with the lip color and trying to make it look like it was precise and an on purpose decision versus just scribbling colors all over the place lolz- I'm not entirely sure why given that I've never had that issue before, but given that the rest of the process was smooth something had to trip me up, right? At this point, it's pretty much a given XD
Well, I guess that's it for now, I don't have much else to say here (wow, me not being long winded? That's a rarity XD). Once again, thank you so much for sticking around and supporting my art, and therefore me. I might not be the best at accepting compliments but I still appreciate you guys I promise! ^-^
